This place is tucked away in a corner of Columbus, but it's worth putting on your radar. There's not a huge selection of beers, but they have variety in their list such that anyone can find something they'll like. They even have different flavored ("super pumped") seltzers, as well as pizza offered by the food truck posted outside. There is seating available both indoors and outdoors. I'm really sad I'm only visiting and not actually a local because the "Coming Soon" section of the menu highlighted some really cool fall drinks that I would love to try. Located in downtown Columbus, GA, situated in what appears was once a warehouse, Chattabrewchee (I love the name) is open and welcoming. They have what appears to me a homegrown fence, heftily made out of 4x4s that cordon off the entrance from the parking lot. On this particular night, we were warmly welcomed by the barkeep, who was so very friendly and patient with us, as we had plenty of questions before we made both of our choices. The brews we had this evening varied from their Gose, to a porter, a stout, and a Belgian white - all were very good. I feel like the day I walked into Chattabrewchee brewery was one of my luckiest days. How often do you find a fantastic local place with amazing atmosphere and incredible beers? Don't answer that, I know it's not often at all, but today I am here to tell you that you found that place! I am so happy to discover this local gem! The bartenders and owner are some of the nicest people I've met, and the beers they make are top notch craft beers. I especially love their attention to detail with unique flavors and quality beer. Good because: I appreciate local businesses with nice employees. Decor outside is cute and parking lot is roomy. Seemed to support under-represented population segment with June indoor decor, so that was awesome. Also, ownership or management changed, thankfully. Improvements hopefully pending. Beer quality was very, very poor. Tried everything. All beers were flat, warm, watery, with odd flavor of soap in one, a strange sharpness in another, and one had the flavor of feed grain. Such a neat space! It's in a parking lot with two vintage shops. The space has games/cards. It has a few stouts, blondes, and IPA's; 9-10 beer selections but they were good. We tried the lighter beers. My favorite was the honey one. The Ocktoberfest was good too. The overall vibe was chill and they have popcorn with different toppings . It's veteran owned which is great. Love this Brewhouse! I was greeted by the brewmaster, Greg, and walked through the self serve process. So fun! He even answered my questions about the different brewing processes. Better yet: when my to-go order was ready, he walked to the restaurant to deliver it to me. What service! My dog and I sat on the patio and took in the sunshine, plants and sounds of the town while enjoying our much-needed rest stop on our road trip. After serving gatorade to our police i went to chattabrewchee and ordered a cold one. I asked the bartender to put on her mask, she was obviously perturbed and finally complied. I told her that IF the Ga State Patrol came in and saw her unmasked they would be fined. I went outside and was approached by the owner who told me to "get off his property". When I asked why he said because of my comment about the mask wearing. He called ,not one but two , police officers and had me escorted off "his" property! At 65 I dont even have a speeding ticket so I was SHOCKED when they arrived!!! My father is a WW2, KOREA AND VIETNAM VETERAN WITH ALZHEIMERS and am his caregiver. My concern is HIS survival not the opinion of the owner. Who I found out is a veteran!! The Ga State Patrol was called and they were fined!!! SHAME ON YOU FOR YOUR SELFISHNESS AND LACK OF CONCERN FOR THE PUBLIC!!!! read more

Really great local and veteran owned brewery. They have a big selection of beer which rotates every few months. They just opened up their patio area which is nice when you want to sit outside and enjoy the small town atmosphere of West Point. All the employees are nice and super helpful. They have different events going on depending on the day. They offer beer yoga, trivia nights and live bands. It's nice to see the various locals who come in and enjoy this place. The payment system is a little hard to get the swing of but once you do, it's kinda nice. You get a cars that you can load and use at the dispensers and pour what you like. It's nice to sample a few different beers before you pick your favorite. If you are in the area, give this place a try! read more

Cool place, great beer, awesome people. Located just off the square in West Point this is a great place to stop in with friends for a few delicious beers. The staff here are really friendly and informative about the brewing process what's on tap and things that are up and coming. They have a card system here where you pre-load credits onto a card then use the self pour machine, it works really well and gives you the opportunity to sample some excellent beers. My company had their holiday party here, and the space is what you would expect from a small craft brewery (that said, I did not expect to find a small craft brewery in Columbus, so their existence already exceeded my expectations). They're very generous with the beer samples here, which I appreciated as an indecisive customer (Brooklyn!!! Take note!) and the owner had some good recommendations when I described what I was looking for. Also some great range in their selections - they had stouts, sours, and the requisite IPAs. This is a really cool place. We were in Valley, Alabama from Memphis to attend a family member's funeral when hubby and I had to get out and get away from the family drama. It was about 4 p.m. and we decided to tour the area and crossed the Georgia border in a matter of minutes. We saw this storefront that said Chattabrewchee with a chalk board sign outside that said "we're open". Yep, hubster saw the brewery inside and we had to stop. I will start by saying I am NOT into beer in the least and unfortunately, I was not swayed here. However, I loved it! You are welcomed by a very nice gentleman who is the co-owner of the establishment with his wife who he very proudly states is an active duty female and because of her status was not there. He explains the process of picking the beer that suits you. You see, this is a self serve brewery which requires a card. You pay the amount you would like credited to your card, and then you go to a wall of beer choices, put the card in the slot of the one you want and pull the tap. As you approach the beer wall, you are greeted by the nicest person(s) who helps you figure out the system and which type beer you want to try. There are usually more options to choose from but that day we could choose from seven...each with it's own distinctive taste espresso, chocolate, blackberry, raspberry, etc... As I said, I am not a beer drinker and after paying for a small sample of each, I never changed my mind about the taste of beer. BUT, my husband loved it! They don't serve food and you would think that would deter people from coming in but each table has take out menus for all kinds of food from places around town and you can have the food delivered at the brewhouse. Cool idea, huh? Not being able to drink was not an issue because I thoroughly enjoyed the atmosphere and the live music was phenomenal. People and their pets just visited, played jenga and and hung out while listening to Corbin Hoats strum his guitar and serenade everyone. This is definitely my favorite little brewery in Georgia! The self serve taps are bringing Georgia into the big beer world in a high tech way. However, the staff keep the southern charm and grace as small town Georgia dictates. To top that all off, the beer is great! They are inventive and fun with their cucumber basil cream ale and a *white* coffee stout.. yes, it's actually a light colored stout and it's awesome. They also earned a silver medal for their IPA (for Georgia). Oh, and they have their own delivery service for food. As soon as we walked in, we were immediately greeted by the brew master, Doug, and the owner, Mike. Doug explained the self-serve iPad and card that costumers use to pour their own samples or pints. It's ingenious! You don't have to wait for a bartender or waitress, just get it yourself and as much as you'd like. We came here with our three daughters (all under the age of 7) and Mike immediately offered to make them popcorn and should them where the games were! Doug is phenomenal craft beer engineer! The flavors he created were strikingly different yet so delicious to drink! He offered us a sample of a white stout he's about to debut.... omg! Mind blown! We're bummed we won't be there to bring any back home to Florida! The place isn't fancy, but it's comfy and cozy. We literally just sat down on comfy couches and enjoyed our beers! The walls are decorated with Mike's awards and it's amazing to see the sacrifices and service he has done for our country.
