This is a terrible company that cheat their customers, I ordered a sandwich table from this site and canceled it next day because I changed my mind on the item, I was assured that it was canceled and no charge was put on my credit card, instead they charged my card right away and three days later I got an email saying it was shipped. I called and asked why it was not canceled and that I had called right away for cancelation. They said oh don't worry when you get the shipment just refuse it and it will be shipped back without extra charge. I got a call about a call from the supposed truck driver a week later saying it was ready to be delivered and I told them that I'm refusing it since I have canceled the order, the driver said not a problem, and he will just take it back to the warehouse. I waited two month and the credit card still has not been refunded, I called numerous times to ask why and they assured me that someone will call me back, but no one ever did. I finally emailed and called again this week and told them that I would dispute this charge and today I see a credit on my statement, and they had only credited my card a partial refund! I am going to call the bank and dispute this charge, please be ware and don't use this website for any of your restaurant supply needs! read more

Classic bait and switch. Ordered a pan for a better price than Amazon, have to pay for shipping, but oh well. Then get an email from "Order Processing Dept", not even a name of a rep, stating that my item was sold to another customer right before I ordered. Also, Lodge is having troubles keeping up with manufacturing. How convenient! They say please wait and we'll mail out soon. Well 20 days pass and no word. I send an email in the yesterday evening to cancel my order. Guess what, 6am I get an email that "has already been sent to our warehouse to ship today". So it hasn't shipped yet but still KaTom is gonna go ahead despite my instructions. I call customer service, get transferred to a voicemail. Call back, ask for a supervisor, wait on hold for 10 minutes, before calling again. Finally get a supervisor, who gives lame excuse after excuse that worsens the situation. I tell her to provide a prepaid return shipping label, have to repeat 3 times, and she says she has to ask her office manager and will get answer in 5 days. She says, if I want I can call back at that time. So this supervisor not only does not have the authority to have a return label made, but she may or may not follow up on this incident. After giving the company a negative review I was contacted by Becky Allen in customer service to see how things could be made right. I was skeptical but went ahead and decided to give her a chance. The initial issue was showing an item in stock only to find out that it wasn't but still processing my order and telling me I would be contacted when it was back in. I emailed and cancelled my order, which they did, and Becky found a case of the item I wanted, asked me if she could make it right and ship it to me expedited at no extra cost to me so I accepted. My order arrived the next business day and I was very pleased, so much so that I wanted to give this positive review. Being a business owner myself I can appreciate trying to make things right and going beyond was is expected and then the customer shows appreciation. I really believe Katom has read the negative reviews and is trying to improve so I will be ordering and giving them another chance in the future! read more

I REALLY wish I read the reviews beforehand because it looks like we are NOT the only victims of being scammed by Katom. They have repeatedly told me that they would refund us our money from the DEFECTIVE & OUT OF SERVICE equipment that we received. We have called & emailed WEEKLY and have spoken to numerous departments about our issue and each time, we have been passed around and have been led to believe that we would get our refund back for EQUIPMENT THAT WE NEVER USED. This is $2k that we're talking about and to take it from a small business like that? We trusted Katom as a vendor and when we did not receive the order in perfect condition and returned it to the warehouse - THIS is how they treat us. We have been extremely patient with their team, but each time we have ALWAYS been left in the dark and I promise you that if I did not continuously keep this up for MONTHS, they would throw this case in the trash & pocket our money. read more

I wish I could give this company zero stars. Horrible customer service and horrible return policy. I purchased an ice machine and grind master grin-n-brew for my new coffee house totaling $3,800. They sat in the box while I finished construction. After opening them It took 2 weeks for proper install of water lines and such and a week of troubleshooting why they weren't working We decided to call warranty hotlines and they sent out techs to troubleshoot(which took time in a rural area) we decided to return the unit and get a better quality grinder and brewer separate. They now want to tell me I'm past the 30 day mark. Well duh! Units still don't work and I'm stuck with a replacement of a product that probably will break again. Just do your research on the manufacturer and save money by purchasing through another company that Katom. Also make sure you want the item permanently if you buy from Katom. read more

I should check the reviews here before I gave them my business. I ordered several expensive items from Katom, one of the bar cooler was an defect unit. Unfortunately, I open the box and found this out after a month when I received it so It passed the return period. That was ok! I have tried to deal with the customer service to get all the broken parts send to me and I was told they will be arriving in a week. Guess what?? All the parts have not been shipping out yet after a week!! and I am not informed!! I have been waiting for these parts so I can fix the cooler and use it. I called and asked again when I will receive those parts, the only thing they told me was they did not have any information about that. Well...they lose my business and probably they don't care. In the past I have ordered several times from them and they have repeatedly been delays in sending my orders or loosing the order in the warehouse. The last and now final order which will now never be placed with them, I had to contact them several time to get the information they had promised to get back to me with and didn't and now in my final call to them to get an answer I was on the phone with them for almost an hour and still got the run a round and never got an answer to be able to place my order. I attended the Christmas charcuterie class held at Katom. Each guest spot was setup by Amy Hawk of Katom & Kaysiefrom UT Extension in the kitchen area of Katom. it was a lot of fun to learn to use the specialty icing & get explanations as to the differences in different frostings. The store was decorated for Christmas & was well appointed. These ladies did a fantastic job of welcoming our group & explaining all the instructions we needed to complete our "sweet treats". It was a great class & I look forward to being able to attend more events at Katom in the future. The door prizes were a great extra surprise too. thanks for the great hospitality. read more

Horrible service!!! Ordered a drink dispenser that I was told would arrive within a week. It had not arrived after 3 WEEKS! I called to cancel the order and they told me to refuse the shipment when it came, which I was not home so it was left on my porch. Now they want me to pay to mail it back ($75 minimum shipment cost) and they take 25% restocking fee!!!! I spoke to upper management and they did absolutely nothing. I called to cancel 3 times before the order shipped and HAVE NEVER EVEN OPENED THE BOX and they will not take it back without over $125 taking of the $230 price!!! If you place an order for an item you are familiar with and they happen to have it in stock - generally no problem. But if there is any issue with the product whatsoever, you are absolutely out of luck. Katom has the WORST customer service, the absolute WORST. They will respond to this comment with a happy little lip service response as window dressing to the casual reader. Do not be fooled. I've called and called and called and emailed and emailed and emailed and even filed Better Business Bureau complaints with no luck. This company does not care. In OCTOBER 2019, I bought gold and silver plates for a New Year's party and to celebrate my niece's engagement. The product did not arrive, I called the company and nobody knew how to give me information, we requested the cancellation. I bought new dishes for the party. So to my surprise 5 months later (24 FEBRUARY) the dishes arrive, and now they don't want to accept the cancellation without me paying the 20% fee. This is abuse, do not buy, or you will have the same problems. Read the reviews before, research and see for yourself how bad this company is in service and in attendance. read more

I make a lot of orders in Katom. At the moment, there are 32 of them in the amount of several tens of thousands of dollars. But every order is a struggle for survival! My PayPal payments are declined !! asked to pay through wire transfer. After my payment is declined, PayPal blocks the money for several days and I can not use it. Payments via wire transfer are terribly inconvenient! It takes hours of communication with the support to mine such a payment has been approved. Also, additional commissions of the bank are charged for this. Such an attitude towards customers is outrageous! read more

Ordered toilet paper on April 4. Called and chatted for an update on 04-14. Talked with two very nice customer service reps who told me that their supplier will ship in approx 8-10 weeks or April 20 at the soonest. Obviously due to the huge demand for toilet paper, this was not a surprise. For those of you giving them 1 star for not having toilet paper - get a grip!!!! If you need toilet paper now, maybe you should try calling them and ask how long it will take to ship. They are doing the best they can right now. This is the worst experience I ever had with any online purchases. I ordered one item on 08/30 and after 15 days, it was delivered at wrong address. Called their sales department and C/S department, they said the packet has been delivered. They keep on giving the same information which I already knew from UPS tracking number. In the meantime, I called my next door UPS store and the package was delivered over there. Please remember that these guys don't have some items in stock, they should have some indication to customer when order is placed. I will never order again. read more

I've read the comments about customer service. I couldn't agree less. Mine was a relatively simple issue, but the customer service rep (Dustin) went out of his way to get my issue resolved. I had complained about a Lodge carbon steel pan that, though pre-seasoned, was terrible. I use carbon steel pans a lot and every one that I have is way better than any Teflon pan that I have (and tons safer, too). Dustin ended up getting another supplier to send me an unseasoned replacement for the Lodge pan. Phenomenal! I will shop KaTom again, for sure! read more

I ordered (and paid for, since they charge at the time of order & not at the time of shipping like the other supplier I usually use) a piece of kitchen equipment over a month ago. It said it would ship in 2-3 weeks. After 4 weeks and no shipping info yet I called KaTom, who said it was shipping that day. Well, that was last week and it still hasn't shipped nor have I received information as to why. I will update this review if I get my item and/or a satisfactory response from KaTom. Don't buy anything from Katom as they will not warranty or be responsible for their products they sell. I bought a rice cooker from them and it doesn't work out of the box. They refused to refund my purchase and said since i opened it they can't accept it back. How can you find out if something work or not if you don't open it? Never heard of or dealt with any company like Katom before. Don't buy or you will regret it. So i lost my money but at least i can warn anyone who wish to purchase from them. read more

I live in a small town without many outlets for shopping. I love shopping at KaTom Restaurant Supply because they have a retail store just a few miles from my house. Their selection is fantastic. It's great because not only do they carry the everyday items I need, but they also carry unique items that I wouldn't be able to find anywhere else! I love their spatulas with the smiley faces! I also love their colorful display of stand mixers. I'll be back for sure! read more
