This really is just a toy store, but if you have littles, this is a great stopping point on main street. We popped in and they have almost everything you'd see at Toys R Us. Right in the middle of Chatham's very sweet Main Street you will find Chatham Children's Shop. Every square inch of this store is jam packed with toys, games, clothing, books and anything you could possibly think of for your little darlings. They also have some cute hand crafted things up front near the cash register. We bought an adorable hair clip that some creative person put together with pink ribbon in the shape of a whale. read more

Beautiful and unique children's clothing. Have purchased from them many times. It can be on the pricy side but not too bad and sometimes good deals (got my sisters baby Frye boots at 75% off as an example). They also have some nice artwork which I adore and have in my home. Salespeople are friendly but not overbearing at all. read more

Nice toy store in downtown Chatham. Not only toys, but clothing too. Higher end clothing including sweaters, onesies, jackets, shoes. The toy selection was nothing extraordinary, but had a nice cross section of toys for all ages. Staff was pleasant. Not a huge place, so there was not too much room to play with any of the toys. It's unpleasantly surprising to have toys on display and children not allowed to touch them. We left promptly after my 18 month old grandson was told "this isn't how it's done here" after he touched a toy displayed on the floor. The clothes are cute but leave your kids at home this is not a rainy day place for families at the beach. Go to the nearby duck store they love kids!! read more

Awful experience. I've taken my kids to this toy store for over ten years, with EVERY trip to Chatham we make, multiple times every summer. This afternoon me & 2 of my children were ready to make a purchase (well over $100.) & my polite 10 year old son, politely asked the man behind the counter if he had a trash bin he could throw away his paper cup? The man behind the counter said: NO! (And then instructed my son to walk half way up the block and throw his cup out there in the public trash bin. I then said; wait...what do you want him to do? He then repeated and I said that's absurd! And he then weakishly shrugged his arms and said, we don't have a trash bin here we only recycle! I said: Great! It's not even plastic it's paper! The man then said; well I can't take it I have no way to take it. Huh?! Wait?! What?! Needless to say I didn't end up purchasing anything, and my special trip to the toy store was ruined. I will NEVER step foot in this place ever again. It's also worth mentioning that the store up the street that sells a few toys, dishes etc. (same side of street)! The gentleman in there could not have been kinder, with no mention of my awful experience at the Chatham Toy Store, this lovely man/employee offered to cut tags off of the stuffed animals we purchased as well as dispose of the trash! Also I'm curious how does the Chatham Toy Store dispose of the sulafane wrappers - and other non recycleble shipping and packaging parcels that their products are shipped and delivered in? read more

Rude staff. We were about to pay and had or dog with us (many stores are dog friendly and f there was a sign I missed it). There was someone there loading boxes in a tiny store and we were In the way (you know looking for things to buy and give them our money). The man had smiled at us before and seen our dog but I think he ended up annoyed he was trying to move boxes as we were shopping and he rudely told us dogs weren't allowed. I was just paying so we could be on our way. After that we left empty handed. A polite no dogs please when we entered would have been understandable but 5-10 mins after we entered and were paying what good does it do. Also here's an idea - don't be stocking inventory in the middle of the day on a holiday weekend. read more

Very rude staff. We were about to buy a pair of sunglasses for my two year old, when we were sent away because my daughter was holding a candy. I understand the "no food" policy, but this is ridiculous. She even suggested we took the candy away from my kid. Seriously? We'll never set foot in the store ever again... read more

GREAT selection of toys!!! Stuff you won't find just anywhere. It's a small store but they have really utilized their space. Great staff, too!!! I'm doing all my christmas shopping here next year! read more
