While in Okc we always venture back to El Reno for my favorite Mexican food. In my humble opinion, this is THE BEST Chelino's period! (Yes I've tried most of them). I love the thin large chips & tasty salsa @this location. We typically start with sharing a delicious Botana. Two of my favs: The crispy tacos & wonderfully tasty homemade tamales. We will not be returning to this local Chelinos. We went 2 months ago and service was slow, the margarita machine was broken but they failed to state that when a frozen margarita was ordered. Queso was not as good as I remembered it always being. Slow service and not impressed at all. We returned tonight and just thought that was a bad night for the restaurant. But we were wrong. Same slow service but even worse this time. The margarita machine is still not working?! She said they are having a hard time getting a part. No Sangria to offer. Limited on good quality margaritas unless you want a sugar filled one the rocks margarita. I guess don't go here if you enjoy a good Margarita with your Mexican food. My SO ordered a Pacifico and 15 minutes later they return to say they are out of Pacifico. No Pacifico. Our daughter said she wasn't going to order a meal and just wanted tortillas. She is 100lbs. They said, we'll still have to charge you for the set up. ?!! Okay, fine no argument from us. But your margarita machine is broken, you're out of Pacifico, your queso has no taste at all, NO TASTE AT ALL, and your service is slow as heck. Ambiance- all the blinds were closed during broad daylight and 60 degrees out. Just a personal preference of mine to have some light when it's daylight out but I realize that's not a preference for all. Cleanliness- didn't use the restroom and never have there. One of our menus had food on it so we set it aside and didn't use it. Maybe the guy at the register could wipe these down while standing there miserably. The guy that you pay at the register is not friendly at all. It was the same guy both times. No how did you enjoy your meal, how was everything, have a nice night, nothing, not even a smile. So sad for this well known Chelinos brand. We wish them the best and hope someone can turn this place for the better. We usually always go to Tequila Plata and we're quickly reminded why we continue to eat there weekly and how we will not give this Chelinos another chance. They have a large menu, including lunch specials, and alcoholic beverages. The waiters always bring plenty of chips, salsa, queso, relish, butter and tortillas while you wait for your food. Usually the food comes out pretty quickly. read more

I'm sorry but the food was just terrible. We ordered deluxe nachos at $14.99 and a single cheese enchilada at $6.99. The nacho meat was supposed to be fajita beef. It was small hard things that looked like rabbit turds. The enchilada was just a smushed soggy mess of a thing. I will definitely never go back again. Save your money. Wish I did. read more

Was passing through and decided to stop and grab lunch. The food was extremely underwhelming. I think the oil they used needed to be changed because the food/chips had a very unpleasant smell. I got the lunch fajitas and the bottom of my plate under my food had an excess amount of oil. read more

Ordered cheese and onion enchiladas with eggs on top. I am a run of the mill vegetarian. The enchiladas that came were covered in a meat sauce. The way my dog went after them I thing the enchiladas were meat filled. It was horrible. I was so hungry. The salsa was great. My husband enjoyed his shrimp dish. Be careful when ordering online from this place!!! I order a chelinos bowl and then drove 30 minutes home to find out the bed of white rice it was supposed to be on wasn't there. I then called them to rectify the situation and they only responded with thats not how we make it! Well if that's not how you make it then don't false advertise online or adjust your menu because I did not get what I paid for. They didn't offer a refund or a solution, they just kept repeating we never make it with rice. I'll ever order from here again! read more

This is one of the best Chelino's Mexican Restaurants Their cheese dip is still the horrid canned cheese that all the Mexican restaurants in the metro area offer for free. I don't even judge them for it - it's what they do I. This area. I ordered an avocado enchilada with cheese sauce and a cheese enchilada with sour cream sauce. They were so good. I especially loved the avocado one. I will in fact be back in the future just for this lovely enchilada. The sopapillas which were also gratis were lovely also. read more

Went here for dinner. I'm from Midwest City and have always gone to the one in Midwest city. It has been the best and my go to. I recently moved to el reno and went here for dinner and we got sat, tried to ask the waiter for what we needed and they walked away too fast to even listen to what I was saying. They brought the bill and after that didn't come back to the table. I still needed a box and wanted dessert. We made eye contact with the waiter and even said " Sir " multiple times. They checked on the other three tables that were sitting but left us sitting there. Finally a waitress saw us trying to get somebody's attention and came and got us what we needed but needless to say if I want Mexican food I'm driving to Midwest City for it. read more

Ordered the enchiladas with cheese sauce because I heard that they were amazing but I was very disappointed. Tasted like nothing, had 4 cubes of steak in each one, and was cold. This restaurant is amazing! Big portions and amazing quality! The chimichanga dinner is delicious you have a choice of beef or shredded chicken and it comes with rice and beans on the side and tons of cheese. The soda is good but in my opinion, it does have to much ice. Once you walk in they ask how many people then they seat you and you can look at the menu and eat some chips and salsa then after you order, they bring you your food freshly made and on a huge ( and hot) plate! This is the second day they are open. They made us wait 20 min to get a table, while the 8 tables in the middle of the room where open. Once seated the table was so sticky I didn't want to touch it. The service was terrible. Half a basket of chips where thrown on the table, no salsa , no cheese dip. They had no tea. The service was terrible, the waiter had no idea what was on the menu. The food was hot, but not good at all. The whole place is dirty. It was total chaos. They had no change when paying the bill. This is a classic example of the owner pushing the business to open before it was ready. If I could give a zero rating I would. The worst part was watching the guy in the kitchen that was prepping the plates coming out the oven was using his bare hands after handling dirty dishes and picking up trash off of the filthy floor, he never washed his hand the entire we were there. read more

We had 10 people in our party and arrived at 6:00 on a Saturday night. They quickly pushed tables together and had us seated in no time. Our waiter did a super job of caring for us, including accommodating several special requests. But the best part of all was the food. Everything we ate was just delicious, and it appeared that our whole party felt the same way. I wanted something on the lighter side, so I ordered the Chicken Tortilla Soup, which was served in a large bowl. It had a really tasty, highly seasoned but not-too-spicy broth base. The presentation was nice with a heap of fried tortilla strips and a dusting of fresh chopped cilantro on top. My husband gets the same thing every time - the Beef Tacos Al Carbon. He says the beef is really tender and richly flavored and he likes that it comes with guacamole. The free sopapillas are hot, tender, and tasty.
