I saw a cool functional piece (cool, but which I have no use for) and was going to take a picture to show it to a friend who might actually be able to buy/use it. The guy saw me take out my iphone and snapped "no pictures! The artists want you to BUY their work, not photograph it." I think it's questionable to have a "no photos" policy when really, someone might want to consult a spouse (the thing I was looking at was about $400) or suggest a purchase for a friend but if that's the policy, put up a sign and don't be a jerk about it. On the way out he added "this is an art gallery, not a gift shop." Lovely.

Living in Chicago, it's not the easiest commute to get to Chatham so I called the store, spoke to Liz and explained what happened. With no questions asked, she found the same bracelet and promptly sent it my way. Add to the fact the little store is adorable - I will definitely be going back here on my next visit to the Cape!

Found this gem during the Christmas by the Sea stroll in Chatham and…read more what a find. This store has really great and unique gifts / merchandise. The customer experience was outstanding. I purchased a book and unfortunately either in the store or during the stroll it was misplaced. I retraced my steps and couldn't find it. It was a special gift. I went back to the store to see if someone had turned it in. I explained the situation to a gentleman who I believe is the owner. He graciously offered to replace the book at no cost to me. What an early Christmas gift.
