First time visitor! The street parking situation leaves A LOT to be desired, but is typical of the area (and it was free on the weekend). I was greeted the moment I entered. I overheard the person that greeted me tell someone they were short staffed today. This type of communication should not take place in the open "public" space. Or, you should tell each customer as they enter so everyone is on the same page. This was a bit discouraging and made me think my wait would be much longer. The person that greeted us spoke Spanish to someone coming after me. I thought this was AWESOME that she was able to help the person in the language with which she was most comfortable. To my immediate right (upon entering), an employee was helping a customer in a restaurant styled booth area. I didn't like/would not like to have absolutely no privacy while conducting business. There are floor to ceiling "windows" that appear to be walls. But these are actually curtains. The curtains go up when/if a transaction is needed. I thought this was cool and created an added safety feature. There are also glass offices where other tellers worked. My experience... I will NEVER return to this location as there is no privacy and the customer service/protection of customer personal information is nonexistent. I got stuck having to conduct my transaction at the dreaded restaurant styled booth!!!! I had to tell the teller to stop repeating my personal info (name, address etc) loud enough for the entire bank to hear (he was not talking loud, there was just no privacy). All in all, I was in and out pretty quick, but will never return to this location. read more

I needed a business account for a new business I began last year and chase has a great deal. They will give you $300 if you deposit 1000 in within 20 days and maintain a balance of 1500. They have some fees that I was concerned about, but all in all they seem like a good bank. Only time will tell. They only expose their teller if you need to do something financially elaborate. Otherwise they expect you to deposit and use the atm and basically be your own banker. I will let you know if I like this concept. read more

Awful location and no parking. This Branch has great customer service but the inconveniences far out way any positives. The atm is closed during non business hours(I have no idea why). If you make it difficult to get my cash out of the bank because you can't pay a security guard or keep the customers safe then I need another bank. Get it together or close this location. read more

I've had very positive experiences here. First, Seth, who manages the branch, is wonderful. He really cares about customers and the service the bank provides. I've seen him interacting with others at the bank--he treats everyone with the same level of attention and care. The business account representative is very patient and thorough. All the personnel provide a comprehensive overview of the different accounts and services so you know what you're getting. Happy they are here in the DMV area. read more

I feel and know I was a victim of racial profiling at Chase Bank In Downtown Silver Spring,MD. I received my grant into my account yesterday morning in the amount of $10,000, so I decide that day to make a cash withdrawal at Chase Bank in the amount of $7,000 to make some payments. When I get to the bank and tell them I want to make a withdrawal they automatically direct me to the ATM when I tell them the amount it immediately become a stare down and discussion among the associates, they take my Driver's License and Bank Card, and tell me to have a seat. After about 15 the teller is ready she and her exact words were " A withdrawal of this large amount I need to look into so hold on just a moment" so I wait again, then she says to me that the funds hadn't cleared. So I question her as to why they are showing available online and she says well I can't give you the money. So I tell her I will be back tomorrow. I go back on the mid morning of July 10th 2020 and when I get there everything seems very odd and the branch manager immediately runs out of his office and tell me to have a seat in his office, and that's when the interrogation began. He took my bank card and drivers license like if he was going to look up my account, then he said you need to answer these questions and do not lie to me or you are not getting your money, 1: What bank gave you this check? I replied it's NOT a check it's a Grant deposited to me. He said I called and they said they never issued you any money who gave you this money? I said I applied for this Grant Online. He proceeded to call me a liar and I said that I don't owe him any explanations that is my money and I wanted him to withdrawal it. He continued to harass me and tell me no not until I tell him which bank is issued me the money. I explain to him again and again that I applied for the grant online and he continued to harass me and to tell me that if I did not answer his questions he would freeze my account. I suffer from severe anxiety,PTSD and Bipolar Depression so I began to cry because I felt an anxiety attack building so I called my husband so could assist me in talking with the Branch Manager who then thought it was ok and began to interview my husband and question him as to why this amount of money was in my account. I was so upset at this point I made threats to call the police and he replied call them I'm not scared. So after hours had passed and he refused me my money, ID and Bank Card, The Branch Manager saw me having a conversation with the Chase Corporate Offices, the he decided to call the police on me. The Police finally got there which they mediated a conversation that was controlled by the branch manager and his manager that was one the phone in a different office and he stated that the money that was transferred into to my account was fraud ( mind you this was a Grand from the US Government and came directly from the United States Treasury) and needed to be investigated so the police officer and the branch manager pretty much strong-armed me into writing a statement as to where I applied for this loan ( so basically the website) names of people I know that have applied for the same loan, just so that he would return my ID and bankcard and he continued to say that my account would be frozen and the money was not mine and would be under investigation. I was so upset I just wrote the statement because I wanted to leave. I was not under arrest nor was there a police report written. However Seth did have the Balls to tell ask my husband to come back so he could help him get a PPP Loan smh. When I left I decided to follow up with the Chase corporate office which I already had called to start a complaint they tell me that they have decided to close my account because of what happened at the branch and my account was under investigation requested by Seth Asante the Branch Manager. I continue to ask them what would happen to my money and they said it was no longer mine and it was under investigation. I told them I wanted something in writing and the person I spoke with at the Corporate Office who was taking the complaint just scoffed and said "yeah you won't be getting that." Needless to say I have lawyered up and contacted all new outlets including a few DC Congressman! All because I didn't fit Chase Bank's description of a person who would withdraw $7,000. What I do know is that Branch is Corrupt! Especially the Branch Manager Seth Asante he is also very racist against the Latino Community. One of his comments comments were "you think your the only one trying to scam, I had 2 Latino brother Uber drivers also come in here with the same thing and we restricted their account also!" read more

Chase believes its new found method of "alienating" its customers from its cashiers/tellers is probably the best way of ensuring good customer service however it is one of the most pathetic methods ever adopted by any banking institution. I was charged an $8.00 fee on a retirement check I cashed because I'm not an account holder-which I found to be extremely ridiculous. The agent that took my check and ID to some unknown section of the banking hall was less personable to say the least. That is one of the key reasons I do not bank with Chase and I'm seriously closing all my accounts with the two traditional banks that I currently have. read more

Horrible customer service. The only good factor there are people standing in front who are friendly and accommodating. Opening a business account was like pulling teeth. I wish instead of coffee they were offering better customer service training. I was only missing one piece of information that needed to be printed but the person did not refer me to a fedex across the street or let me use their printer. Instead I was asked to come back the next day. It was actually the front person who suggested that I run to fedex not the person who was opening my account. I was not given initial checks after opening the account or explained why I wouldn't be getting them. I was not even provided with a routing number on the spot after opening. These people act like it's me who needs their business and not vice versa. No wonder all of them get replaced by machines now and thats probably why chase doesn't invest in training them better read more

After wasting an hour trying to get documents notarized at my crappy banking institution (Bank of America), I went to chase. I had an appointment with my bank but the person refused to notarized my documents because he "wasn't sure he could". What?! I know that most banks require an appointment but I walked into Chase and explained my situation. They told me they usually work via appointment and the notary person was currently busy but they would check to see if he could squeeze me in. Christopher, the notary on staff, agreed to see me after he was done with a call. I waited less than 10 minutes and he notarized my documents immediately thereafter. All of the personnel were courteous and professional. I am going to happily say goodbye to BoA and become a Chase customer after this experience. read more

The very worst customer service I have ever experienced! I went to the Silver Spring branch to open a business account. Ten minutes into the conversation I was told I had to deposit $1000 to open the account. I did my research and there was no where stated on Chase's website that $1000 was needed to open a business account. The banker tried to explain to me by pointing out the $2000 monthly balance needed to bypass the monthly fee and his justification made no sense. The branch manager came in to explain and boy did he put on a show!!! He made absolutely no sense... Clearly they are making up rules depending on who the customer is and how they feel. I left without opening an account and went to another Chase branch. This time... I received exceptional customer service and not once was I asked about depositing $1000. Not sure what is going on at the Silver Spring branch but they need to be trained on their product and customer care. Most importantly, they need to stop not making assumptions about customers and stop talking about what other customers do! Disgusted! read more

This branch /or bank as a whole is so ineffective of basic banking services. I came in and several people were standing around waiting to be helped and there was no one there to greet or acknowledge my presence when I arrived. So because there's no actual bank teller insight there's just a living room style of furniture I sat down and eventually hoping to get an employees attention. The bank manager didn't acknowledge me when I was next in line and when it finally sat down with a banking advisor he shrugged his shoulders as a response to my already aggravating situation. Bottom line is, no one here knows how to provide good customer service or handle basic financial transactions. This is not the standard of Chase I'm used to. Word of advice chase, go back to the old style of banking and efficiently train your employees if you want to keep your customers. read more

I had the opportunity open my first checking account with my mother. I had a fantastic experience with the bank I was welcome by Seth at the door he gave us a nice welcoming he asked us for our name and offered us a seat in the lobby. He introduced us to a banker called Kevin. As a new customer to chase Kevin made banking easy with me and my mother especially with their technology ( chase mobile app) as my mother is new to technology, so Kevin took some time to share with my mother on how to use the app my feel in love with the bank after multiple questions my mother asked Kevin. Seth (branch manager) later on came in and thank us for choosing chase and gave us a genuinely welcome and made us felt in love with the branch he also engaged a nice conversation with my younger sister he also gave us a gift of appreciation (coffee mug). I highly recommend branch manager Seth and banker Kevin to all the community in sliver spring. read more

Seth K. Asante (Branch Mangager) and Christopher Martin (Relationship Banker) are running a joke of a store, unorganized, uninformed and unprofessional. I called to the branch 3 times to make sure i had required documents and identification for opening business checking account. Christopher Martin made up information without actually knowing, Seth K Asante attempted to back up his associate with insufficient information as well. I do not understand how such a profound organization can run such a shit show or a banking operation. I sat at the branch from 9:30am to what is now 12:05pm and i am still waiting to resolve my issue. After speaking with Seth Asante he told me to wait for another representative because he had an appointment so i am left waiting in the lobby after 2 1/2 hours of not having any progress . I specifically called Christopher Martin on monday asking specific questions regarding my business matter. After following up on Tuesday he assured me he has spoke with his branch manager and that I was equipped with all the documentation I needed to move forward. On Wednesday i came in for my appointment in which i spent around 75 minutes with Christophe Martin in which at the end he "all of a sudden" found out he was incorrect, meaning that he never actually reached out to anyone for adequate information or that the entire branch staff is not properly trained on business checking procedures and requirements. If I had not asked a total of 6 times they would of pulled my credit while lying to me saying they would not. Samuel Ofori and his wife in germantown are the only two people I will continue business with in this area of maryland. This is my very first time stepping into a chase branch and I now regret ever doing so, I was due to work hours ago so I have not only lost time but NOTHING was accomplished. read more
