We had hired IDK caterers for our wedding celebration last weekend. The decision was an extremely…read moredisappointing one for us as hosts and family. There were not one but various major issues with the service. 1. The amount of food being served was limited and all the guests had to wait for long periods of time between the servings. Many of the food items like roti and paratha were not even served. 2. We witnessed a lot of rudeness from the staff while interacting with family and friends, which is very unexpected since one doesn't expect this from someone in service industry, let alone basic human manners. 3. Coming to major part, we had 2 main desserts that we primarily had in the menu while they added 1 more complimentary dessert to the menu. However on the day, I could only see 1 complimentary dessert being served, that too when we asked where the desserts are. Me, being the bride, never saw the other 2 desserts, that I was so much looking forward to. This was way more disappointing that things promised were not delivered. As a host and bride, I was very disappointed with the management as things were slow and everyone in the staff looking clueless on what to be served next, clearly showing lack of management and service. Honestly, for me, they don't even deserve single star review, as instead of acting on the feedback that we were giving them on the day, they chose to be even more rude to us, which shows the most unprofessional service company. Overall, realistically, I would rate 0 stars and would recommend others to run away from this company if you want to enjoy your party/celebration.

We hired IDK Caterers for our wedding after several detailed discussions and planning meetings…read more Before the event, communication was excellent. Every menu item, service detail, and expectation was discussed and agreed upon, which gave us confidence that our wedding catering would be handled professionally. Unfortunately, everything changed after we made the final payment. The first issue was that they backed out of their promise to provide a live tandoor, claiming the venue roads were too narrow to bring the equipment to the cooking area. However, the venue staff informed us that previous caterers had successfully brought much larger stone ovens into the same location. It felt like they simply didn't want to honor what had been promised. During cocktail hour, they decided to serve four appetizers and keep 2 appetizers as live counter. However, the service was extremely slow. Trays came out infrequently, guests were left waiting for long periods, and many people couldn't get enough food. Several guests eventually gave up trying to get more appetizers. The biggest disappointment came during dinner service. Three desserts were promised: Gulab Jamun, Mango Mousse, and live Jalebi with Rabdi. We understood that the Jalebi would be prepared later because the chef was occupied at the live grill, and we were completely fine with that. What was unacceptable was that even the ready-made desserts were not served properly. Gulab Jamun wasn't brought out until roughly half the guests had already finished dinner. Mango Mousse was essentially never served during dinner, and if it was eventually brought out, it was only after most guests had left for the dance floor. The Jalebi and Rabdi were also served far too late to be enjoyed as part of dinner. The live grill was another major issue. Service was painfully slow, with guests waiting a long time just to receive a single skewer. It was obvious they were not prepared to operate a live grill for the number of guests they had agreed to serve. Our contract and payment were for 100 guests, yet only 76 people actually attended the wedding. Even with significantly fewer guests than expected, they still struggled to keep up. To make matters worse, in the middle of dinner they stopped serving one of the main entrée dishes because they claimed it had run out. Dal Makhani was also finished and could not be refilled because they said they had no more prepared. Instead, they started serving leftover Chole from cocktail hour as part of dinner. Running out of multiple main dishes when you have fewer guests than contracted is simply unacceptable and shows poor planning and preparation. When we raised these concerns, we were told they counted the number of guests based on how many dinner plates had been used. This explanation made no sense. At Indian weddings, families rarely eat at the same time. People often go back and forth, help children or elders, or eat in shifts. Counting plates instead of actual guest count is not a reasonable way to justify running out of food. Our wedding was one of the most important days of our lives, and catering is a huge part of the guest experience. Sadly, IDK Caterers failed to deliver on multiple promises despite having clear communication beforehand and receiving full payment. The execution, planning, timing, and professionalism were extremely disappointing. We expected a stress-free experience and instead had to worry about guests waiting for food, desserts never being served on time, and main dishes running out. Based on our experience, we cannot recommend IDK Caterers for an event where reliability and honoring commitments are important.

We could not be happier with the recommendation as the appetizers and entrées were absolutely stunning -- both in flavor and aesthetics! Our biggest difficulty was choosing dishes from his diverse catalog of offerings since they all sounded delicious. He was also very accommodating and made various adjustments to account for particular food allergies that some of our guests had (without compromising on flavor at all). For appetizers, we chose: - Pepper-Crusted Seared Ahi Tuna (Seka Hills EVOO, Sicilian Pesto, Herbs) - Ratatouille Tarts (Puff Pastry, Seka Hills EVOO, Parmigiano Reggiano) - Pistachio Flatbread (Onion, Burrata, Honey, and Chili Oil -- this one was a extra-huge hit with all guests) For dinner, we started with a Local Harvest Salad (Farm Vegetables, Fruit, Vinaigrette, Cheese, and Nuts -- plating was particularly beautiful for the salad), and had three entrée options: - Wagyu New York Steak (Imperial American Wagyu, Roasted Vegetables, Marinated Portobello Mushrooms, Potato Galette, and Red Wine Jus) - Signature Duck (Mary's Crusted Duck Breast, Hind-Quarter Confit, Potato Cake, Charred Vegetables, and Duck Jus) - Roasted Butternut Squash with Cannellini Beans (Charred Vegetables, Marinated Portobello Mushrooms, and Saffron-Rosemary Broth) Throughout our entire wedding and afterwards, guests were telling us how impressed they were and that it was the best food they had ever had at a wedding! He and his team arrived right on schedule, set up (including silverware and plates) cooked and served outstanding food, provided extremely attentive service, and then cleaned up, leaving the kitchen absolutely spotless (while also deftly navigating a brief power outage!). We cannot recommend Adam Small Cooks highly enough! His food, attention to detail, and service are truly next level. Thank you again for making our wedding so special!

Chef Adam was amazing!!!…read more We celebrated a friend's birthday with 6 people at an Airbnb in Sonoma. We had a six course menu (see below for details) that was excellent! For the vegetarian in the group (me) he was able to whip up a wonderful dish when everyone else was eating halibut. Every single dish was a stand out and the group was so happy with how everything turned out. This was a wish of the birthday girl - to have a private chef and to spend time with her girlfriends. She was blown away by the experience. The 6 course meal included: Fried Baby Artichokes: lemon aioli, herbs, chili oil Flatbread: preserved truffle, pistachios, onion, burrata, honey, chili oil Ash Roasted Beets: kimchi honey, pistachios, ravigote, feta Charred Zucchini Agnolotti: fried sage, brown butter, lemon, pepper, parmigiana Seared Halibut: fennel-potato salad, herbs, haricot vert, preserved truffle champagne sauce Under-Baked Chocolate Cake: Italian meringue, Luxardo cherries, cocoa nibs Also, our kitchen was left spotless! Thanks again Chef Adam for giving us the perfect first day of our trip!

We found him on yelp and loved his reviews and also loved how unique his menu was as it had Korean and Chinese fusion which was so perfect for our wedding. The food is absolutely incredible and we literally got so many compliments from our guests saying the food was the best food they've ever had at any wedding. Chef ken was also very helpful in helping us pick out the dish wear and arranged all of the rental dishware which made the process easy. The only problems we had with Chef Ken was that he can often be non-responsive and difficult to get in touch with through email. He's definitely busy and has multiple private events going on but at times we had to really hunt him down. It was difficult also because his secretary went on vacation around the time of the wedding so I think he was managing everything on his own. Also, I would also get everything written in bullet points for Chef Ken as he's definitely busy and it's easy for him to forget things we agreed on such as quantity of amount of certain dishes, rental numbers, types of food we ordered, deduction of the initial taste testing, etc. Small things but it changes the overall invoice and required a bunch of redoing of the invoices. He also said he would help us come up with a custom drink menu for our wedding which we ended up scrambling at the end to make our own menu. Again, I think there was just too much for Chef Ken to do on his own without extra help. Overall though, the wedding day went extremely smoothly with no issues. The staff he hired was solid and exceptional. The bartenders were awesome and fun. The food including the entrees, dessert and appetizers were amazing and it was unanimous from the guests that the food at our wedding was by far the best from any other wedding they've been to. Highlights was everyone loves the Miso Chilean Sea bass, Korean Street Tacos, Poke Tacos and the Tomahawk steak. My personal favorite was the Garlic Noodles!

Chef Eric brings all of the ingredients and a lot of his own supplies- he just needs a working stove/oven and a bit of fridge space to work his magic! He brought some of his own fancy plateware for the main course and dessert, and used our forks, drink ware and other plates. In terms of timing, he arrives about 1-1.5 hours before service to set up and get ready. For service, he brought out fresh utensils and presented each dish to us! We're big foodies and he was nice enough to answer some of our questions about the food, technique, and his background. My partner and I started with a little gem salad that was truly stunning and delicious! My partner mentioned it was the best food to be served on our plates! The salad was then followed by a warm and yummy spring pea and asparagus risotto. I had the roasted chicken roulade stuffed with herbs with romesco sauce and veggies, and my partner had the steak au poivre with pomme puree and veggies. Both of these were great but we both agreed the steak was our fav! For dessert, we had the strawberry shortcake which was "not too sweet" and a perfect and light way to end the night! What delighted us the most was that Chef Eric had cleaned the whole kitchen (loaded the dishwasher, cleaned the stove, emptied the dish rack), AND PROVIDED LEFTOVERS! Seriously so stoked to eat more of the salad and strawberry shortcake. All in all, this was an awesome experience and we would definitely contact Chef Eric again for another dinner!
