The personnel are certainly pleasant and helpful. My complaint is with the accuracy of my eye exam.The woman who did the exam, for one thing, never checked my near vision. As a result, my distance vision is fairly good with the lenses that resulted from her prescription, though one eye is better than the other. My near vsion, however is terrible. My left eye is slightly better than myright eye, so I have to tilt my glasses and use only my left eye when I read something up close. It's been only 6 months or so since I got these new lenses from Charlton Optical, but I'm going this week to go to opticians in Sturbridge whom I've used before and from whom I've always gotten a satisfactory result. I used up my vision insurance in Charlton, but will gladly pay out of pociet inSturbridge to have my vision back. I would say that the woman who performed my eye exam at Charlton Optical wasn't qualified. Heavens only knows what kind of training she had! read more

After years of going to various optometrist, I never seemed to end up with the right prescription. Recently, I had my eye exam here and wow, I finally have glasses for reading and another set for driving and watching TV that are correct for my eyes! This place is tops. Purchased my daughters glasses here last year, the DR was terrific! Best one yet! The entire visit was great. Today one of my daughters nose pads broke off so i stopped in to have them replaced. As Peter was replacing my daughters I was telling him that at some point I'll have to replace mine. Peter handed me my daughters glasses AND replaced mine at no charge! Walking in I thought maybe I was going to have to pay something. Mind you, I didn't purchase my glasses here but I will now! Thanks Peter! read more

I wish I could give them more stars! I was having trouble getting my contact out of my right eye on a Friday night. I called and left a message Saturday morning and received a call back very quickly. I was able to be seen that morning even though I was visiting from out of town and not a regular patient of that office. I was able to see the doctor quickly and found out I had a corneal abrasion. Medication was called into CVS withoutdelay. The entire staff was wonderful and made me feel very welcome. I hope I never need them again lol, but at least I know I can count on them if needed! read more

All of the staff are very welcoming and professional. Over the past five years I have had prescription glasses and always felt as if something was off. I've never been to an optometrist before last year and had no idea what to expect. Everything about my visit exceeded my expectations from the friendly, knowledgeable and accommodating staff to the comfortability of the office itself. The exam went smoothly and quickly and when it came time to choose my glasses, they left it up to me whether I wanted to take all day to choose a pair or to get in and get out quickly. The owner and staff are always super friendly and pleasant and willing to go above and beyond to get questions answered or to rectify an issue. I have been here twice now and have zero complaints and am very happy with the service they provide. I'm in my mid-40's and just getting glasses for the first time and hope to go to this office for many years to come. Also, there has been an addition of a new optometrist since I was here last, Dr. Renee Gomez. She is a wonderful new member of staff. Very pleasant to talk to, friendly, very knowledgeable and energetic and I felt confident that I was in great hands. She's quite an asset to this office and I am sure all patients will agree. 5 star service. Phenomenal staff, friendly and comfortable atmosphere and you are made to feel like they genuinely care, that you're not just another patient they're trying to get out the door for the next one. Do yourself a favor and go down the street to the Walmart. I mean what's the worst that can happen? They tell you your Rx is not what it's suppose to be? Well you'll get the same service here, and when you ask a question you'll get told that you need to 'adjust to the new Rx.' The owner of this business says on his website that he 'specializes' in grinding lenses and fitting them into frames. Folks, that's what an optician does, they have a machine that grinds the lenses for them based on a template and they fit them into a frame. He's not sculpting a statue out of stone. His prices are insanely high, double what you can get for the same product at Walmart and from 1800contacts. The location is cramped. There was a screaming child kicking the door behind the exam chair, the place you try new contacts on is an employees work desk, if there's more than two customers you have to squeeze past each other. The selection is limited and they have nothing on hand. I read another review that the person was upset they had to pay for shipping and another reviewer told them to stop whining. You know who doesn't charge to ship them to you if they don't have them in stock, everyone else. I'm truly amazed with all the better options out there, this place is still in business. read more
