From start to finish, everyone in this office bends over backwards to accommodate your needs. Dr Feehan is not only a talented dentist he is also kind and compassionate. He recently created a crown for a back molar that had cracked, and it fits perfectly. Instead of an aggressive total modification, he was able to restore tooth function with minimal invasion. I made an appointment using their online system back during the first Covid lockdown. They didn't have appointments available for 6 months. I found another dentist in the meantime and forgot about this appointment I made with them. Two weeks ago, maybe a year or more after I scheduled the appointment, I get a notice from them saying that if I don't pay them $29 immediately they are sending me to collections. No explanation of what the bill is for, nothing. I left a message with their billing office and can not reach anyone to find out what they are billing me for. I have never stepped foot in their office! Really bad customer service! read more

I was a patient at this office for many years but they discontinued accepting my insurance and the office never notified me either by mail or in person when I set my appointment, yet would not accept "in network" payment for my services even though I had no way of knowing that they stopped participating. Discontinuing in network benefits was THEIR decision so it should be their responsibility to inform their patients of this decision prior to services being provided or at least agree to only bill for in network when they don't let a patient know. Been going here for years, really like Nick but can't say the same about his office staff. Taylor is not very friendly and seems not to care about Nicks patients. This staff doesn't return phone calls as promised, and having to deal with Taylor's attitude is ridiculous. Really enjoyed seeing Nick over the years but my family and I will definitely find a new dental office, and one where the staff seem to care more about the reputation of the Dentists that employ them, and more importantly the patients! read more

Left message with "hotline" Still no call back by Saturday at dinner time Called again Now 9pm on Saturday, no call back to any of 3 messages Thanks for responding to my comment a year after the fact... Customer Care has been highly sacrificed during COVID. I arrived 8 minutes after my scheduled appointment and was told I need to reschedule... and wasn't even allowed into the office for my cleaning after informing them I was not able to make the 8am appt time in advance (and they booked it for 8am after I told them "any time after 8am"). The service experience was horrible, no empathy for a family, as we just need to take extra time as well during COVID to protect ourselves and our family especially now with the impossible mission of childcare. Then they sent me a break up letter after I asked for a transfer of my records... you guys won't be in business very long in this town with that approach to customers. I would have given them 5 stars if it hadn't of been for the lady in the front office as I was trying to check out. The dentists and dental techs are awesome, very nice and professional. However, the blonde woman up front could use some retraining in customer service. She was very rude. In the end I left angry and irritated with what had started out as a very nice experience. AVOID! #1. Scheduling issues. I was told via email to come in at 11:45. I responded to confirm 11:45. I show up at 11:30 and was told I was supposed to be there at 11. They called their sister location to see if my appointment was supposed to be there? That made me feel like I wasn't even on the schedule. This isn't even the worst of it. #2. They told me I needed a root canal when I only needed a filling!!! Always always get a second opinion before putting thousands of dollars down for something. I came here for fillings after being told somewhere else that I needed them. Couldn't get the fillings done that day because they messed up my appointment. I had to drive another 70 miles round trip to go back a different day to get a couple cavities filled. Cville blue ridge kept asking me if I was going back to the first place. It's like they were trying to get me to stick with them by finding something (even if non-existent) the other place missed. They either took advantage of the fact that one of my wisdom teeth was infected, and it felt like the pain was coming from a different tooth with a cavity, or they aren't as knowledgable as they should be. I got my wisdom teeth out and I haven't had any more pain since. I got a second opinion elsewhere on the "root canal" and this other place told me it likely didn't need it and proceeded with the filling, in the end saying it wasn't deep enough to need a RC. read more

The staff is very professional and the hygienists are very friendly, as well as the doctors. I've never had scheduling issues except for the fact they are busy and if you miss an appointment it may be hard to get another prompt slot. I've never waited more than 10 minutes to be seen. I get the sense they are indeed looking out for the patient's long term benefit. They keep a good track of any potential problems and try to resolve any issues promptly. I love the TV in each consultation room to distract the patient from the work being done. The office is super clean and there are magazines and water in the lobby which is really convenient. read more

I had a crown replaced by Dr Justin on 10/13 and it was the best dental experience I've had in a dental chair in my 62 years of going to the dentist. I paid the requested amount due and on 10/21 Delta Dental sent a check to the dental office for the insurance portion and an EOB to me with the claim info and I saw that I had overpaid by $204. On 11/11 after 2 phone calls to the office I was finally able to confirm I did have a $204 credit and was told they would refund it to me. On 11/30 I called to follow up on the refund and was told they did not know when I would be refunded, that the checks were processed outside of the dental office and they had no control over it!? It seems very extreme to me that first I would be overcharged by an amount as large as $204 and then secondly be told they had no idea when I could expect to get my money back! I've never heard of anything like this and feel like it is certainly not a fair way to do business! read more

I had found out about Charlottesville Blue Ridge Dental from an add they had on the radio. They had stated in the add that they would work out payments based on income and no credit check required. I had called this morning to set up an appointment and asked about payments and I was told that they used Credit Care which does a credit check. I felt like this was false advertisement. read more

I am a student in Charlottesville (not from here), so I did not have a dentist in the area when I had a loose crown on an implant, and I needed immediate help! Other dentists in the area were unhelpful and unresponsive, but Blue Ride Dental promptly made me an appointment and fixed my tooth in under 20 minutes! The staff was incredibly friendly, and facilities are very nice. If I have future tooth problems at school, I will definitely be returning. read more

I made my first appointment with Dr. Minutella but when I got there, I saw Dr Albert, which was fine. I didn't know either of them. However, he told me I had seven cavities that needed to be filled. I was shocked because I've never had a cavity. I got a second opinion from another dentist, who took additional X-rays. He said I didn't have any cavities. This was a year ago and I still haven't had any dental issues. read more

I have very sensitive teeth and bad gag reflexes, the dentist and tech was very careful of avoiding a negative experience for me. Pretty much the worst experience I have ever had with a dental office. I used to go to the one in Crozet and they were really great! Always professional, always very friendly and helpful and definitely knowledgeable! But I went to the one in Charlottesville and had an awful experience. The front desk staff and dental hygenists were very friendly however, after a slight issue with my insurance last year, I was unable to get a crown filled and had to cancel my appointment(if anyone knows -- crowns are VERY expensive even with insurance), explaining the entire situation to them when I cancelled. When I finally got my insurance worked out and rescheduled my appointment, the dentist was very rude regarding that cancelled appointment and dismissed my teeth sensitivity to focus on that cancelled appointment, specifically saying "well you cancelled your appointment for a cleaning and to fix this tooth and you probably have a lot of cavities now. Why did you cancel?" And this was BEFORE he had even examined my teeth, and after speaking with me in regards to the insurance issue. No one in a professional setting should speak with you that way. Then, they said they would need to do a cleaning first which is understandable and they said we'll go ahead and schedule it for Monday from 1:30-3:00pm. This was on a Friday at 10:30am. They close at 12:00pm that day. I called this morning to push back part of my 2 part exam not even cancelling my appointment due to a work issue and they are going to charge me $50 for that. This is before I even got a chance to explain I would be willing to re-schedule part of the exam so that I could still make my appointment. When I was asking about the fact that I didn't have 24 hours to be able to call and re-schedule my appointment, I was told "Well we have notes about you in our system that said you have cancelled an appointment before." I have worked in a customer service environment for years and for anyone to be spoken to this way, and worked with this way is unfortunate. I am severely disappointed. You could have easily handled these different situations in a positive way but you chose not to. I am generally pretty relaxed when dealing with any company, laid back and understanding of what I have done incorrectly (re-scheduling, etc.) as I know how it feels to be on the other end and cannot remember the last time I left a bad review but am always willing to leave good reviews. If you are considering switching to this dentist, I would suggest you reconsider!! There are a lot of great places to go in Charlottesville, which I have heard from a few friends when discussing this issue, who would not have handled this situation so poorly. read more
