We stopped in for dinner around 8 PM and had a short 10-minute wait. Our waitress was friendly and made us feel welcome right away. We really enjoyed the complimentary buttered croissants--warm, soft, and full of flavor. For our meals, we ordered the chicken fried chicken and the meatloaf. Both dishes came out quickly and were hot and delicious. We finished off with a slice of carrot cake for dessert, and it did not disappoint--moist, flavorful. Overall, a great dining experience with good service and tasty food.

A million times I recommend this place. My favorite place for dinner and a drink on Fridays. My favorite is lemon pepper chicken plate with a Painkiller drink. So yummy

After a long day of travel, I wanted a place that would fill me all the way up! Cheddar's was recommended to me so I decided to go. Cheddar's was clean, inviting, and large. When I walked in, i was greeted and sat immediately. Our waiter came and let us know that we had a waitress in training. They both took such great care of us and made our experience one to remember. I got the steak and shrimp with mashed potatoes and broccoli. It was absolutely delicious. The shrimp comes with a special sauce. I don't remember what it was called, but I know it was good. I like to be able to put the amount of sauce I want on food, so I requested it on the side. This will not be my last time visiting Cheddar's!!

Well, my family and I eat at a Texas Roadhouse close to where we live in the DFW area, and we like the food, atmosphere, and service. I like visiting locations that are consistent, and for the most part, almost all Texas Roadhouse locations from TX, PA, KY, OH, and MI are the same. Same quality, service, food, atmosphere, and experience. I am a creature of habit. I order the same meal at every Texas Roadhouse location. I used to get the 11 oz sirloin, but switched to 8 oz, so I can order another beer and not feel guilty...lol. 8oz sirloin, medium rare, with mushrooms, and cheese, and two cups of chili, with cheese, no onion, and a side of jalapenos. When I travel for business, I sit at the bar, get to watch a game, and order a nice ice cold Miler Lite (This night, no Miller Lite, so hello Bud light). The steak was cooked perfectly, and tender. The chili was delicious, and the bartenders were fantastic. I quit eating the rolls, not because they are bad, it's because they are delicious, and when you put the greatest butter ever invented on them, I could and would eat way to many. So, if you're in the mood for a great dining experience, great service, and some free peanuts, head to Texas Roadhouse. Stay hungry my friends...

After checking in, we were told it would actually be 45 minutes to an hour. We understood that it was a busy Friday, so we waited patiently. While waiting, the hosts were eating and drinking while slouched over the check-in area, which came across as very unprofessional and did not give a good first impression. When we were finally called, we were asked if it was okay to add a seat to the edge of a table because there were five of us. That didn't make much sense, especially when we noticed another group of four being seated at a table that could accommodate six. I spoke up, and thankfully another waitress offered to move us to a larger table, which we accepted. I completely understand that Fridays can be extremely busy, but the hostess team could have handled the situation much better. Better communication, professionalism, and attention to seating arrangements would have made a big difference in our experience.

Eating (a lot) in Harlingen - 1 of 2…read more Upon arrival to the Rio Grande Valley (RGV) and before proceeding to the island (SPI), I was in Harlingen, Texas for about a day and a half. I still shake my head as to why they even call it a valley since I don't see any "sides" to this valley unless they are way upstream. I was not planning to eat here - at the Golden Corral. In fact, because I knew I might eat too much, I had to pause and reflect on this. However, as I got closer to the building and parking lot, it seemed to be newer and really well maintained. The same was true once inside. I guess my eyes that are bigger than my stomach won. I had dinner here and, even though it was good - see the 4 stars? - I didn't want to return ... for obvious reasons. For me, the infrequent Golden Corral visit usually means 4 plates - a plate for salads, a plate to sample various entrees and sides, a plate for the small steak, and a plate for desserts. I might or might not order a soft drink. I don't even remember the service because, being a buffet, it's mostly up to you. An employee might have checked in on me once and I really don't remember much else. You actually interact more with employees behind the counters at the various stations. Everything inside is kept clean from what I could see. This Golden Corral is popular. With Harlingen not being a city with high disposable income, this buffet offers value and I knew it would busy. Most of the customer base is made up of local Mexican(-American) folks who dine with extended families and friends. I only bring this up because this takes me back to Anjelah Johnson's landmark full 8 minute comedic skit of circa 2008 where she, in addition to stating she had Mexican and native American ancestry, declares that Mexicans are "very family oriented" ... and then keeps going! Consistent with a few other reviewers, I agree that the variety at this Golden Corral is vast and most of the choices are very good. They are consistently good across their nationwide locations. If you are a food snob, do everyone a favor and stay away. If you like value and hearty home-style cooking, be sure to come here.

Always a good experience. Food was fresh and one of the better salad bars in the area. Pan handler…read moreoutside when we came in. Was gone when I left. See our YouTube channel Coolest Life.

I've been eating here since 1970 when menu was written daily on a small blackboard on the wall and plate lunches were $1.25, drink included. I left the area in '84 but have returned frequently ever since. Las Vegas is always my first stop, and last night was no different, meeting up with ten family members for dinner. Our server, Elizabeth, was superb. When I saw the menu, I was concerned. It was six or eight pages, with dishes I never expected to see here. But I understand why, even though my first thought was, "I hope they haven't messed with the traditional dishes." I've always maintained the cheese enchiladas here are among the three or four finest in the world, if not THE finest. That's what I always order. I also ordered panchos and guacamole. My wife ordered beef enchiladas. The guacamole was very good. The nice thing about LVC is they don't use much (if any) cilantro. This stuff ruins guacamole. Their homemade chips are beyond incredible and so is the salsa. The panchos were terrible. Way too much cheese. Ratios are important. The refried beans and rice were very dry. And finally, the cheese enchiladas. They were not good. There was very little gravy (this is what makes them so good) at all, and the gravy wasn't right. They have changed the recipe. There was also way too much cheese on top. Ratios are important. The medium (soft, medium or crispy taco shell) ground beef taco was perfect. My wife said her enchiladas were also disappointingly dry with bland gravy. I ate the taco and about half the rice, beans and enchiladas. I paid what might be my final tab here, and picked up everyone else's check. 56 years ago, I paid less than two bucks out the door. Last night's tab was over $250 with tip. Times have changed. Unfortunately, so has their food. The women's restroom was repulsive. I won't go into detail about the trash can.

I ordered a plate that had a cheese enchilada, rice, beans, guac, a beef fajita taco and I got a carne guisada taco on the side just to try it out. I also got chips & queso because I wanted to try that, too. I think I'm too used to crappy fast food Mexican food like Taco Cabana, because I was expecting everything to be on the smallish side. I was dead wrong. The tacos are large and the carne guisada one was stuffed to overflowing. Two people could easily split the dinner, and the extra stuff was just wasteful on my part. I ate a fraction of what came. As far as the food goes, the rice is seriously good and so are the beans. That's typically where most restaurants just throw some filler on the plate and call it a day. The guacamole was good, too. The homemade chips are also delicious. I did enjoy the queso, but wouldn't put it too far above average restaurant faire. The fajitas were very good as was the carne guisada, although I thought the beef chunks were extremely large. I didn't care for the enchilada sauce, so I ended up not eating those. But, that's just personal preference, so take it with a grain of salt. Overall, I thought it was good food at a good price and I'll probably order it again when I come back through Harlingen.
