Never in my time have I dealt with someone as personable, caring, or delightful as Andy F. He thinks outside the box, offers solutions beyond what is required, and is as caring as they come. If you have an issue or need a good banker, see Andy, there is no one better. Banker for life, as long as I live here and he's at that branch. There are a lot of bad reviews for this branch, but it is my favorite branch. Main manager is kind but slightly reserved, tellers are wonderful and friendly, and Andy creates a contagious energetic positive atmosphere than transcends to other staff members. If they are busy, it is just the wrong hour, usually theres at least two bankers for bigger issues, and usually free unless you come at rush hour. Thanks for the exceptional service Andy! read more

I had such a weird experience a few months ago that still makes me uneasy. An account manager contacted me to suggest moving my funds to savings or a CD. I had agreed to come in for a meeting to learn more about CDs and then the bait and switch happened. Once I was in his office he then suggested I talk to another woman regarding investment banking. He never informed me on CDs. I had agreed to meet with her the next day. That next day we all met where the accountant manager "babysat" us in the female investment bankers office. The vibe felt tense. My instincts literally told me get out asap, but I didn't want to be rude. They suggested I put my life savings into the market and invest for a % of my money. I asked if I should pay off my car etc, and they advised not to. I asked if I had to sell my favorite stock and they said yes. Then the man (account manager) left the room. And the woman in investment banking whispered that I didn't have to do those things and she told me to do them just because he was in the room. The vibe had also shifted. It felt less scary, less controlling. I left feeling weird, seeing now that the man's energy was that of a bully and controlling. The bank itself didn't have my best interest in mind, they only wanted my money. Do not trust the bankers here. The good thing about this is that it lit a fire under me to actually move some of my $. I had a great experience. Chase closed one of my checking accounts after no activity for 60 days. I have my tax refund coming into the closed account. I called the general customer service line and they said they couldn't reopen an account and the branch couldn't even do it. However I tried out the branch and they could do it in under five minutes. They weren't sure why I was told otherwise. Now I'll get my tax refund on time and I might get a branch only promo for the chase sapphire card. read more

What can I say about banks? They are all basically the same, they just use different gimmicks. The checking and savings accounts earn the same amount of interest (read zero) and they all have some sort of rewards program these days. Customer service is the determining factor when choosing a bank and a location. A few things garner this particular location an extra star. The tellers and associated are friendly and helpful. I had to close my savings account today because it was being used to keep track of some college funds and it had served its purpose. I was greeted when I walked in and directed to an associate that closed the account for me in a few minutes. This location also has ATMs that allow deposits without the annoying slips that need to be filled out and you get a photocopy of what you deposited on your ATM slip. read more

I have been banking with chase for over 15 years. I have been going to this particular branch in Mission Viejo for over 7 years and it has always been pleasant with exemplary customer service. Unfortunately, that was then--and this is now. During a recent visit to this branch with my family for the sole purpose of opening another business account, we were looking for Andy F. (Banker) who helped my wife from a previous visit to the branch. However, during this visit we were met by a gentleman banker (can't remember his name). He informed us that Andy was not available since he was on leave. The gentleman happily offered to help open another business account. He also mentioned that he was only at the branch to help substitute for an employee. He invited my family to have a seat in his cubicle. As my family comfortably sat on the chairs in the cubicle a lady named Yima abruptly walked up and assertively told the gentleman helping us "we close at 6pm." She was unpleasant and looked very annoyed that we were being serviced. She was staring at my family with a"size up look". I presumed that it was an indirect message to refuse service to my family. The gentleman who was assisting us unfortunately we cannot be helped because the account would take a while to open. I was in shock and disappointed that these people would treat customers this way. I told the gentleman it was only 5:40pm and that they have 20 minutes until closing. Yima aggressively said with an attitude addressing the gentleman helping us "no we close at 6pm" than telling me "you will need to return tomorrow and to make an appointment. I was surprised and shocked I wasn't aware that appointments are needed to open accounts, through the years I have banked with chase walk-ins are always welcome for new accounts. I was absolutely baffled and disappointed due to the fact that we arrived during business hours only to be refused serviced in a rude and unpleasant manner. As loyal chase clients and as regular customers of the branch this was absolutely disappointing. This was an extremely unpleasant experience compared through all the years my family has been going to this branch than to be treated with horrible customer service behavior is disheartening. This branch is conveniently located close to home and my family has been accustomed to great service with chase. But since this remindful and dreadful experience. I would rather travel miles away if I have to for a different chase branch rather than return to this place who mistreats loyal clients. read more

Ban big banks! I had accounts here, I had to leave when they TOOK all $2,500 in my account to pay an old cc WITHOUT ANY NOTICE. How this is legal, I don't know. Clearly they have power. Ever heard of a gutter summons? Now I have. They took our money (bail outs) to pay their executives fat salaries without oversight or regulation. Then turned around and sold homes from under people, gouged us on fees and rates, took advantage of the American public as much as we allow! I can't say enough about this branch on Alicia parkway. I went in last week and spoke to the relation bank officer Andy Fankhauser. I was having trouble with my account and I was very nervous to go in to talk to anybody about it. He was busy with another gentleman but he would quickly and did his conversation. He came over to me with a very big smile on his face and made me feel calm immediately he asked me to sit down . I told him I was very nervous and I had a very big problem he said no matter what it was not to be nervous. No matter big or small it would be taken care of. And sure enough Andy was the man. He was polite knowledgeable, extremely professional and absolutely courteous and calm he made me feel like I was the only person in the room. I can't thank him enough for all the help he should get a raise immediately. Great location, great bankers, and you will not be disappointed. They actually recently changed up the design inside and it now looks better, bigger, and more spacey. Everyone inside is always very friendly and always spark up a conversation with me asking how my day, week, or weekend is. I enjoy banking with them and there are also ATM's outside which accept checks and/or cash deposits, which is great to save time if there is a line inside and all you want to do is a deposit or withdraw some quick cash. They are always ready to help with whatever you need. My brother previously lost his debit card and was afraid somebody would find it and use it. He called them right away and they took care of everything and gave him a new debit card within less than 2 days! They won't let you down. read more

Reading the reviews of this branch I am scratching my head at the accolades. My experience is - needed $10 cash for the laundromat so I have a lot of $$ in Chase but do not carry debit cards. The employees refused to let me withdraw $10 from my account even though I showed them my cc and id. I called corporate and they said I should have gotten the amount and don't understand how both bank reps confirmed I could not withdraw the amount. They suggested I drive up 2 miles to a "larager" Chase which is ridiculous! Today I have been calling all morning to this branch and being told they are "busy" and call back. I NEVER use yelp ever, but after have two horrible experiences with this chase branch I had to leave a review. No one at this branch seems friendly or willing to help me EVERYTIME I come in there. All I wanted was to close my bank account and the first time I tried to go in their it seemed as though the employees were fighting over who has to take time out of their schedule to assist me which did NOT feel welcoming at all. One of the lady's who was supposed to help me told me she had to deal with something first and would help me shortly... I ended up leaving about 30 minutes later because no one still had helped me. Then I go in their this morning to try again and immediately upon arriving NO ONE welcomes me or asks if I need help so I just take a seat and again after waiting 30 minutes I left the branch. I am so disappointed and decided I'm never going back to this chase bank ever again. I left and went to the Chase off Alicia Parkway and right when I walked in they were so friendly and asked me what I needed assistance with and that they would go ahead and find out how long my wait time would be. Worst Customer Service Ever. Became a customer about eight months ago. Had an issue with mobile deposits and got the run around online (robotic answer that didn't apply to my problem) and on the phone. Went into our branch here in Mission Viejo where we opened the account. Spoke with the branch manager, who was very nice and understanding about our problem, taking notes in his computer and said he would call us the next day. He didn't. We called him the day after that and he wasn't in. Left a message. Never heard from anyone again ever. Closed our checking, savings and credit card accounts, as we said we would if we couldn't get a resolution ... they could care less. Chase at first charged me LOTS of overdraft fees- and made me so mad!!! It was for a supposedly closed account. Then, I called them and explained, and they took the fees off. They no longer offer free checks for personal checking- only if you have a premium checking account- - also they have a 10% service fee unless u have $500 direct deposit. - - So, I will stay with them- only because I am loyal and have been with them for 4 years and they give hot chocolate and lollipops lol read more

Just overall really poor service, personal bankers are never available when you need one, everytime I try to talk to one they have one person working as a personal banker. It's just not the type of service I'm used to from chase, had issues with my savings account and was told by the manager himself that they would send me a new card and it never came, took about 20 minutes just to talk to him a few weeks ago, and always have issues here. Honestly because of this branch I'm closing my savings account here and taking it to Bank of America where they seem to always have at least a minimum of three personal bankers who are always happy to help. Chase corporate needs to take a look at the needs of their customers and help ensure they have enough employees actually working to make transactions smooth and friendly. The only friendly people at this branch seem to be the tellers which they always have at least two working. Then today I had to wait another 15-20 minutes just to speak to a banker again because lo and behold only one of them is working again, and the manager and one other gentleman are just hanging out in the office doing nothing but laughing and ignoring customers. The banking service needs to raise their service level to that which is received from the credit card services and customer support offered. read more
