I pay…read morevery high taxes in West Seneca so when my grand daughter was ready for school, my daughter, hubby and I perused options. Private kindergarten starts at 10k. Please let me get a second job to pay for naptime. We finally put my/our taxes to use. Chloe was to attend public school kindergarten. Oh the shame! Clarification - daughter has lived with us since 2011. Two children in tow. Daughter attended parochial. Allendale is our appointed district however it shares a space with West Elementary. Essentially, kinda maybe the same school however I am not that well versed in Public School vernacular. I was not initially pleased. I felt that perhaps Chloe was a bit too smart mouth upon her return home from school. I guess I forgot what annoying little creatures children can be. I pushed to switch to a Charter School. It didn't happen, my review has been posted. Negatively. Bottom line. Chloe reads like a trooper. Understands math better than I - I have the advantage of an abacus!! I went to her Kindergarten graduation yesterday and I was reduced to tears. Simple presentation, hotter than you can imagine, however nicely put together! Best part, I got to visit the actual classroom. There are three for Allendale Kindergarteners and they are all so homey and cool! Not like the icy rows of learning from the ill educated Nuns of my Catholic School days where a switch was quick to get those knuckles! Only, of course, if your teaching Sister was not asleep at the wheel - as often was the case. The room. Wee little tables, arced. Not too many children. Not a super large room. Everyone can get the attention they need, if they need it. Everything was encased inside this little learning paradise. No lockers, cubbies. A cute little transgender bathroom with little fixtures. Books, and many of them. I could not ask for anything more for a learning environment for a child. And did I say HUGE windows with a view to paradise?? Where the deer play! Transoms that open to allow fresh, circulating air?? I think this will work.

They use the 3 semester curriculum. Your children are well cared for. Sometime the technology is lagging. Poor internet connections at times. Teachers are top notch, they are there to work with children and nurture them.

(Part 4 of 1) 10/14/19…read moreI am sure an all girls school has their own crazy antics that some girls did. Nevertheless, the main thing that I would change if I were back in time, is wearing some freaking flip flops instead of walking on the bathroom floor/showers areas.  Once done, students walked or ran back to their dormitories. This could be a long walk during the cold and miserable days. During the hot times, some (including myself) walked back to the dorm in only our towels.  Some students got a huge surprise when their towels got pulled off of them. Under the wrong circumstances some women caught an eye full and laughed; as well, as other male students. Teenagers at there finest... The Resident Assistants who are high school seniors and act like supervisors for the dormitory teachers, guarded the showers and kept everyone else from using the showers.(certainly in my dorm called Templeton) Evidently the all the classmates in the Templeton Dorm did not have the guts to challenge their authority.   We were all freshmen in that dorm and we all were intimidated by the seniors. (This another thing I would change in me if I were to go back in time my 9th grade year...there was no rule where you couldn't shower in the morning, afternoon or night in Templeton...it was just the Resistant Assistants being assholes...with the exception of one or two of them later on.) There were things that some seniors did that intimidated other classmates around the school, but after my first year, I was not intimidated by anyone.  Not even the teacher that threatened to beat me up for saying some sexual remarks to his girlfriend. I did not say those things to her, but if I did, I would have told him right then and there since he was all confrontational with me. (Of course this would have lead to a darker path. One of use would be dead and the other in prison... I am glad had restraint... I don't remember if I reported him to another teacher, but I know nothing happened to him in the years I was there...)  Ahhh the things that happen at school.   Today is 10/10/19 and I am sure everyone uses the showers in their own dormitories ...(I hope so)... since both sexes now live on campus. There are a lot more memories that I am sure will come out when I write about Winter Carnival,  Orientation,  Senior Trips, Crimes&Punishments,  musicals and acting to name several things. I am happy this school is part of my life. I am not sure who I would have been if not for The Gow School.  More to come later on...

10/13/21 Although I have never been to this school, it…read morewas...is our sister school to The Gow School. The Buffalo Seminary School did; however, visit The Gow School on many occasions. Back in 1992-1996 during my time at Gow, many events like school battles in Triva, school plays, musicals, dances and sporting events happened at The Gow School which Buffalo Seminary took part in. Males that knew how to talk to women or got by on their looks might hook up with one of these outstanding ladies at a school dance or at The Galleria Mall. One of the most memorable times with Buffalo Seminary was a battle of wits triva.  One lady was just getting all the answers for her school.  I don't remember the outcome now, but I believe Buffalo Seminary won the game, but not by a lot. I also believe I was hand picked to do one of these types of challenges,  but backed out of fear.  Looking back I regret doing this.  I think of the words Buddy Revell said to Jerry Mitchell.  "You didn't even try...How does that feel?"...yes the quote was edited,  but if you have seen the movie Three O' Clock High, then you already know the whole quote.  Back in the day, I never got the chance to date one of these ladies, but I didn't know how to talk to women until my second dance my 9th grade year.  Confidence is the key word here and sitting on the steps of a dance room and not making a move for 2 hours can be very depressing.   I did not miss an opportunity the second time around.   If I got rejected, I moved onto the next woman at the dance.  Education  at its finest. Most women were happy to be asked to dance.   Buffalo Seminary is still The Gow School's Sister School, but now The Gow School is a co-ed school. One day maybe Buffalo Seminary will follow suit.

A nice holiday bazaar offering something for everyone. There are artists you will recognize from…read moreother markets and fairs around town. They also have a room full of goods made by the students. Some food, other bookmarks, other types of things. Then there is a room full of baskets that you can win in a Chinese auction. The baskets were awesome. Parking for Sem is street, and no handicapped parking area. The facility is not easy if stairs are difficult for you, but it's manageable. This is a nice Holiday Bazaar and well worth a stop if in the area. I took off a star because of the lack of handicapped parking. 2026

This review is all about the musical performance we attended of Guys and Dolls, February 2020 and…read morenot about the school itself. As residents in the school district and having absolutely no other vested interest in the school other than enjoying attending plays and musicals of which we have attended and enjoyed several over the years. We are always impressed with how passionate and talented the students are. This performance of Guys and Dolls did not let us down. It was wonderfully entertaining. We are always very impressed with the singing and acting. The choreography and orchestra are really good. We are also very impressed with the 3D set backdrops. When you first see them, you swear they are curved but after looking closely, you realize they are flat screens that have been painted with almost perfect depth perspective accuracy and by strategically placing on stage props, you get a real 3D feel. I highly recommend attending these plays and musicals. You will really enjoy them.

It's been almost 14 years since I've been in school, and it was the hardest decision whether or not…read moreto go back for my degree. Out of all the colleges I inquired about Bryant and Stratton was on top of everything within seconds of me filling out the online information survey I had gotten a phone call from an admissions rep. I was thrilled at the dedication of the staff. No other College called me back . I came in very nervous knowing I would need to try and figure out how to juggle school and family life with 4 Kids, not to mention a student loan. The admissions staff helped guided me through the decision of going back to school they helped explain financial aid, courses and what I could do if it became to be too much. It is wonderful that the class sizes in the school are very small. This gives you the ability to get more one-on-one attention from your instructor. At the school you are not just a number your student where staff remember is your name. The resources the school has is also wonderful the entire School strives for every person to get the help they need in order to pass each class and get through the semesters. I definitely made the right choice and could not be happier going to school here. I would recommend this school for anyone who wants a smaller classroom size and a better relationship with all staff. I hope to graduate August 2018 wish me luck!
