We hired her for 5 dinners ahead of time, after looking for Chef's in the Palm Springs area, we picked her she was the most expensive but thought she must be the best, and would not give us a break in price for al the dates we asked for. Okay that is fine so we went ahead and booked her. .All her invoices stated Gratuity Not Included, so we gave her tip in cash the first time and the next 4 visits she said just pay me the tip at the end. Three days before our last dinner she sent an invoice which now she added a New line item of 22% gratuity. She asked my husband for the last invoiced to be paid within 1/2 hour of getting here. We had 8 guest and my husband said we will Zelle you or Venmo or PayPal on the tip, after we go over all of the invoices, she said No and I will not leave until I get it and went and sat at the barstool until we paid her 22 % nonnegotiable . She was very rude and unprofessional in our opinion, with all our guest here she did not care. Also, lots of adders to our invoice which were not expected. Her food was good and lie oved her helpers , we asked to have food prepared ahead of time because she spent over 6 hours the first time she was will to do it in a commercial kitchen with extra charge but well worth it... read more

We love Chef Sarena cooking! She made the most delicious Moroccan meal for our small Retreat in La Quinta. Including the yummiest stuffed Dates with goat cheese. She catered both for the vegans and non-vegans in the group. Chef Sarena ensured safety and cleanliness first. She sets up and breakdown fast and will easily be comfortable cooking in your kitchen. Chef Sarena even takes the time to check in with the guests to ensure everyone is fully satisfied. Chef Serena catered an event at our home tonight for 10 guests. Hands down, she exceeded our expectations. She pulled together a 6 course meal that would blow your mind. It was clear that she uses high quality ingredients. The prime filet was perfectly cooked. The lobster mac and cheese couscous was omg give me more. She made our last night in Palm Springs a delicious and enjoyable one to remember. Chef Sarena was so easy to work with, responding to my emails in a timely fashion and came up with a delicious menu. Two words, STAY AWAY! This lady can not cook! She took advantage of my family and was fired 4 days into a day 10 contract. She had the nerve to want to get paid the entire fee which I thought was totally unreasonable. As it is I overpaid her trying to be fair and she was still unappreciative, she even threaten to call the authorities!. She was argumentative and rude to my family and did not want to listen to any of our criticism. She just blamed us, all 7 of us for the issues. P.S. we all suffered either food poisoning or the flu, my guess is the latter and she made spicy enchilada's for us the next day back, OH and also raw shrimp for dinner that night and we weren't having sushi! We were fortunate enough to dine with Chef Sarena when she was guest cooking with PS Underground years ago. I can tell you that her pork belly and beans are the best I've ever had and still are. We had to cancel our trip to Palm Springs due to the COVID-19 global pandemic and recommendations from the CDC to cancel non-essential travel and maintain proper social distancing. We reached out to Chef Sarena to let her know this unfortunate news with 2 weeks notice. We had booked her to prepare dinner for our group of 4 one night during our trip. Chef Sarena refused to give us a full refund, and only refunded us 50% of our total deposit. We reached out to let her know that we sympathize with small businesses right now, but we felt it was unfair to penalize us for following the proper recommendations from the local, state and federal government to stay home. Especially with 2 weeks notice. She still refused to give us a full refund. We will not be using Chef Sarena when we end up rescheduling our trip to Palm Springs. read more

There was 8 of us in town for a small getaway for the weekend. Sarena was hired to cook a nice dinner for us at our rental home. She arrived early to cook for us while we enjoyed our relaxing time that we had left before dinner was served. Sarena was very prompt and professional in serving our dinner at 6:30. The table was all set up and ready to go, it felt like we were in a restaurant. Our dinner began by being served a glass of wine and then announcing our first course. The first course was Grilled Peach Caprese and let me just say it was beyond delicious, Soo good, It was so refreshing and delicious everyone loved it! Then our main course was Filet Mignon surf and turf followed by a chocolate cake which was delicious as well! Sarena and her waiter were very nice and professional and very pleasant to talk with!
