I just need a little bit of change for my business, $140 worth to be precise. So, I went into the King Street branch, and their flunkee teller couldn't find my business in their system. The manager tried to help her look it up, no dice. After waiting 15 minutes, I'd had enough. They still refused to give me change. Neither the teller nor the manager, Sergio Torrico spoke English as a first language. I told them this was bullshit and walked out. On my way to my next errand, I noticed a SunTrust Bank. I walked in, told them I didn't have an account, and what had happened. They gave me change, and handed me a business card . They told me when I've had enough to bring my business to them. See, common sense banking. I've been banking with the girls who run the Gallery Place branch for nine years, and I'm going to tell them what happened. If no action is taken, I will take SunTrust up on their offer. That sort of customer service is always unacceptable.

I recently had a CD mature there and wanted to redeem it and deposit the funds into the checking account there. Very simple -- right? No so fast !! As I am disabled, I called them in advance to ask them the easiest way to redeem the CD. The answer: there is no easy way. There are five pages of documents and disclosures to sign and they told me (rather rudely) it all had to be done in person and in the branch. They would not even mail, fax or e-mail them to me in advance to read. No exceptions !!! We have already changed a couple of accounts to the M & T office two blocks away where they seem to appreciate their customers. I would suggest the same for others. Or even better go to your local credit union.

I was trying to set up an account online, which kept giving me an error and directed me to the…read more1-800 number or to visit a branch. I tried calling first, and they were not helpful at all and said that their systems are exactly like the online systems. So I went into the branch and they had to call an customer service rep line (unsure if it's only internal or not), but it took forever to get someone on the phone. Their end "solution" was "just try to submit your application online again. It should work." Right... because the first five times worked. I finally got another branch in another state to help me! However, since they were in another state, I needed to send some forms in to make it official. Their inability to troubleshoot caused me to go into their branch three times in two days.
