This unassuming place is a stand-alone establishment along a somewhat busy Texas thoroughfare. I almost missed it on my approach. Once inside, the service and food were top shelf. I had the cucumber and crab salad to start. It had an amazing citrus dressing and was light and tasty. The Yellowtail Nigiri was simply excellent. I washed this down with a Kirin light. I wanted to like this place I really did. We walked in and there's a certain mild smell in the place. Like when you leave your laundry in the washer a couple of days because you forgot that it was there. We went there for teppanyaki, but that side of the restaurant wasn't open at the time we went (2:30pm). So, I ordered a vegetable and tofu dish from the menu. The taste was ok, but the tofu looked like it might've been fried and then soaked a little too long in the sauce, so the pieces were soggy. They have a full bar. Someone at our table wanted a mixed drink but the server said there was no bartender. She did her best and brought something resembling the beverage ordered. Honestly the server was probably the best part about this visit. The steak dish looked good. 3 in our party and our bill was $58 for three dishes, two teas and one alcoholic drink. read more

Overall: Hostess was awesome and food was great. Tried take out for our anniversary from here as the wife was craving hibachi chicken (teppanyaki here). Called and they took our order straight away very thoroughly and even repeated back. We ordered on a Sunday which I believe is half price sushi day so couldn't get a roll we wanted to-go but she made me aware of that right off the bat, ended up getting egg rolls instead which were delish. Ordered: (1) teppanyaki chicken w/fried rice, added soup and salad (as it doesn't come with to-go orders) - Was great, but wife wasn't a fan of the dressing for the salad, she was expecting the ginger style dressing. Dressing seemed homemade - maybe a take on 1000island. Said everything else was great though. (2) teppanyaki steak - medium well w/ fried rice - Great, steak was maybe closer to 'well' should have ordered medium. Vegetables and rice were excellent. - also the dip that comes with the teppanyaki is freaking amazing. (3) egg rolls - awesome, I bet even better if we had dined in. Disappointed! I placed an order by phone. 5 rolls (as you can see in the receipt). They asked me if I wanted sauces with my rolls, and was informed each sauce is a dollar EXTRA! So you pay $70 in food, and deserve NO condiments with your food! For dine in you are not charged for the condiments. Sundays they have half price on rolls, that is why I usually only order to go, because they are packed! I did not mind paying for extras on Sundays, I was already saving in their special. But weekdays when you paying regular price? A bit ridiculous! To top it off, I am about to sign my receipt and I see a $3.47 gratuity included! TGIS WAS NOT MENTIONED WHILE PLACING MY ORDER. Phone ordered at 8pm. The person who picked up the order said 40min. 8.55pm came to pick up order but the order paper was not transferred to the kitchen yet. Mean? When I came , they were giving my orders to the kitchen to start making my order. It took 35 min to receive my order. Total waiting : 55min + 35 min. Not sure what is going on to you guys . I definitely had some bad fish on one of the rolls: it was supposed to be raw, but looked cooked (see photo) I stupidly put it in my mouth before I looked closer - tasted bad too, I spit it out. The server told me they threw the rest of that fish out. Not to nitpick, but the cuts were significantly uneven and rolls were sloppy. The photos show garnishes in the restaurant, but out rolls came very simply - just the roll. Our server was nice, but literally running all over the restaurant. She was too busy, but made up for it by being nice. The air conditioning was broken, so that sucked. They charged me a dollar for extra ginger, but didn't take anything off the bill for the jank-fish. One star for the place, one for the server- they are lucky to have her. Had to change to one star. They charged me twice for the meal. Once for the bill about and once for $3907 10 minutes afterward. My bank has to cancel the card and send me a new one. read more

We went to Hime on Friday night and it was absolutely amazing. We started with egg rolls which were cooked to perfection and extremely tasty. Our group of 6 all tried something different and everyone loved their meals. When we looked online ahead of time for the menu we could not find the full menu, but once you are there , there is an abundance of choices - something for everyone! So this was recommended by my brother in love and we really enjoyed it... only complaint would be the jerk that was seated with us later. Some negative man that truly liked to talk down to the waitress.... that being said our food was good. We had different appetizers I would recommend a sweeter sauce to compliment the tofu because what's given is blah.... the attack was spot on! My son was blowing through his nose to control the heat, but he loved it! The tuna appetizer was good too. Our waitress was so kind and on top of our desires our chef was just as kind. Not going to lie; I had a lot of reservations about going to Hime. But I finally decided to go after being told that they had all day half price sushi rolls on Sundays, and boy, am I really glad I went! They have a huge menu for a Sushi restaurant, and a lot of different rolls to choose from. The average price of the rolls are $8-$15, but with half price they go down to $4-$7.50, which is such a great deal for sushi (and the rolls are huge). While there, I ordered the Hawaiin roll and red dragon roll. Both were very tasty; the fish wasn't the freshest, but when in roll form, it's still good. The sushi rice is soft; they give plenty of toppings (no skimping on the fish or avocado), and overall its much better quality than HEB sushi. I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed Hime, and now, I'll probably be going every Sunday just to get my sushi fix. After waiting 20-30mins for food to arrive, I notice my food is not what I ordered. The waitress got the order wrong....Once again no offer to make up for it just an apology. I notice we never received our miso soups so I ask and the waitress says, "Oh, Im sorry I forgot", she proceeds to bring cold miso soups to our table and didnt forget to leave her thumb in the bowls as she placed them on the table, YUMMY...at this point im like wow. Again no offer to make up for this terrible service. We get the check and to my surprise the waitress actually had the nerve to try and charge me for the drink she spilled all over my daughter. I play it cool and even give the waitress a tip but at this point, I will NEVER come to this restaurant again. I enjoyed this little sushi house. Chose it because it had a good vegetarian and vegan selection. Ended up being a little farther away from her house than I had thought, but it was worth the drive. The food was fresh and again I had a variety of vegan options. The waitress was even vegan so she told me everything that was good.
