I'm shocked that after the unpleasant incident I had with Tony at this location, management chose to keep him on staff. His behavior was rude, disrespectful, and completely unprofessional. This is exactly why this branch has the reputation and reviews that it does. What's especially concerning is that his own coworkers felt compelled to apologize for his behavior, which puts the team in an unfair and uncomfortable position. Why place employees in such an unpleasant situation? Save yourself the trouble and go to the Bird Rock location instead. Unfortunately, this is the only branch open on Saturdays. I went in this bank, as a long time Chase customer, on a Friday asking for "signature guarantee" validation service. There was only one personal banker working and he was busy with a customer. The cashier was very considerate suggested me to write down my name and phone numbers so he would call me back later. A week went by, no phone call whatsoever‍! If I could enter no stars I would. Firstly, it is impossible to reach the bank if one uses their local number. They are always busy, and do not answer the phone. One is therefore forced to use their 800 number, and there are so many questions that you never get to talk to anyone who can help. I was given a banker to call and was told by the manager that the bank did not have a quick way to notify a client that the person was on vacation. This resulted in my calling numerous times to get an answer to my question. A simple voice message saying that the employee was on vacation and to call Mr. X would have sufficed. The manager told me he did not have the ability to do that. In 82 years I have dealt with many banks, but Chase on Girard is by far the worse. Terrible! Nasty clerk man telling us in the most rude way possible that the APPOINTMENT we had made previously - their employee didn't show! What about customer service? Love the people that work there but your bank needs to be refurbished and maintained clean. Your bell to let the teller know that you want to go back to the safety deposit aérea DOESNT WORK FOR 5 YEARS and you don't seem to care. It happened around Christmas time. I was in a hurry to get back to work so I ran to the ATM up the street and took out some cash. When I got back from my break I could hear my cell phone vibrating as I placed my handbag down. I looked at the caller ID and saw that it was a local phone number. It was Karen from this Washington Mutual to let me know that I had left my card in the ATM! I told her I worked right down the street and I would be right there to pick it up. She was so nice and explained to me that another customer before me had done the same thing. When she went to look for his card mine just so happened to be in there as well. Karen went out of her way to look up my phone number and has remembered my name every time I go back into the bank. I will go out of my way to go to this location! read more

The staff at this location have been here for a long time. Every time I go there, I see the same familiar faces. The location is large, more old school and gives a sense of familiarity. It's in a central location close to Warwicks Bookstore. TIP: If parking is bad in the front (which it usually is), go to the back of the bank, there is ALWAYS banking and a back door. Then if you have time, go grab a cup of coffee at the Brick and Bell. You'll feel like a local :) read more

Yesterday was the final straw. I asked to change to a bigger safe deposit box and was told that "corporate" had pronounced that no new boxes could be opened despite having several boxes available. This meant I could not get a bigger box since that would involve closing my old box and opening (no longer allowed per corporate) a new bigger one. Previously Chase created two major problems. First, my mother wrote me a check for a large sum. When I deposited it, Chase put a hold on it. No problem. Unfortunately, my mom wrote the check on the wrong account so it bounced. Again, no problem, Chase took the money out of my account, but (BIG PROBLEM), they also left a hold on for the same amount and I was now overdrawn, per Chase, the full amount of the check less 200 bucks. So now, even though I had a significant positive balance, they claimed I did not and bounced several transactions. In another master piece of service, one of their east coast employees, either negligently or fraudulently, let someone change my account information in what could only be an effort to steal my money. Fortunately, I happened to sign into my account about the same time and noticed the change. A call to Chase 800 number put an end to the attempt, but I had to change account numbers and reset all my sign-in info. I meant to leave Chase long ago but inertia kept me there - but no more. read more

Stay away from this branch. The consumer banker, Chris, will abandon you. The branch manager, Nick, will not help you at all. As soon as you sign the papers it's downhill from there. I opened a personal account and a business account with Chris. They had no problem taking my money to open the accounts. He referred me to Bob at paymentech in Phoenix for credit card processing. I was promised a programmed machine for $355. I can get one online for $95. Eleven days later we received the machine programmed to their needs not ours. Spent over 7 hours dealing with the tech people over the weekend to get it to work. Three days later we unplugged it and went back to Citi with First Data. No one called us to ask what our needs were. Five days later, Allen, from training department called to train us on an unprogramed machine. They took the $355 out of my account. I called Bob to get a refund. Still waiting for two weeks. Called Chris at the branch several times. He won't even return my calls. Talked to Nick to reverse the charges he wont because Chase Paymentech is their own company. No help at all. No service at this branch or any other Chase entity. Stay away!!!!!!!!!! I can't stand this location. Parking can be difficult, but thats normal for the village. There usually aren't very many tellers working and the ones that are working aren't very friendly (with the exception of 1). Yesterday there were only two tellers working and over 10 people in line. Before going to the main part of the review, gotta say that I agree with the previous post about the branch being big and not looking like a spaceship with blue lights. It is old school and has wooden counters that I prefer to the new looks some banks esp. Chase have. All I have done there is depositing money for a friend so this is just about their customer service and being unprofessional. One teller pretty much gave all the info of my friend to me not even knowing who I was! She asked me to show her my ID (I am a female and the deposit slip only had my guy friend's name on it) when I was depositing 200 or 300 dollars thinking that I am the girl he has a joint account with. I told her I wasn't on that account and that it has a guy's name on it. She started blurting some stuff to cover up her goof. Then I asked her if he had a joint account. She said yes and admitted with a wink that "we are not supposed to tell you that!". If I were a secret shopper, she would've been fired. Another girl ran the deposit slip, pulled up the account and asked me if the money is for so and so...? I asked why she was asking such a [dumb] question when the name on the slip (that I filled out at the bank) and the solo account # and the name on her computer all matched? And she said she was just "triple checking" and "just making sure that I (writer of this review) knew"! Knew what??!! That I knew where the money was going? That I knew it was not going to the joint account? That I knew the name and the account I had written on the slip matched?! Triple checking??!! That was a good one! I am done going to Chase.
