I ordered the wrong magazine, totally my fault. After opening the bag and trying the mag i realized it was wrong. I got online and chatted with Betty. I explained the issue. She asked if the product was new and unopened. I told her no i was opened. After a few minute wait, she came back and said she would refund my money. I asked the process of returning the product. In September of 2024 I purchased 250 rounds of American Quality 5.56 62 gr. ammo from Cheaper Than Dirt. Out of 250 rounds, I have fired, or tried to fire 88. Of the 88 only about 45 functioned properly, the remaining were either duds, or had jammed in both my AR rifles. This is a failure rate of more than 50%. Cheaper Than Dirt has changed ownership in the time since I placed this order and the new owners aren't taking ownership of this issue. So, I write to you in the hopes that you can rectify this issue for me. Upon investigation I see that this brand has had these issues since 2017 and it begs the question did Cheaper Than Dirt know about this? Does Cheaper Than Dirt knowingly sell faulty items? Especially ammunition, which is the most safety sensitive item in the shooting sports world. I hope not. In the past I have made purchases from Cheaper Than Dirt, but I understand that you are now under new ownership and as new owners I am sure you wish to keep the good will and name of Cheaper Than Dirt. Attempted to cancel an order the morning after placing it the night before at 7:44pm. I emailed customer service at 9:51am, EST time which makes it 8:51am in Texas. A rep named Rachel, told me the warehouse is automated and the order cannot be stopped/aborted. I called customer service and spoke with Robert who was even worse, and said I could not even refuse shipping or I simply forfeit the order, no refunds. You could tell they were blowing smoke, the warehouse does not "operate 24/7, and the shipping notice did not come until 5:40pm! A whole 8hrs after they said it was already fulfilled. Cheap products and terrible customer service. They do not issue refunds, only store credit after you pay fir shipping both ways and a 25% restocking fee. DO NOT BUY HERE! Extremely expensive ammo. But that's not the problem. They charge $19.99 extra for any "bulk" items. Since you pay handsomely for shipping it's unclear what this charge is for. I have made many purchases with CTD in the past. However, their policies have changed when it comes to online ammunition purchases. They 'claim' that they will ship to any state that does not have compliance laws when it comes to online ammo orders. I live in a state that has NO compliance laws, whatsoever. CTD refused to ship my most recent order, which I have done many times in the past, without giving them a Government issued Photo ID ! I emailed customer service, and they replied that they need Proof of age... But they would not ship without all of my personal information, including my Drivers license number, address, phone number, etc... for compliance ! I sent them a photo copy of my state issued drivers license, but redacted (blacked out) everything except my name, photo and DOB. This was not good enough! I told them this was not necessary, as I have a long history of purchases with them. I demanded they cancel my order and refund my money. They canceled my order, but I still have not received my refund. $400 down the drain! They have gone completely LIBERAL ! Do not buy anything from CTD ! read more

It cannot have been shipped. UPS website verified that the label had been made, but nothing had been picked up. The item has not been shipped. I had never ordered ammunition from "Cheaper than Dirt" in the past, but on 10 June 2021 I ordered 4 boxes of TulAmmo 7.62x39mm Ammunition 40 Rounds Steel FMJ 122 Grains UL076240. It came to me yesterday (15 June 2021) in a small cardboard box. The cardboard box was not damaged in any way, but when I opened it, every ammunition box was ripped, and more than one box had ammunition loose and spilled into the cardboard shipping box. Obviously, someone placed it for shipping in this known and obvious condition. I had to painstakingly reinforce and secure the boxes with heavy duty tape, and put the individual rounds of ammunition back into the plastic retainers. It took a while. It was if you went to McDonalds, ordered a Big Mac, and when you got home, the sandwich wasn't assembled, and you had to fish out the lettuce and ground beef patty to assemble your own sandwich. Totally unprofessional. "Dirt" is a good word for the service I received from "Cheaper Than Dirt". I will never do business with them again, and you shouldn't either!! This is a horrible company to buy from. Ordered from them. The product arrived broken they said it was a warranty issue. Apparently I had to explain to them that "warranty" means when I use it and it breaks it's a warranty issue. You don't ship broken stuff to somebody as new and then tell them it's a warranty issue and to call the manufacturer. Would not recommend them to anyone. read more

I order a Army surplus rifleman package with 3 day pack. The advertisement states "like new" condition, when received, they were anything but that. The 3 day pack had a broken side buckle, the mag pouches were worn and dirty. It's one thing if you advertise this as "heavily used" but don't deceive people by as saying "like new" when it's not. Location is not there. I needed to make an exchange on an order I purchased about a month ago. Their website states Location is valid. After driving over there on a weekday; in rush hour traffic to and from, a 2.5 hour trip! [Website states closed on weekends.... what?!?] The place doesn't exist!!!! Not a happy customer. A simple exchange is all I needed. I'm hoping to get a refund, now that I have to mail it back to them. What a serious pain to deal with. I've done lots of business with CTD over the years and have been satisfied with their products and service. Unfortunately, during this recent pandemic, they have resorted to outrageous price gouging for common ammunition. For example, they currently want a whopping $99.89 for ONE box of Blazer brass .380 ammo! Outrageous and unethical! I work at a Rural King store in the gun barn. We were selling Amscor brass .380 for $14.99 a box. That's less than 1/6th CTD's price. I know the brands are different, but six times the price? Another example, their cheapest 9mm Luger is currently $59.89 for a box of 50. At RuralKing we've recently (past two weeks) sold Blazer brass 9mm for $10.49 a box and Amscor for $13.99. Make your own judgement on that. CTD should just limit quantities and sell at ammo at fair price instead of taking advantage of returning customers.
