From start to finish, the whole experience was smooth and stress-free. Chef Albert made the process of choosing the menu super easy and was more than happy to accommodate all our preferences. The meal began with two appetizers--hamachi crudo (melt-in-your-mouth fresh) and bacon-wrapped asparagus (perfect savory flavor). The broccoli cheddar soup was rich and creamy followed by a panzanella salad. The highlight of the evening was the 8oz filet mignon, cooked to absolute perfection--tender and juicy. To end the night, we indulged in a crème brûlée. I had never done anything like this before, and my now-husband and our family have been raving about the food and experience. I was hosting a bachelorette party for a group of 12 girls in Palm Springs. I had paid for my deposit weeks in advance of the event & informed Chef Albert of my 5 course selected meal options. He then responded saying I forgot to pick the appetizer, to which I responded that I will ask the bride & get back to him. He confirmed that he received the deposit and my date was set. Fast forward to the THURSDAY before the dinner (Saturday), I receive an email around 2pm stating that "due to insufficient communication" my event was cancelled and that they needed at least 48 hours notice to prepare everything. Not once before that day did I receive a follow up email, text, or call regarding the appetizer. I responded within the hour saying we could just cancel the appetizer at this point then. Mind you.. I was still within the 48 hour window he mentioned, but was still willing to forgo the appetizer if that was what prevented us from receiving the dinner service. I didn't hear back from him for hours and I also wasn't sent back my deposit until hours later as well. I was informed that a Chef Blake was in charge while Chef Albert was out of the country. I know that my event wasn't cancelled strictly due to not knowing which appetizer I wanted (aka MY insufficient communication), but more so a double booking of some sort and I didn't appreciate the gas lighting of blaming me for the cancellation. We then found a hibachi company that was able to squeeze us in on Saturday. If I were you, skip Chef Albert's catering and find a different company unless you want to be stressed out days before your event. read more

Chef Albert and his team came out to our Palm Springs Airbnb and prepared a wonderful 6 course dinner for 25 of our closest friends and family. Dinner was absolutely amazing, Chef Albert is wonderful, professional, efficient and a joy to be around. He explained all the dishes to our group and spent time socializing with us. The pastry Chef, Chef Jaz prepared two delicious desserts for us, a beautiful crème brûlée as well as this tasty apple tart rose thing. My husband is pretty good about treating himself to "things" all year round, so when his birthday comes around, he usually prefers to have an experience to having another "thing". This year, he requested a dinner party with 6 of our close friends prepared by an in-home personal chef. I put a request out on Yelp and Albert was one of the first to respond. His response was professional and thorough, including 3 sample menus that were a suggestion, but he told me we could really do whatever we wanted. Although many other chefs did respond to my request, I had a very good feeling about Albert and his abilities so we went with him. SO INCREDIBLY GLAD WE DID!! Albert and his assistant, Jasmine, arrived on time and were so prepared and organized - two of my favorite qualities in any professional service. They were both also very warm and friendly. They set the table for us, it looked better than most high-end restaurants when they were done with it. Next, they got to cooking while our guests arrived and we had cocktail hour. When it was time to eat, we started with a passed appetizer of pan seared sea scallops in a peach tarragon puree with forbidden rice. It was a perfect combination of flavors and textures. Next, we sat down at the table to enjoy one of our favorite dishes -lobster bisque with sherry and thyme, accompanied by crostini. I don't really have the proper descriptive words to do it justice, but it was heaven!! Next was a fall harvest salad of mixed greens, candied pecans, butternut squash, feta cheese, honey crisp apples and a poppy seed vinaigrette. Delicious and refreshing. For our entree we enjoyed a Surf & Turf combination of 6oz filet mignon, garlic butter tiger shrimp, red wine reduction (insanely good), garlic butter linguine, jumbo asparagus and carrots. Each filet was cooked exactly to order, and the meat came from Snake River Farms - the best! This all might sound like too much food, but it was perfectly proportioned, perfectly coursed out and was just right. This was great because we all had room for Albert's incredible chocolate mousse cake for dessert. The birthday boy was very happy and well celebrated by this beautiful meal. Typically, when we have a dinner party we spend most of the time working. It was a terrific gift to be able to just relax and visit. Albert and Jasmine took care of it all, they even left the kitchen spotless. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Chef Albert Garcia, and I know we will be using him again in the near future, as will all of our friends who enjoyed this meal. read more

I would hire Chef Albert and Jaz his sous chef again and again! I was hosting a 25th birthday for 12 people in Joshua Tree and Chef Albert communicated with me for weeks prior to make sure my menu was perfect and everything went how I wanted. We did a dinner and brunch the next morning. Definitely the most reasonably priced chef and worth every penny. They brought everything from their own cleaning supplies to their own plates to their own seasoning. And kicked absolutely ass!! It meant so much to me that I didn't have to worry about a single thing. Set up was taken care of, cleaning and tear down, the whole thing. Its unfortunate I did not have a good experience with caterer Albert with Luxury Dining... We were excited to book with Albert for a planned Christmas company event for 100 employees. All correspondence was via email, planning, pricing, coordinating, etc. Everything seemed to be going well until 3 days before the event when Albert sends me the invoice for our event, and it was more than discussed. There was an additional cost for disposable chafers, travel fee, plates, napkins and cutlery. Sure, it is normal to have a travel fee or extra cost for items that the caterer will be supplying, however, these additional costs are typically discussed upfront. I am coordinating an event for a business every cost needs to be accounted for. There were several opportunities for Albert to be open regarding his pricing, but instead when I would ask if napkins, forks and spoons were included, he would reply "Yes, we will include plates, napkins, utensils." Not we would include them "at a price." This type of communication is very misleading and when confronting him instead of dealing with this situation like a professional business owner; Albert cancelled 3 days before our event! I am coordinating an event for a business for 100 employees, and he didn't feel the need to apologize for miscommunication or even try to make things fair. He just cancelled... I would definitely reconsider this caterer if you are planning a special event. You do not want to rely on Albert, and he cancels just days before your special day. read more
