The ambiance is lovely, the crowd was great, and the place had a really cool vibe. I visited after hearing so much hype online, and it absolutely lived up to it. I tried two burgers and both were delicious with perfectly cooked smash patties. The standout for me was the "That Shit Slambing" -- a smashed lamb burger loaded with lettuce, tomato, caramelized onions, jalapeños, and Che Sauce on a soft brioche bun. Packed with flavor and cooked perfectly. I also tried the "Patti Labelle," a patty melt made with a Superior Angus beef patty topped with pastrami, Swiss, cheddar, mustard, and chipotle aioli on their Big Beautiful Bread, served with fries. The bread was incredibly fresh and honestly one of the best parts of the meal. The only thing I'd change is the fries -- they could have been a bit crispier. Overall really solid place. Very clean setup and loved the atmosphere and vibes here. Felt like a spot that takes pride in what it is doing. I ordered the "That S**** Slambin" burger and it was good. Had a unique herb sauce flavor that I actually enjoyed and made it stand out a little from a normal burger. Fries were delicious. That being said, after looking at other reviews and pictures, I honestly think I should have tried the Patti Labelle or one of the bigger burgers. Went here for lunch on a week day. Only a handful of people were here, but only two spots left for parking. They're moving locations soon so I don't think the location information will be pertinent for the next month. Menus were at the register where you order your food. The server was very nice and helpful. The menu didn't say anything about fries but it appears that all orders come with fries but not a drink. The Patti LaBelle was really good even though I don't usually like mayo based sauces. I did order it without mustard. The ODB was okay, but the burger flavor just wasn't great. We came on a Saturday right when they opened at 12pm and their parking lot was already packed! They have extra parking to the left in front of the black painted building next door and at the church across the street. DO NOT park to the right of their building (when entering the restaurant) as the owners were warning everyone who came in that they will tow you. The owners and employees are all very nice! They greeted us instantly when we entered and told us where the menus were and where the drinks were. When we ordered, they brought our ketchup and plenty of napkins for us and even quickly identified when we were ready for a to go box. The inside of the restaurant is spacious. It was a nice day when we came, so they opened up the garage style windows to let in some air. My husband got the Patti LaBelle. He wanted to make sure that I included how good the bread on it is because it was super fluffy and they toasted both sides of the bread to make sure they didn't get soggy. I got the ODB, and it is definitely the best burger I've had. The smoked Gouda and the Aji verde sauce on it was soooooo good. The fries were also amazing. They were seasoned perfectly, and they came out so crispy and fluffy inside. We also got the last slice of chocolate cake, and the frosting on the cake is to dieeeee for. I was curious about this place when I was in the area before, so this time I stopped in for lunch. They clearly have a good lunch crowd, so there was a slight wait to be able to order. Even though there was a sign out that mentioned a QR code menu, it was unclear where to find the menu. I asked the people in front of me in line and they directed me to pull up the website on my phone. However, once those folks got to the counter, I could see that there were hardcopy menus sitting there. Me reaching for one triggered other people further back in line to come up and grab one too. I went with the arrogant, which is one of the salmon sandwiches that has beef bacon on it. I was interested in the turkey club, but was told they were out of avocado which to me is a key ingredient for me, so I did not order that. I learned that all of the sandwiches come with French fries, and that the lamb burgers what they recommend for first timers. My food was made really well made and all the ingredients were fresh. That said, I wanted some type of sauce on my salmon to give it a little extra flavor. The aji verde in the bun was not enough for me. The menu didn't have desserts, so I did not realize they were desserts until after I paid and walked away from the counter. I ended up adding two slices of cake just based on the visual of the chocolate cake slices that were sitting on the counter, and the worker letting me know the other flavors that were not out yet. I was actually shocked to see the prices of these cakes once they rung up. One slice was $9 and the other slice was $8.50. For that price, I expected these cakes to be amazing. They were not. I bought the carrot cake for my husband so I did not taste it. However, the chocolate cake was dry. So dry that I tried to feed the rest of it to my six and four year-old children, and even they wouldn't eat it. I ordered the foods to go thinking that it would be a quicker experience. The entire thing took about 40 minutes from walking into the restaurant to entering my car...and I spent ~$43 on food no one truly loved. The restaurant itself is clean on the inside. There is a small seating area, maybe with about 10 tables that was pretty full at lunchtime. There are two gender-neutral bathrooms, but one is staff only. In the waiting area in my photos, there are refrigerators with drinks you can buy to add to your tab. This is another thing that would be unclear for first timers as there is no signage and no mention of the drinks on the menu. read more

Although they're looking to move, they are still currently on LaVista rd very close to its intersection with Briarcliff Rd. The restaurant is very cute. Loved the decor. Loved the vibe. I came here two days in a row to try the ODB and the Arrogant. Parking lot is small and inside only have enough seats for about 30 customers. Owners are a husband and wife duo. The husband does the cooking and the wife runs the register. This place does not accept cash; they only use cards. The ODB is a great burger. There are two beef patties with cheese and a chimichurri sauce. The burger is amazing and I believe it comes with beef bacon. Fries were decent but I wish they came with more ketchup or some type of seasoning. The Arrogant is a better looking sandwich but not as tasty. As a ATL foodie, I have had a solid experiences at Che Butter Jonez. The customer service was quick and attentive, and I appreciated seeing a 100 A health score posted. I ordered the double burger with beef bacon, which is not easy to find in Atlanta. The burger was well seasoned and filling. I ended up cutting it in half and taking the rest home with some fries. This spot is a welcome addition to our neighborhood. My first experience of their food was when my husband brought me home an egg, cheese and bacon breakfast sandwich which was seriously next level. Most recently we stopped by for lunch on a Friday and it managed to get busy FAST. Parking can be a bit of a challenge in the front but there is side parking as well as parking to the left where there is a vacant lot. My husband has become a big fan of their burger, so he ordered this again and I ordered the Patty Labelle (their take on a patty melt) which came with a side of fries. Drinks are offered in refrigerators in the back ranging from sparkling water to the usual soda brands. They do also offer offer beer and wine. There is seating inside and some outside seating as well, along with barstools against the windows. The most impressive thing was seeing the employee behind the counter taking orders, waiting/cleaning tables and even helping to direct folks in parking. She truly was a one woman show. Cashier taking our order was extremely nice and helpful, told us the salmon hasn't been delivered yet, so that affected one of our orders. Ordered 2 ODBs, the Patti LaBelle, lamb burger, and the salmon burger. The meats on the burgers were really juicy and tasty, and the salmon burger was a little on the dry side for me. Fries came with all the burgers, but could use a little more given the price tag. We liked everything about this place...except the parking. If you're in the mood for a burger that actually lives up to the hype, this is the spot. I went for the ODB with beef bacon, crispy onions and chimichurri sauce, and wow, flavor explosion. The beef was juicy, the bacon added this smoky richness, and that chimichurri? Bright, herby, and completely addictive. The fries didn't play second fiddle either, I would've liked a few more but they were perfectly crispy, and seasoned just right. Inside, it's small and cozy, but packed with personality. They had smooth hip hop and r&b music playing that really set the vibe. Being from the northeast, I appreciated the Jets helmet. Right vibe... completely wrong customer experience. After an hour in Atlanta traffic, we arrived excited for a post birthday lunch and our burger cravings on high. The atmosphere was okay, the music hit all the right r & b notes and the cashier was a bright spot-engaging, friendly, even joking with the birthday girl about the cluster of March birthdays. Then the experience went left. The menu is extremely rigid. Not "chef‑driven, no substitutions" more like "military mess hall, take it or leave it" rigid. Note: Nothing on the menu or signage indicated that modifications to the toppings weren't allowed. We were perfectly ok with ordering what we wanted on the side. I asked for pickles on my burger. Initial answer: No. I joked, "How do you have a burger with no pickles?" We all laughed-including the cashier. No tension, no attitude. My friend ordered a burger that did include pickles. Naturally, I asked why I couldn't add them to mine. The explanation: some burgers "qualify" for pickles and others don't. Another friend wanted a lamb burger without jalapeños. She was told the onions and jalapeños were mixed together, so she'd have to pick them out. She asked for crispy onions instead, again, No. Could she order crispy onions on the side? Still no. At this point, we were confused but still trying to order. No raised voices, no attitude- just a light conversational tone. Where It Went Completely Off The Rails: The owner was sitting maybe a foot away, overheard and stepped in, not to help or to offer assistance, but to pretty much shut the conversation down. He insisted the menu was designed for "what customers want," when we pointed out that we are customers, he then clarified that it was designed for how he wants customers to eat the food. I said interesting customer approach and that's fine but it maybe a good idea to indicate that on the website/menu, or somewhere because that could change the decision on whether to eat there- again in what I thought was still a light tone. He then goes on to give an example about Wendy's square burger- saying they do not allow you to change it. I then pointed out that we were talking about toppings, not the burger itself and that was not a good analogy. He pretty much escalated after that and he told us we could leave. As we were leaving, out of nowhere, he made it a racial conversation, despite everyone involved being people of color. He literally played the race card over an interaction about burger toppings. He stated: We as black people have to stop this. As to insinuate that no other race of people would ask for substitutions/modifications. We all turned around and asked- what are you talking about?? He mumbled some other stuff as we continued out the door. News flash: Asking for pickles and crispy onions is not a cultural issue. It's a customer‑experience issue. We left without ever tasting the food. Final word: The tone of any business is set at the top, and in this case, the tone was rigid, dismissive, and fundamentally out of alignment with what a customer‑centric experience demands. Leadership didn't just miss the mark-it set a standard that made the entire experience collapse before it even began. With decades in the customer‑service arena, I've watched how quickly an experience can elevate when leadership leads with clarity, empathy, and intention-and how just as quickly it can unravel when ego replaces service. What happened here wasn't about pickles, crispy onions, or substitutions. It was about a mindset: a belief that the customer's voice is optional. This is exactly why I'm on a mission to restore customer‑focused service. This is not to be confused with a belief that a customer is always right nor is it a mission to dilute a chef's creativity or silence a business owner's vision. It is to reestablish a truth too many leaders forget: The customer is the experience. Their presence is the platform. Their engagement is the ecosystem. Their satisfaction is the sustainability. I was in the area and looking for a place to grab a bite to eat. While scrolling on Yelp this spot popped up. I recall seeing this restaurant featured on a YouTube series called DIRT. One line I recall from the episode is they described their style of food as refined ratchet! Based solely off of seeing the YouTube video I decided to give this spot a try. It appears they recently relocated to the new location. It was easy to find using GPS. The parking lot is small, but lucky for me, it was not too crowded when I arrived. I was immediately greeted when I walked inside. Service is something I value when I spend my hard earned coins. As such, the level received from this restaurant did not go unnoticed. When I approached the counter to order I was instructed to scan the barcode to view the menu. I really wanted to try the lamb burger as it is what they are known for.. the issue is I don't really eat red meat, but love the taste of lamb. Since I did not want to have an upset stomach, I opted for the salmon burger which includes Salmon, lettuce and tomato and an herb sauce on a bun. All sandwiches are served with fries. I did not place an order for a drink, but was offered a cup of water, which I appreciated. I sat at one of the many tables in the restaurant and waited maybe 10 minutes for my food to arrive. First thing I noticed is that the salmon was NOT over cooked. One thing I can not stand is over cooked salmon! So many people get it all wrong, but not at Che Butter. When I took my first bite- I was sold. The bread was fresh, as were the vegetables on the sandwich . Additionally, I loved the flavorful yet simple herb sauce that was included on the sandwich. I also enjoyed the fries. I appreciate that they were not salty. It is probably a good thing that this spot is not closer to my house because they would get all of my money.
