Found this gem during the Christmas by the Sea stroll in Chatham and what a find. This store has really great and unique gifts / merchandise. The customer experience was outstanding. I purchased a book and unfortunately either in the store or during the stroll it was misplaced. I retraced my steps and couldn't find it. It was a special gift. I went back to the store to see if someone had turned it in. I explained the situation to a gentleman who I believe is the owner. He graciously offered to replace the book at no cost to me. This place is so cute. Chatham town is a really quaint New England town. During COVID-19, there are signs to wear masks while on Main Street during business hours. Most people were compliant. This shop restricted number of shoppers to 6, provided hand sanitizer at the door and requested you leave drinks outdoors. The items are cute, such as books, travel friendly souvenirs and local art. I came in looking for the Cape Cod bracelet, yes, you know the one. The signature screwball on top of a stiff sterling silver band. I moved to Texas and wanted something to help me remember my fond memories in Cape Cod. The woman who helped me allowed me to try on a few sizes, talked about her own bracelets and was not pushy when I said I would be back. I checked out another store and it was double the price...so we headed back to Artful Hand. They did not have the size I needed so offered to mail it to me the next day. Three days later, I got my bracelet in the mail with an additional charm (silver seashell with the word peace engraved on it). also to be clear, I bought a LeStage Cape Cod bracelet which is not the Eden Cape Cod Screwball bracelet--the original creator of the bracelet. Either way, I am now an owner of a bracelet that if you know and recognize, represents the summers in the Cape in New England. read more

We try to visit the Cape every summer and we make sure to visit the Artful Hand Gallery whenever we visit. This year I wanted to purchase a bracelet from their beautiful collection but wanted it in a different color gold then what was available in the store. Joe reached out to the specific designer to made sure it could be made in the precious metal that I preferred and diligently followed up to make sure the bracelet would be the right size and be done to my liking. The bracelet turned out to be gorgeous, Joe made the whole experience very pleasant and was dilligent in his follow up and follow through. I would highly suggest that you add the Artful Hand Gallery to one of your 'must visit' places when visiting the Cape, as they have wonderful items and deliver excellent customer service. read more

This is the type of store I looooove to find when I am wandering around during my travels. It is my idea of perfection and I could spend so much time here. I walk in and immediately see adult coloring books and very unique and interesting books for travel and food. Porcelain, artwork, bird houses, jewelry, cards, a few beauty items...so many things! Some are mass produced items but are still very unique but a lot of things are from local artists and such. Just when you think you have seen everything you look at a different shelf and are blown away but what is there. Everything is priced very well too and there are high end items and smaller collectibles for those of us with great taste but a more modest budget as well. Obnoxious older male employee. My son was looking at Cape Clasp bracelets on the counter. (He actually owns several that he's purchased directly from Cape Clasp, and was wearing one on this particular day.) The male employee approached my son and immediately asked if my son had "taken" the bracelet he was wearing. My son was extremely taken aback, and noted to the employee that the store doesn't even have the style of bracelet he's wearing and the employee confirmed. Seriously? Accusing a shopper of taking something because they happen to be wearing something 'similar' to what the store carries? I'm absolutely disgusted and have told several friends and colleagues of this unpleasant encounter. Needless to say we will never even 'shadow the door' of this establishment. Many other lovely stores on Main Street in Chatham that treat people with respect rather than accusations. read more

Alas, this a Gallery that remains in business despite owing many artists. In my case, they owe me over $1200 for work they received when they were in Boston...over 5 years ago. They refuse to reimburse me and to respond to many messages and calls. read more
