The cafe has a romantic atmosphere with local art and enough seating. When you walk in you're transformed into another place with the French music. Unfortunately I am rating this one stars for a reason. For price point, please review my menu pictures the cafe environment has changed since the last set of reviews. When you order the menu is very detailed but no photo to show size (but that's why we have yelp). When ordered the strawberry cheese cake crepe. I watched the order made. The crepe was undercooked and thick. The undercook was attributed with the thick layer of batter placed down. The cheese cake filling was a cheese cake and sour creme with vanilla and lots of sugar. The plate itself was cheese cake, but in a crepe, I think the cream cheese could have been batched fresh with yogurt for a lighter filling than this premade stuff or fold in some whip cream to lighten it up. And even a fold of strawberry syrup would have made the crepe taste like a strawberry cheese cake crepe. It had fresh strawberries but will honestly give a sour taste. The dessert was glazed with caramel. The washrooms are located in the back but wasn't stocked with hand soap. It's a nice date location but crepes could use enhancement. I dont think I would return for the crepe, maybe will try a coffee drink next time. read more

Yeah. I mean it. This was nearby to a project I was working on, so I took my crew in for lunch. I like crepes. I mean, crepes can be a nice amusing food, but rarely a solid meal. Kind of like a serious desert, but not a "real meal". First, the menu killed me--a list of savoury crepes and I wanted one of each! I ultimately settled on the Bulgarian village sausage with sautéed peppers, tomatoes, mushrooms and onions. It arrive at the table like a stuffed burrito, pretty hefty for around 8 bucks! And tasty? I hoovered the thing down, amazed that all of the flavors blended so well. It was so good I had to have another, but I flipped to the sweet page and went through another fit of angst trying to decide. This was desert in my mind, so I went with the Reese's Lovers crepe, filled with nutella and peanut butter. That one crepe did in my entire allowance of calories for the day, but it was worth it. And only 6 bucks! Really, I could have had another and still stay under a $20 lunch limit for the day. But noooo, I had to stop. Dumb move. And they have breakfast crepes! Imagine the same Bulgarian sausage with 2 scrambled eggs and melted cheese in a crepe for $7.50. That's less than most sausage, egg and hash brown breakfasts at a standard diner. But, crank it up by adding mushrooms, hummus, bacon, artichoke, avocado, smoked salmon, capers spinach or caramelized onions for an additional $1- $2 each, and you can have a breakfast feast. Right! Good plan! I'm there tomorrow morning!!!! I'm not sure which desert crepe to have with it, but I can ask... UPDATE: I came back for breakfast. Ordered the sausage and scrambled eggs with cheese and I added mushrooms. Awesome!!!! Can I give this place 6 stars??? read more

Good crepes very yummy (although not freshly made) but the service is so slow. The place was near empty. One couple and us. Took him over 10 minutes to come take our order. Then the crepes were out pretty quickly but we finished them well before we got out drinks. Simply ordered a coke and a latte, shouldn't take more than 20 minutes. After we finished our food we went to tell him to cancel the drinks and he apologized he forgot and gave us the bill for free - so hopefully this was a one time slip, we will be back for sure and give them another chance. read more

These crepes are absolutely fantastic! They are fresh, full of flavour, and the perfect amount of food. Every time we visit this establishment, I am impressed. The atmosphere is modern and sleek boasting clean lines, and interesting accents. The food prep area is visible to the patrons so guests are able to see the crepe process (and the wonderfully clean workspace). Refillable glass bottles of water are presented to each table, and the staff are quick to refill as necessary. The staff are excellent and quick to respond, take orders, and offer suggestions if requested - the menu is vast so I highly recommend the scramble crepe with sausage and add the extra tomato and spinach (very popular and for good reason). Just writing this review makes me want to visit again! read more

I have been to Chavo Crepes 2 times already. The staff is very friendly making sure to serve me the best they can. While there I have had both the turkey and cheese and the Bulgarian sausage. They were both nothing short of amazing. I especially love the fact that they make everything there and all of their ingredients are fresh. No complaints at all about this place. The first thing you notice is the funky modern decor. The next thing you notice is how full the place is! We were there on a Sunday afternoon and all the tables were full so we were seated at the bar tables facing the street. The ambiance was cool and quiet with music playing softly and light chatter. We were helped very quickly and ordered iced chai tea lattes. Which were amazing!! The menu has a wide variety of sweet and savoury crepes, all with traditional or buckwheat crepes. We ordered the avocado and turkey bacon crepe, and the vegetarian with feta. Both were served quickly and delicious! My only tip would be that the cutlery should include a sharper knife than the butter knife which didn't work to cut the crepe very well. Otherwise, definitely recommend and I will definitely return to try others. read more

Ok, so I didn't know what to expect. From the outside it doesn't look like much, but once inside, this restaurant is charming and has a great atmosphere. The food and service was amazing. I had the Bulgarian sausage, 2 egg breakfast crepe. Their Honey-Dijon-Chia dressing is so good. My husband had the Hazel Berryana sweet crepe, which was equally as delicious. Seriously, we will be back, again and again. The breakfast crepes and sweet crepes are delicious and so filling. Looking forward to trying some of their savoury crepes, soups and salads!! read more

Tried this places for he first time. It was empty on a Thursday evening which seemed a bit odd. The service was great. No room for improvement there. The menu has lots of crepe options. The prices were very reasonable. The place was well designed with a modern style. Importantly, The food was very good. I did leave the place still somewhat hungry. I've passed this place a thousand times. I stopped in for breakfast on the last day of 2016. What a great way to start the last day of an otherwise crummy year. The menu was interesting, the service was terrific (appreciative but not fake) the ambience was just as it should be (if that makes any sense) and the crepes were delicious. I've often had crepes like big fat pancakes full of gloop. Chavo on the other hand delivered a harmonious balance of flavour, texture and design on my plate. AND it was not at all overpriced. Absolutely best crepe location in the region! The owner really puts time and effort for every table. If they offer their daily soup, it's an absolute must have. I absolutely HATE creme soups and am not a fan of pumpkin but their pumpkin creme soup is to die for. The Turkey bacon avocado crepe and the cheesecake crepe are must haves as well. What I really like about this place is the attention to detail. For instance, if you're eating a savoury crepe and then choose to have a dessert crepe, the waiter will exchange your cutlery with clean ones so that you don't get any leftover flavour from your previous crepe.
