Unfortunately last month I truly hate to admit it but I was a victim of serious scam and fraud. It takes a lot for me to admit that I fell for this horrible bull shit and I still don't understand how it happened! I will not get into details other than I was trying to make a Zelle transaction to sell a grill I posted. From the very first contact I received from these people turns out to be completely a scam. Once things were in progress and I had a horrible feeling about what was going on I called the fraud department. They put a stop on my debit card and told me to contact my bank for any additional help or answers to questions. This was a Saturday so on Monday I took the day from work and went to my local cscu. They were very helpful! They contacted the fraud department and the branch talked to them and I talked to 2 different people in the fraud department and gave them all the information and details and gave phone numbers to all the people that were involved. I once again was embarrassed and ashamed and completely disgusted in myself for allowing this to happen!!.. But the woman I talked to on the phone that Monday morning from the fraud department assured me that these people are professionals at scamming people and rushing them and confusing them and convincing them to do what they say. It was so confusing and frustrating. She told me that it's not my fault and they will do their investigation and figure this out. Again, I gave them all the contact info and numbers of these people that I dealt with. All in all Copper State credit Union did not back me up and basically said it was my fault and they will not insure the money these scammers took from me. In total I lost $4000. I have lost 4k of my hard earned money that I will never see again because of my stupidity!.. I just seriously cannot believe that I have been a member of this credit union since 2004 and they do not have my back and still have the audacity to tell me " Thank you for your business and look forward to helping you in the future "...: My world got turned upside down and had to close my account down and open a new one after 22 years and out my money!. The only drawback is that some of MidFirsts policies are a tad more abrasive then other institutions. I called to cancel the service only to find they charged me a fee for speaking to someone to cancel the service. Needless to say, I took my money elsewhere and haven't looked back. On occasion, I have checks from Wells Fargo and as there is a location near my house, it is convenient to stop there and cash them. Up until today, they have been cool about it and haven't harassed me too much about becoming a customer. They've followed suit with Chase and now make you go through this ridiculous "check verification" process. The teller sends me over to another teller where I wait in line behind Cowboy Bob who is talking incessantly about his grandchildren. I wait and I wait and I wait. About 15 minutes go by and I start attempting to telekinetically staple the tellers to their desks. One of the tellers notices that I am getting angry and may possibly have a gun in my purse so he sends another teller up to help me. As the guy is verifying the check, he asks me if this is a business check. I say "It's just a personal check." He says "No, what I mean is did someone pay you for a service?" What I want to say: "Yes, I am a very expensive prostitute." What I do say: "It's just a personal check." He then asks me if I'm happy with my bank. I say that I am and he proceeds to ask me why I didn't take my check there. I reply, "Because I felt like bringing it here." We do have a local bank that we don't love. I MIGHT have been open to coming back at some point but if this is how they treat their non-customers, I don't have a lot of hope for how they treat their actual customers. I would hate to think that someone who has every right to cash a check that I wrote them would be put through this kind of hassle. I left before actually stapling a teller to a desk. I deposited 40.00 dollars into a friend's account with a Hispanic surname and I being Hispanic as well, saw how this woman carefully inspected two 20.00 dollar bills. I am a customer and the friend I deposited the money for is a long time customer as well. This is not the first time I see this woman being rude, but being racist is a whole different ball of wax. Also they have awful customer service at this branch.
