Every time I visit Atlanta, I look forward to visiting Hattie B's and this specific location. The staff is always courteous and the food is always good. I really enjoyed my chicken sandwich and it was definitely fresh since it was made to order. The pimento mac and cheese is also delicious. I had the Quarter Dark with Southern flavor, one Wing with Mild flavor and Pimento Mac & Cheese. The chicken was pretty good. It wasn't dry and the skin had a nice crisp. The Mac & Cheese was good, but I was expecting more umph to the cheese flavor (since I love pimento cheese). I also ordered the Peach Cobbler for dessert. I actually did not care for it. My son ordered the medium grilled chicken with collard greens, daughter ordered the hot quarter bird with waffles as her side, and I chose the hot quarter bird with grits. I've been to this location just a few times. I have visited the OG in Nashville several times though and I am glad we have one here (a few now) in ATL. This used to be an old gas station now serving hot chicken. Let's go!! Depending on the time you go you can find a line winding out - not ideal but worth the food. The last time I was here we ordered the hot-chicken sandwich (medium heat, just spicy enough) and a half-chicken plate with dark meat. The sandwich nailed it: the chicken stayed juicy inside, the crust had that punch of Nashville-style spice, and the coleslaw + sauce + pickle + soft bun combo balanced out the heat beautifully. The half-chicken plate came with some nice sides: we got the pimento mac & cheese (comfort food at its best) and collard greens, which gave the meal a good Southern soul. Service is as expected. Finally got to try this place after hearing about the long lines and hype of Hattie B's! Lines weren't as bad as when they first opened. The patio was nice and I appreciated the heaters. They really know how to make a good chicken sandwich with lots of chicken breast meat. Coleslaw was ok- really mayonnaise-y, which works well on the sandwich. Next time I'll stick with french fries as a side since the coleslaw is already on the sandwich. A couple of minutes after we got our sandwiches, they handed us our ice cream that we ordered. For sides, I did try the Mac & cheese & greens. They were ok. But I always get the crinkle fries! Also I love the pickles that come with it. For sauces, I get Blue Cheese & Nashville Comeback Sauce! However, this time and the time I went before, I ordered mild spice, and it was just too spicy for the lowest level of spice you can get. I like heat, but when you are expecting to not have that much spice, it is just too much. Maybe it was because it was a Friday and they were busy but it wasn't what I was expecting. The parking is not ideal because there are so few spots and the restaurant is located on the side of a highway, so it can get loud if you are sitting outside. I ordered The Sandwich (Fried Chicken) with a side of Crinkle Cut Fries. I ordered the chicken with a "medium" heat level, but it was not hot at all. The Crinkle Cut Fries tasted average and could have used a sprinkle of salt. I actually did not get my order for a while even though it was not busy at the time, but luckily, one of the staff members was able get my order after I notified them about it.
