Extremely disappointing experience with this Chase branch. My appointment was mishandled from the start -- I was told to come in one day, then informed upon arrival it was actually scheduled for the following day. A teller kindly helped squeeze me in, but the process only deteriorated from there. I submitted all required documents the same day and was told to expect a response within 3 business days. I followed up multiple times, including asking for a courtesy confirmation before returning for my scheduled meeting. No response -- from the branch or the designated virtual banker who was looped in as my point of contact. On the day of the meeting, I was told the application could not proceed due to "missing documents," only to find out my emails with all required materials were never reviewed. I explicitly asked for a same-day follow-up to confirm whether the materials could be submitted and reviewed on an expedited basis. That follow-up never happened. I had already rearranged work and personal commitments multiple times based on their guidance. This reflects a complete breakdown in coordination, accountability, and follow-through across the team. Once again, this bank branch disappoints. I came to the bank with a valid government federal government issued ID and I've been banking with this bank for 25 years and it turns out that the one ID that I brought is not acceptable to them. They could not call my regular bank and ask them for support. And they made me wait 25 minutes to tell me that. This bank repeatedly and regularly is anti-CustomerService anti-customer needs and establishing barriers against customers at every opportunity to prevent providing full service. Ehhhhhhh - this review is solely based on the convenience and how irritating Chase is with fees. Don't get me wrong the service here is excellent. What really grinds my gears is that this location has a vestibule, but you can't use the vestibule after hours? What is the point of having the double doors and the outside ATM's that you can't access? On top of that they close down every other location that's near by so you're forced to use an ATM at another bank that charges you a fee then Chase tacks on another fee for using an ATM that's not Chase. Sounds pretty UDAAP-y to me. Fees on fees on fees. A few days ago I went to the ATM and was declined and so I went to another bank. I called Chase and couldn't even log in because my PIN wasn't working. So I went into this location and they said nothing was wrong with my PIN. Then why are you holding my money bro? SHOW ME THE MONAAAAAY! Anyhow, the teller helped me reset my PIN, but still you literally have to move a mountain or pay a fee and sacrifice the blood of a virgin just to get your money. No matter how many tellers are behind the glass (even if there's four people back there) only one is ever helping customers in line. They'll actually see you walk up in line and then put up their sign "next window please" even though they're sitting there with books to read at their desk. And, if by some miracle, you get called up by a second person they then proceed to ignore you for 30 seconds or more before even saying, "oh sorry hold on a second." Seriously, the only legitimate bank in the loin area. Ever since East West shut down, Chase is the last bank standing. I don't count the outdoor BofA and Wells ATM kiosks as a bank. I went in there to take care of some business and yes, there's only one teller on duty. That teller was helping someone else. However, as soon as a line formed behind me, another teller came out and helped. People are super nice here. There's also a security guard on duty - which helps given the neighborhood. read more

Very nice place for a Chase Bank Branch. I absolutely like the fact that the ATM's here at this branch are securely located behind closed doors. The inside and outside of this branch looks clean so that is always a good thing. The staff tellers here are very nice! I had a previous review. Things have changed a bit. Specifically 2 things: 1) there are no longer enough tellers. The lines are long. 2) the employee turnaround is concerning. Two customers and I waited for over an hour. Some bank staff were occupied with other customers but other staff were clearly just chatting away with a customer they knew well. I live nearby and this is the branch I always go to. Big space, relatively clean, and there is usually no wait. Customer service is fair, security person is nice and polite. I have never experienced any problems here. Only negative is that the ATM is open during business hours only (9am-6pm). I came in for a credit card promotion. If you see a teller, they said they would waive the annual fee. After waiting to see a teller for 15 minutes, he seemed confused by the offer but said it'll be taken care of. Wow...great...a Chase Bank so close to my job and so convenient. No longer do I need to walk further to the branch on 8th & Market for my transactions (deposits, withdrawals, using the ATM machines, etc.). There was hardly anybody in this bank...no long lines. I was immediately assisted by the personal banker, Thanh, in his cubicle. Transaction handled in about 5 minutes. He asked if I were interested in a promotion that the bank was offering to its customers - earning a bonus of $100 by making a deposit of $10,000 in an account, and if I were interested in online banking. He was personable, but I have no interest in doing online banking. OG from the old school here does not want to do too many things online...egads so many passwords to remember for different websites...I guess young folks don't think we baby boomers occasionally will get CRS (can't remember sh*t) here and there...lol. read more

This Chase bank is the newest location and a welcome addition to Civic Center/Tenderloin/Hayes Valley. Located on the corner of McAllister & Van Ness, the space is well planned out. A spacious ATM vestibule with 2 ATMs surrounds the outer perimeter of the bank. You do not need envelopes to make deposits in the ATMs. The tellers and office spaces lie just past the ATM vestibule. At night, the bank is very well-lit, both on the outside and inside of the ATM vestibule. read more

This bank and atm is conveniently located on a busy corner right when you enter the city. Parking can be very hard during rush hours so you might be driving a few blocks in circles looking for parking. The lobby area can be trashy sometimes bc of all the receipt paper and all the business they get here so I wish they up kept it better but besides that this is a great bank. read more

I wanted to make a deposit to my sister's account and they told me that I have to have an acct with them in order to make a deposit or deposit in a cashier check . So I told them I will buy a cashier check so I can make a deposit. Then they told me they can't sell a cashier check because I'm not a customer.
