Although, they do get kind of combative over silly rules in not the most professional way. However, i think people need to realize that if you are a student at CSUMB and are using the day care during your semester you will have to continue to pay 700 a month even during the summer and winter breaks to keep your spot. (This is unlike any other college day care ive ever seen). They do not care about the consistency of the child or the well being of the child the are there to make profits. I was under the impression we would be able to hold our spot but apparently thats not true and dis enrolled us but not before cashing the check we sent them for January that we can not get back because they put that toward the rest of December (which i paid for the few days my child attended. 300 hundred or so) . So even though they dis enrolled us they still were happy to cash our check. Also, we have had 3 different people taking care of our paper work on the business end and the newest one send my husband and i a letter demanding we get our child up to date on her shot by the end of the week (it was wednesday) or we will be dis enrolled. Well, she was up to date so we were like you need to be better trained or something. But no she was sure we were missing 5 at first then it was like 2-3 . I dont think she was sure either. So i gave her the same exact piece of paper that i gave them originally and everything was ok. She apologized. I was furious. This women up rails our life during exam week and demands we do these things or we wont have day care; But i always said i would put up with it because i didnt want to take my daughter away from her friends. But they dont care about that not one bit. Im reporting them to the BBB and see if we can take legal action to get our money back. One more point that i thought was important. They have no real curriculum its pretty much an over priced day care, the child are not taught to sit and write their names to prepare for kindergarten. I would just like to add a quick update. I tried showing my toddler pictures of her new school and she started crying saying she wanted to go to her school so she could see her friends. Thank you again early child development services. Apparently the only people who dont have to pay to keep their spot are the ones who are on government assistance. So thats fair.

I have to agree with those who posted prior to me. My son went here part time for about 2 years,…read moreand my second child, with him, for about 6 months so I know what I'm speaking of. Underpaid? You bet. One of my daughters better "teachers" there left and I talked to her after and she confirmed the horrible pay and working conditions. Trust me. It shows. Take for example my son's "master teacher" for 2 years. A 21 year old who had no college education at all, and when she would leave notes about my son, she would not spell very simple words correctly. Concerning. There's no real education going on here, just be aware of that. Anything he learned he learned from me. Don't know even get me started on the "administration" here, ok, this is where my time with them ended. Their billing department employee has her records all messed up, and I've had "teachers" call me in the middle of my classes telling me the billing lady told them to call me to come pick my children up due to nonpayment, when I had already paid and spoke to the billing person prior! Clueless and unprofessional to say the least. Any correspondence they leave for you financial or otherwise is attached to your child's sign in sheet only, so if you are on a break, or your child is out sick, they just drop your child from the program and tell you sorry, you have to wait another year to get back in, rather than sending a simple letter, phone call or email via the 21st century. In this final straw with them, the enrollment person informed us my daughter was dropped weeks after she was dropped, simply because my other child did not attend for a while and I therefore did not pick up any correspondence pertaining to him. Was told to contact the program director to beg to have her taken back in so I could have help while attending college, I left several messages, and not once did this person have the decency to even return a call or pay us any mind after my kids went there for years. Is this how they display their motto, relationships matter? Well, I'll let you decide. If you have no other choice but to use EDS, good luck, and keep a close eye out! I'm honestly glad to be rid of them, they did us a favor!

The excitement with which my child talks about the day's work, and the enthusiasm for learning that has been instilled, are very encouraging. I truly appreciate the Montessori approach, especially the practical life aspect, which has positively shaped my child's day-to-day habits. I'm also grateful for school's effort to educate parents on the Montessori philosophy and methods, as there is a lot that I have been able to incorporate into my home life with positive results for my family. The teachers were continually patient and understanding with my child, who had long stretches of regularly getting upset during the drop-off time. I would highly recommend Auburn's House to any parent!

Our daughter had been in a traditional classroom preschool setting which included circle time, small group work, and play time. What we started to realize is that she was developing a dislike for learning. She would fuss and not want to stay if we ever arrived at school during circle time or small groups. As an educator and PhD candidate studying Education this really bothered me. Knowing about the Montessori method, I began to search for this curriculum as I felt it might be a better fit for my child. I found Auburn's House and have been so pleased. My daughter is excited to go to school again, and loves to tell us everything she is learning! At school, our daughter is taught in a manner that develops the whole-child. This is very important as we want her to be well-rounded and have a variety of interests. In addition, the school supports the emotional and social aspects of the child that is void in most other settings. This gives her the ability to become an independent learner and explore the world around her. The special attention to the emotional and social skills has turned our quiet and somewhat shy child into a confident and independent child. While we could go on for pages about the benefits of this type of education, especially for preschool age children, the best way to get an idea of what an AMAZING place this school is for children is to visit and watch the interactions between the students and the teachers. It is truly something I never could have imagined after my years in education. Ms. Auburn has a gift, and we have been so lucky to be able to reap the benefits of her gift. Each child is an individual and Ms. Auburn appreciates this and helps each individual to grow on his/her own path. This is so important to us as parents, and to me as an educator. I could not have chosen a better place for my child!
