Let me just start by saying that I went in here with an open mind. I came here to get a haircut. I…read moreasked for a short haircut similar to a bob. I ended up getting close to 7 inches cut off. My visit here lasted about 2 hours from start to finish. At some point during my haircut I noticed that one side was shorter than the other side when I mentioned this to the instructor (a woman with red hair & bangs) she told me there's not really much they can do about that; she then said something about extensions. I said no, we're not doing that. I DID NOT walk in here to get a haircut, an UNEVEN haircut, to later be told there's not much they can do other than extensions. I was definitely NOT going to ask to go shorter! Do I regret the length? No. Do I regret coming here? YES! The student who cut my hair was nice & she said she didn't want me to be unhappy with my hair. I kept thinking one side was shorter than the other even after she blow dried my hair. I thought maybe my hair was doing this weird thing it does when I get a short haircut; it goes off to one side & it looks shorter but after I straightened my hair at home it's very obvious that it's uneven. Both the student & instructor cut my hair. I do not recommend coming here for a haircut. PLEASE SAVE YOUR TIME & MONEY FOR A DIFFERENT PLACE. The price you pay & the time you spend here is not worth dealing with when you're walking out of here with a bad haircut. I gave this place a chance, I was really hoping to have a good experience seeing as how the instructors are there to help & guide the students BUT unfortunately I am very dissatisfied with my haircut. I will now have to grow out my hair for a few months & pay someone else to fix my hair. My daughter also got a haircut from this place. She asked for some layers & a trim. Hers lasted about 2 hours & 20 minutes. I don't think she got what she asked for either. It felt like they tried talking her into getting something else. My son got a haircut from here the same day as my daughter. He had a good experience & he was happy with his haircut. I'm happy that he had a good experience. Overall, it's safe to say that I will NOT be going back. I highly discourage anyone from coming here for any haircuts. I tried contacting them twice & I have not gotten a call back.

During my time there all students were receiving different kits when we were all paying the "same amount "the newer students coming in were getting updated kits with multiple items that me and others never got when I asked the instructor about it I was simply told it was discontinued. Later on I come to find out that students are all being charged different amounts on their tuition fees. The newer girls coming in were being charged less and getting better kits than the girls that were there before me and started with me. I found this truly unfair since everyone was paying the "same amount" Please for any on coming new students do your research. The instructor was very unprofessional at times yelling at students loud enough to hear her from a whole other room over something that could have been handled more professionally. I also didn't like how students were being told to NOT speak Spanish while we were there when nothing disrespectful or inappropriate was being said. The instructor simply didn't like us speaking in Spanish which is dumb because most of the students who attended there were predominantly Hispanic. Lastly I thought it was strange how students CANT claim for taxes at the end of the year my tax person mentioned they HAVE TO provide a Tax ID number to be able to do so, but the instructor stated she "can't provide" that info to students. We ended up filing a complaint . Over all I wish I would have known about all the law suits and shady stuff that is going on here before making my decision and attending CCA. DO YOUR HOMEWORK before making your final decision.

CalStateTEACH Monterey Bay - Inaccurate. This program *uses* you as free labor, only to have you pay *them* around $4,500 per term. Save your $ and go to a university.

I've been receiving many messages to go into more detail than I already have, so here's a list of…read morethings to consider before you think about attending CST: 1. Even when diligently reading CST's janky iPad's ten module books (oh yes, you are forced, by CST to buy an iPad, regardless if you already have an iPad or laptop--it is *part of your tuition*), you are still highly unprepared to set foot in a classroom environment. 2. From the very start you are most likely behind in your hours as they are so demanding and your placement is sketchy. You quickly realize: you = free labor = should not be legal = but it is. 3. There are some good "mentors" but most are unclear about the technology that is *required* and do not hold PhDs (as university professors must). 4. There is no "fast way" to get a teaching credential. It's a lot of work, practice, saint-like patience, understanding laws, different districts policies, and how to communicate with administration--all things that are crucial and that CST does NOT prepare you for. 5. I would recommend, if you truly want to get your teaching credential, to inquire at your local university (CST again, is not a university--it just uses the Cal State name because they *rent* an office there). The price is about the same as a university and you are not forced to buy anything (ie. an iPad) 6. This should be #1, but get your CSET MS test passed and out of the way *before* you continue your education (anywhere) to be an educator. The CSET Multiple Subject test consists of three sections, and is crazy intense. If you've been out of school for a bit--it requires a lot of studying and practice. It also may take you multiple attempts. I recommend the Cliff Notes CSET book, study.com, and looking up topics you don't understand on YouTube. 7. I totally get the freedom of taking classes online and CST romanticizes this, but I'm telling you--all of my online classmates and I thought it was a joke/scam, to get you to pay them, only to work for free. 8. If you're still considering it, I would suggest doing as much research as you can on the instructors, head of staff, and searching for honest reviews. Google "CST scam", "CST BBB", etc. CST has paid google to show up first in your search results, so add a negative (or other word behind CST) such as: scam, review, responses, rip off, complaints, etc. 9. Professors at a university (more than likely) will be better mentors than your retired-teacher-side-hustle-advisor. No disrespect to retired teachers, but professors at at university bring an entire wealth of knowledge, activity, and one on one face time IRL, that the CST advisory staff absolutely does not. Especially "Dr. Black". I've never met someone so stand offish, rude, and unhelpful--especially in a main advisory role. Google him as well (or whomever the head of staff is for you) and you will see that CST is just his side-hustle as well. In his blog (look it up) his complains multiple times about LAUSD, but (again) he will send you there without blinking an eye. 10. You do you. Just like teaching students, there is no one-size-fits-all. I recommend substitute teaching at a district first, to see what grade level(s) you flourish at. As John Dewey said, "You have to learn by doing" BUT this way *you are learning and getting paid*, not paying CST to work and learning what not to do. 11. Finally, in any teaching credential program, you will have to obtain clinical experience hours (ie. working for free). The hours increase as your education progresses. It is not easy, but required by the state of CA. 12. I wish you all the best! Teaching is a calling, purpose, and a special gift. It is one of the noblest professions. You *have to have* a love for wanting to make a difference in student's lives and you have to have a deep understanding that it will be a different experience and challenge every. single. day.

This program is only geared toward working in a high end elementary school. They function like a…read morefor profit school and are not dedicated to their students. There are a lot of promises, but when it's time to deliver, they can't follow through and hide behind policies. I didn't have an advisor for the first half of the semester and didn't have access to the school supplies I paid for. Honestly, pick another program if you want your credential.

Everytime a student driver made even the slightest of mistakes the head guy/owner of SB would yell so loud that his face would turn red. He made my entire experience horrible and I paid $10k! Everything he said and told us to do and not do was lead with intimidation and anger and threats....wasn't encouraging or helpful at all. Seemed like most of the instructors were also scared of him so they didn't encourage us to improve. I asked my instructor about him and he said yeah we are all scared to do something wrong. What a horrible way to run a business! I would've done more f4 classes but not here, EVER! There are much better run race classes. Run from Skip Barber and never look back!!

We started 25 minutes late. The staff seemed like it was their first day there. Skip Barber describes their courses as "lead and follow". Let me describe that for you. The instructor leads and you follow. This is not a bad concept as long as the lead car is capable of the same speed as the student. The "lead" car on the day of my session was a completely stock Toyota Camry. If that sounds bad, it was. Now add 4 students in the "lead" car every session receiving "instruction" while you are driving a car capable of 150 mph and the result is a lap speed of well under 70 MPH. The same lap car was used for all cars that day. Therefore, Formula 4 cars and GT cars were restricted to the same speed behind the lap car. If driving an exceptional car well below it's potential is appealing to you, I highly recommend Skip Barber.

Being a first time mom, first time (full term) preggo, having anxiety over a previous miscarriage,…read moreand a little type-A, preparing myself for the ultimate woman-making "race to the finish line" was something I knew would help calm my fears of the unknown. As mentioned, I'm type-A, so you would think I would have had this class all pre-planned however, with a previous miscarriage, I didn't allow myself to fully take in that a baby was fully on her way--despite an ever-growing belly. Two months before the due date, we finally nailed down some times. Being that we were commuting over an hour to work everyday, Aimee gracefully offered to meet us at our home, on our requested times, on our requested days! She made it so easy to make it happen with the little time we had. She even shifted things around when we had an abrupt loss in our family as we were about to take the class. The actual class was easy to absorb and super eye-opening. Knowing our rights, knowing what a woman's body is supposed to do, knowing what drugs actually do to you, knowing alternatives, knowing things we could do NOW to help with labor was absolutely priceless. You see, I had a breech baby. Aimee suggested how to do exercises each day and even gave me a gentle nudge to see a chiropractor. After that visit--boom--baby wasn't breech! The entire class gave me the knowledge I needed to prep myself for the day. And as far as mentally and emotionally prepping myself, she lent me a book on positive birth stories. She was helping me remove that horrible stigma around terrifying labors. Well, come 37 week appt and I had to be induced, medicated, and eventually c-section as baby flipped back to breech during the process of trying to lower her. However, guess who was on the other end of my anxiety-ridden text messages? Aimee. She was there to help with decisions I felt uncomfortable with and to even let me know that even though it wasn't the birth I had wanted, I was doing everything right for my baby and my health. As you can tell, I think Aimee is amazing. If you're looking for a partner, a guiding force, or just some real knowledge on birth/labor, Aimee is your gal.
