I have had a series of awful experiences which makes banking here almost unbearable. To start ,their fraud department has revoked several payments including my mortgage without reason or notification. I didn't even know it was the fraud department. I only found out after 2 visits to the branch, 4 appointments with IT and 2 with customer service! I have been with them for over 6 years and things are getting worse. I noticed that my credit score dropped from 800 to 760 and wondered why? I have never been late on payments, have great ratios, high income...Come to find out after I pay bills online the fraud departments declines the payments. They are holding my deposits for 10 days. They never gave us problems when we maintained 400k in our accounts, but now they are 100-200k (putting money in Robinhood), they are doing crazy things without explanation. To make sure my mortgage payment wouldn't be rescinded I had a 3rd party call with my mortgage lien holder and Chase. When Chase couldn't make guarantees to Logix Federal Credit union, the Chase rep just dropped the call. We called back and they did the same thing with another representative. I was locked out of my online banking for 3 weeks and even the branch manager was baffled. I feel afraid to keep my money here. read more

This is hands down the worst branch I have ever been to. Since COVID many of the locations are closed and this has been the closest option so unfortunately I have had to do business here. After MULTIPLE unprofessional experiences I feel compelled to leave a review that the customer service is so terrible I am actually considering leaving the Chase Banking brand entirely. I have both personal and business accounts and lines of credit with this bank so the hassle alone has kept me up until this point but the lack of professionalism ranging from the branch manager down to the teller staff is so poor that I am willing to deal with the big hassle and make the change. Something about all these spread-out 1 story retro looking strip malls and actually the whole city reminds me of an "old town" anywhere, actually it feels like Calabasas. A pretty new Chase location it's a smaller connected branch. The parking sucks, but the service is very good. Unlike many Chase locations late morning and after lunch are the busiest leaving rush hour after work pretty dead. It's unlike that because a lot of people in the area live and work close or are older and don't work, so they have the luxury of coming and going while the world goes to work. The ATM area can be tight and even the branch has only a few teller windows. Frankly I've seen bigger bank locations inside Grocery Stores. I wish it was larger and had certain amenities. I feel like the whole place is too open, not enough segregation. I wish chase had more safety deposit boxes at more locations. It's easy to get in from the North, but harder from every other direction as the other entrance to the lot on the south side is pretty wacked. read more

You don't want to go paper-less with Chase bank, once you do yo can never go back. It's not by accident but it's designed so. Once you get your account there, you'll be repeatedly suggested to g paperless. it works for a while but as usual yo have to keep creating new pass words and it' snot your choice, they demand yo to change. once you change often getting back online will be VERY difficult which means you'll have no access to your account information. You'll realize that yo made a mistake to change it to paperless, so you'll want to go back to paper statement but they won't let you do that so easily. In my case, it took 5 months but still didn't get anything in the mail. While i was talking to a representative, the branch manager came out to tell me she wan6ts me out of the building for yelling, but not word of explanation for the paper statement or any question to me, She doesn't know anything about what happened but what she heard from the employee. I can guarantee she'll NEVER talk to her boss about this. She's actually there to block any word from customer getting to the management level. For those of you who thinks banks listen to you, they are not there for that reason but there to get the money from you as much as possible with as little expense as possible. Go to a credit union and have account there, if you can. read more

Ever since I started banking here in June, all of the staff -- from the tellers up to the managers -- have been extremely friendly and helpful. When I first opened my bank account, I was actually on a lunch break from work. I mentioned as such, and both the gentleman helping me open an account and his supervisor, the manager, rushed around trying to get my account open so I could make it back to work on time. I do think this bank is as good as it gets, and should be the standard that all other banks try to reach. This location single-handedly warrants being a Chase member. read more

I called in 2 weeks ago to ask if they had any new bills. Lunar New Year is coming up and traditionally, new bills are considered good luck. I needed to get some for my family and it's really hard to get new bills in my area. I usually have to go to like 4 different banks months ahead of the holiday to find a couple of fresh bills. It's a good thing I work nearby and the Chase Bank is only a 5 minute walk away. I called them, and they didn't have any, however the staff there told me they'll put in an order for me. It wasn't a guaranteed, but I appreciated the effort. They called me on the day the order was supposed to come in, and unfortunately they didn't receive any new bills. Next week, they called me back to let me know that they got lucky and new bills came through and they took my denomination and request by phone. When it came in the next day, they had it all ready in an envelope for me, with the denomination that I gave them over the phone, and my name and phone number all written out. And they even gave me some free extra "red envelopes" for the New Year. They even gave it in the strange combination that I wanted (I wanted it to add up to 888, because that's a lucky number. Fun fact: when China hosted the Olympics on 8/8/8 back in 2008, it was because that's a lucky combination. I felt like Esther and the rest of the staff personally took care of me like a private client. Thank you so much for helping me complete my holiday! read more

This is a pretty good branch located in old town SJC, very historic looking building, not your typically "bank" building. Usually only 2 tellers open during lunch time, but I've never experienced a line. The loan officer, Alex Yu, is very friendly, engaging, and thorough, even though I didn't end up going with Chase for my mortgage, I had a good experience dealing with Alex. The ATMs at this branch are in the path to the front entrance, with a very narrow walk way, if there are more an 2 people at an ATM, it gets crowded and I would to walk around to get to the entrance, if I were using the ATM I wouldn't want some guy squeezing in behind me... read more

Chase bank has gone down hill fast in customer service . I am not writing this over one incident .There has been several times I have walked into the bank and the tellers and the JP Morgan Investment banker are chatting away. Only to have to stand and wait for them to finish there personal conversations. I don't know who the guy in the blue suit is but he reeks of smoke. I have been a Chase customer for over 30 years and this branch is the worst. I have had several home loans with them 7 I think all paid in full. I went in with approx. $40 dollars in change. I was told we do not have a change counter. Fair enough.. but when there are over 6 Chase members doing nothing kinda of bad manners to say the least. The JP Morgan investment banker should go back to Laguna Hills . She is plain rude and lazy pretty obvious she really does not need new business. I went to Chase twice to open a business checking and cc account. I had done research online, but Chase requires you to go in person to open the account. The first time I went it was a Saturday. I was told while the bank was open that no one was available to help on the business account. I thought it was odd and annoying, but okay, Saturday. so I came back today (tuesday). I arrived with all my paperwork and was told that Esther, who does business accounts leaves at 5. Okay, but I arrived at 4:45. I asked If I could get stared and was told No that I would need to schedule an appointment for another day. WHAT? I have a check for $10k in my hand, all my paperwork, it's my second visit to your bank and still you won't help me? No thanks Chase, I won't be back. read more

My father recently passed away. It fell to me to close his safe deposit boxes which were located about an hour's drive away. We wanted to close them on a Saturday and I knew I may need to make an appointment. I called the public number shown on Google and got a recording saying they didn't have staff available to answer and that I should call the 800 number. So I called the 800 number and I was told I had to talk to the branch. I was then transferred to the same number with the recording. I called the 800 number again and asked them to have someone at the branch call me back. They said they couldn't do that. I asked them to email the branch telling them I need to make an appointment. They said they couldn't do that either. They said I should stop into the branch (an hour away) to make an appointment. I tried to call a local branch and got the same recording. For 2 weeks I kept trying. We finally just drove up to the branch and as I feared she had another appointment and couldn't help us with closing the boxes. I had planned to open a trust account with them, but I refuse to do business with a bank that is so impossible to communicate with. I don't always have people's direct numbers with me. This is not a staff issue. It's a management issue. So I not only closed the boxes, but also closed a sizable account and moved it to a more hospitable bank. read more

I've had accounts at five different banks. I've dealt with bank tellers in at least 10 different states, and I've been through thousands of interactions with tellers. Never has someone made such a personal slight to me as when I tried to open a savings account yesterday with the manager at the SJC branch. The rudeness possessed by this particular branch manager, in making a purely business problem of mine a personal issue, was more than the hard sell for a checking account, she snubbed me my by writing down the wrong balance on a withdraw form of mine to cause me a problem at the teller line. Bank tellers don't make mistakes like that. Often times people bend the truth in their Yelp reviews. I would like to assure you that I have done no such thing. read more

I deposit checks on several days and can't use the atm because it's a business account for my employer. 9-10 teller Windows and usually only two open even if the wait line is thru the door. The wait time is ridiculous. I was sitting in the waiting area to see an agent without anyone coming up to check in with me and let me know the wait time. I had to go to an agent to ask, with a very abrupt response. I have had much better, and more immediate service at other Chase locations, with a much more attentive staff. It is not a busy enough day to warrant that kind of wait for clients. Better communication and attentiveness goes a long way too. read more

I love Chase because it is the easiest bank I've ever experienced. Banking with Chase is ridiculously convenient, as well as the most compromising of overdraft fees. You can deposit a check just by taking a picture of it, there's no charge for student accounts, and they forgive overdraft fees usually if it's "automatic bill pay" related. One time I had forgotten the exact day my auto insurance was due and didn't have enough in my account to pay the bill because I was to be paid the next day. Chase covered the balance to make sure the insurance was paid, and forgave the fee when I deposited the money. I was so grateful too; it was embarrassing to expect money to be in the account when it was actually negative. This bank doesn't treat people with respect based on their account balance, which I think is very evolved for a bank nowadays. Lot's of people's account balances fluctuate regularly...that's not a sin. I rarely need to come inside for my business, but when I do the tellers are very friendly and they always have suckers for the kids. read more

I want to commend Client Banker, Lorraine B. who handles trusts, and the more complicated financial banking matters for this branch. After my Dad's recent passing, as executor, I was tasked with the many fiduciary responsibilities outlined in his trust. Lorraine was so helpful in guiding me through, and executing certain aspects regarding donations and the wire transfers. Working with our financial planner to set up new trust accounts, taking care of an issue with check printing, and being available to answer so many questions. I have full confidence in her knowledge and abilities. The professionalism and caring that she shows, is the hallmark of what this Chase Bank branch's commitment to the customer is all about. My Dad loved coming here, as the friendly tellers always filled out the various slips for him. He didn't have a card with a pin, just his ID, as he liked to transact everything "old school". Branch Manager, Olivia T. has expertly assembled a great team here. They also have public restrooms at this location, a nice plus. If you make an appointment, there is no long wait for your other banking needs, (hint hint). Parking and access are usually not difficult, except at the noon rush hour sometimes. read more
