If I had a Time Machine I'd go back 3 hours and have eaten anywhere else. This was my first meal of the day so the bar was set very low already, and all I can say is I should've eaten the food I had at home. The chicken wings (bone in) were edible, but the bacon cheeseburger and the chicken strips were awful. We were a party of 8 with 3 kids (7, 4 and 3) and 5 adults. We arrived and were seated around 135. There was a small lunch rush while we were getting settled in. We ordered apps (wontons, cheese curds and buffalo dip). They were all very ok but it took so long for them to arrive the kids were starting to get antsy. It was a long morning/afternoon as we went to a local kite festival and were looking for sustenance quick. I called to our waitress as she as rushing by our table before the apps arrived, anticipating that it would be a while because they still hadn't come yet, And she brushed me off and kept doing what she was doing, saying to me slightly irritated, "I put your apps in. I have a process I'll come back." The apps finally came out and 10 min after that she came back to take our mains. The kids were starting to lose their minds getting up walking around, my four-year-old kept saying rather loudly. "Where is my hamburger I'm hungry. Where is my hamburger?" By this time, every table around us had been served. We were starting to get upset. 90 minutes after we were seated, we finally got our main courses, but they came out in spurts. I think the final dish came out about 10 minutes after the trickle began. My mom didn't like her boneless wings and didn't want to eat them, the kids nuggets were OK. The cheeseburgers had good reviews from the seven-year-old and my four-year-old. The kids menu is decent and came with several good sides like fruit, and a cup, a cookie, fries, And soda, although if you wanted something other than soda that was an enough charge. There did seem to be an up charge for almost everything. I had the stirfry and it was very mediocre. They comped us the boneless wings because my mom didn't want to eat them, and our waitress seemed exasperated about that. The bill was $200. All in all, it was not a great experience and we won't be back. The service was slow, rude/inconsiderate at times, the food mediocre and the atmosphere loud... they had those toy vending machines which make bored hungry kids get whinier. Stopped here on the way home from Willmar on a whim seeing that they have Ribeye on their menu. We were a little disappointed when we found out they didn't have any but they had other great options to choose from. They had a burger on their special menu that sounded really good . The burger was half pork and half beef with Ham, Cheese, Bacon, Onion straws with BBQ sauce on a Pretzel bun. So glad I decided to get it. One of the best burgers I have ever had. We love Chatters, it is one of our go-to places. The food is really good, and always HOT but we just know we will have to wait awhile. Not to get in, we've always gotten in right away, but for food we've almost always had to wait for that. I am not complaining, it is nice not to feel rushed. Staff is super friendly and like most places, they are very short staffed (thus the wait) Last time we were there a guy from a very large table (probably a minimum of at least 12 people) was complaining to their server, going on about the length of time between their drinks (wearing a political tshirt) the server handled herself so well!! This is my all-time favorite restaurant, hands down. This place is so good that I don't even like to go out to eat anywhere else. The cheese curds are to die for and I love their steak skewers with the sriracha aioli. Everything is fresh and homemade. I've never tried anything on their menu that I haven't liked and I bring everyone I know to try this place and have never heard a complaint. On top of their delicious food, the staff are all awesome and always friendly, even when they're extremely busy. My only complaint is that they are no longer open late; they used to be open normal bar hours on the weekends with a DJ. Nowhere else in town has a DJ or crowd like chatters did. It was extremely depressing that this went away after Covid. Aside from that, everything about this place is solid and worth every penny. I'd eat here literally every single day if I could, especially those cheese curds. I've never had cheese curds that have compared to chatters. Highly recommend this place. read more

It's a tad pricey for the quality, which surprises me a bit since I live in Maple Grove and am quite used to overpricing. My wife and I had lunch with a couple friends last week and I wasn't pleased with a $58 (includes customary tip) tab for a quesadilla, french dip sandwich, 2 Miller Lite taps, and 2 craft taps. $7 for pint tap craft beers is overkill in my opinion. Also, charging a buck apiece for tiny ramekins of guac and "horseradish mayo" (which tasted like ranch and pepper) is horse apples. It's just like a Wild Bill's or Cowboy's, but somehow manages to be more expensive despite being located in exurban Monticello. This wasn't my first experience at Chatters, but might be my last. The food is pretty bland and uninspiring which, when combined with being overpriced, gives me due cause to take my appetite elsewhere. The service saves them from a 2-star review. I would allocate my rating as 2-star food with 4-star service. read more

Just gross! We had dinner here one night and we sat at the bar, the bartender wasn't very personable. When we asked about the cups on the liquor bottles she told us they have issues with fruit flies, the seasoning they use to rim you glass for Bloody Mary's or margaritas was so nasty looking like the don't ever clean them. The olives and pickles they use for drinks where just sitting out in the open and I actually watched a server put her hand in it to get an olive out and drop it into a drink. The food was just okay. Immediate smell of bar rot. Never have carpet n a high volume bar! Food is pretty good but just as I was warned, the service is ANYTHING but fast and friendly. And I never post a bad review on one experience. Tried this place four times. Yesterday I was there right when it opened and it was like the entire staff just showed up and did zero prep. Service took way way way too long for only a handful of customers. When I finally got someone to cash me out, the bartender had to get cash drawers from the office. That was 50 minutes after opening. We all waited on checks. It's not really the servers fault. The management should step up and learn what is being said in the community and make some changes. Just go ask patrons at other bars what they think of chatters. It's never positive. But they are pretty much the only game in town that stays open until 2am. read more

My husband and I ordered the chicken quesadilla appetizer, Thai chicken flatbread pizza, and chicken bacon ranch wrap. The quesadilla was served nice and hot from the grill with lots of fresh lettuce, pica de gallo, sour cream, salsa, and black olives. Not a single complaint about it. I've had soggy room-temperature quesadillas from other restaurants, but this one was perfect and crispy. My Thai pizza was AMAZING. Carrots, red bell peppers, cilantro, cabbage, green onions, shredded chicken, mozzarella cheese, and sriracha sauce. The pizza dough is made in-house, and it was as good as the ones at Punch Pizza (Neapolitan style). It has that perfect balance of chewiness, light texture, and crispy at the edges. Again, I've had flatbread pizzas at other places which are soggy in the middle -- but not so with Chatters. Whoever is manning the oven is doing a great job. My husband said his wrap was very generous with the chicken and bacon. We have eaten at Chatters a handful of times before, and it has been average (which is not a bad thing), but this visit was exceptionally great! read more
