We don't often pop in but decided to stop by while walking up and down Franklin Street. I had bought a pair of (expensive) socks from them years ago, and on a whim I bought a similar pair. I purchased a new suit for an upcoming wedding. When I picked the suit up it had 2 chalk marks on the sleeve. I pointed it out and Hunter said he would steam it out. He returned with the suit in a garment bag. When I got home I took it out and there were now 2 black marks where the chalk marks used to be. I returned to the store the next day and showed it to Hunter and he said it would come out once it was drycleaned. Honestly, I was shocked he didn't offer to have it dry cleaned. I just spent $1000 on a suit, shirt, tie, etc and he told me I would need to take it to get it dry cleaned. So before I wear the brand new suit I just purchased from you, that you marked up, I have to pay to have it dry cleaned? He said "yes". I asked to speak to the manager and fortunately the manager had enough customer service acumen to do the right thing and save some future business. So, avoid Hunter at all cost - ask for Ben instead. (I originally worked with Ben but when I returned for the fitting Ben was on vacation and due to the timing of the wedding I coudn't wait for him to return - unfortunate for me). P.S. After the shirt I purchased was tailored one sleeve was longer than the other. I get it - those things happen - but Hunter seemed absolutely lost when it came time to measure the sleeve to be adjusted and stuck a pin in the cuff of the shirt multiple times before he even acknowledged he probably shouldn't be doing that.

One of the owners ended up helping us out and he was fantastic. Great customer service--not pushy, but they definitely know what they're talking about and are very helpful. They also provide free tailoring when you purchase any of their suits. Although I do not wear men's suits myself, I'd highly recommend this business to anyone who is in need of a new suit or men's dress wear. "Rough-looking" is a massive understatement for the condition of my boots, so I went to Ealdwine for some shoe polish, and saw that the product had changed quite a bit over the past few years. I had a few questions about leather conditioner, how much polish to use, etc. (stuff like that), and Mr. Gray took the time to show me everything, on my boots at that. The difference is tremendous, and I'm not JUST talking about how my boots look now. For a business owner to take time out of his day, literally get his hands dirty, and go to such lengths for a customer who might come to Raleigh every five years or so... It speaks volumes about Mr. Gray as a person and business owner. I'm now more informed, equipped with some really good polish, and won't feel so embarrassed about wearing beat-up boots with a suit. Another cool thing, assuming most will be looking/shopping for more than shoe polish, the store's beautifully designed, and chockablock with some of the finest in men's clothing and beautiful footwear. Mr. Gray personally helped with the design in many of the latter (Alden's handmade in Massachusetts), so I definitely feel like I was in good hands, and had definitely come to the right place.
