The menu prices don't reflect the price you pay. I ordered liquor off of their menu to be made into a ranch water - there was a $2 up charge - I'm assuming for the soda water and lime juice? Not a big deal and I brushed it off. This review and low rating is for them charging me 5 times. Don't pay with a card here. I called to get the charges reversed. I was informed that their machine was broken and they were "working on it". It's been weeks, I finally had to go through my bank to have the charges disputed. The service was pretty good, the food was pretty good; but being charged for everything on the side unlike any other Mexican restaurant I've ever visited in OKC in the 30 plus years I've lived here came as quite a surprise. As a result, I think they deserve to be tagged with $$$!! Lowered my rating based on the fact that they processed my credit card for more than the total I left on the ticket. The tip amount I leave is always intended for my total bill to be an even dollar amount $19.00. Even if my math is incorrect, my signature on the line is agreeing to pay the total amount as it appears on the check!! read more

Traveling so not familiar with the local restaurants. Happy surprise here! Fast, friendly service. They bring salsa and queso with your chips at no extra charge. I had a burrito and a tamale and it was delicious. Would definitely eat here again if we were in the area. read more

I often go to San Marcos Mexican restaurant right down the street and it seemed like it might be similar but the only thing that was similar was their price but not food quality or pre entry arrival snacks. Simply said, this is my wife's new favorite Mexican food stop and she doesnt even have to beg me to come here for food! The hot sauce, not the regular salsa, is amazing. It tastes like it is made from fresh fire roasted peppers. The enchiladas were filled with shredded melty cheese and covered with a wonderful sour cream sauce. The chips and tortillas tasted like they were made fresh and I would be amazed if they were not. The beef used in the dishes that is fajita style is perfectly seasoned and cooked to perfection. We have been back multiple times now and the service is consistently excellent and the food is always amazing. We have not had a dish less than excellent yet. read more

It was ok, I've had better. Service was poor even though they weren't busy. The food looked good but once looked into it it was not as good to see. The alcoholic beverage we had was ok being on a regular Mexican restaurant. It was too much grease at the bottom of platter. A bit pricey and it wasn't served as it was advertised. This place is LEGIT. Came for lunch and my gawd it was delicious. We started with the obligatory chips, salsa and queso...surprisingly not bland. The salsa was fresh and light, just the right amount of citrus - very well-balanced. Queso was good, lighter than what you usually get at other local Mexican restaurants. Chips were decent and lightly salted, a good start overall. I had iced tea, and the familiar taste of Cain's hit me, so not bad. My friend (celebrating his birthday) had his usual Tecate and from what I could tell, he rather enjoyed it. *Side note: The staff, while attentive to our needs, allowed us to visit and dine in relative peace. They always came at the right time. I had the fajita nachos and whoooweee they was so good! Lemme tell ya, they "got a good scald" on those nachos - just the right combination of ingredients to make you keep eating. I almost couldn't stop! The guacamole (amazing) and sour cream were served on the side so I could control the right amount for each bite. Hey, I like to eat! I had a few preconceived notions because this place is on the Meridian corridor and just, hotels, fast food and bars...you know what I mean. While we were there, all walks of life came in to dine, but most notably other Mexicans were eating there; I saw that and thought it has to be decent if Mexicans eat there as well. Obviously, I was right to think so. Will definitely be coming back to try more of the menu...won't you join me? read more

OK, but not the best taste. Nothing wrong and people are nice, but the food is just OK.

There are much better Mexican food places than this. When we placed the order to go, the girl who answered the phone didn't speak any English so we had to wait 7 minutes for someone else to get on the phone. He spoke a little English but we had to tell him several times that we wanted TWO chicken enchilada dinners and one beef enchilada dinner. When we got there, they had only made one of each so we had to wait 20 minutes for them to make another chicken enchilada dinner. By then, the other two dinners were already cold. They didn't apologize or offer to remake the cold dinners or even give any kind of discount. They actually acted like they were mad because they had to make another one. The rice was good, even cold. That's about it. The beans were inedible. I can't even describe them, they were so bad. The cheese sauce was basically watered down Velveeta with a can of green chili peppers and a couple diced tomatoes thrown in. The salsa didn't have much flavor at all and no spice whatsoever. It was like eating diced tomatoes drowned in water. The enchiladas were ok. This place was a lot more expensive than my usual place I go to for Mexican food. I won't be going back. read more

Am always puzzled how there can be such opposite reviews of the same restaurant! Came here anyway. Food was great! No problems with quality, quantity or service.This is deluxe nachos. I really like this spot in OKC. They have authentic Mexican food with great service. I got the beef fajitas and they were delicious!! Our server, Ximena is the perfect example of what a server should be. She was very friendly, attentive, and super fast in getting our refills. She also gave great advice on her favorite plates. Horrible service, waitress's and waiters just standing around not doing shit. Took them for ever to come take our order after we told them we were ready to order TWICE! I miss the old staff they had, the waiters they have now just simply suck !!! I do not recommend unless you are willing to wait up to 1 hour and 30 minutes for your food to come out when there isn't even a lot of people there I would Understand if it was packed but it was not busy at all!! On top of all that we were not offered any refills no silverware no tortillas we had to ask for all that our selves more than once!!! They just don't care about delivering good customer service to returning clients I must add this only happens when the boss isn't there we tried giving them the benefit of the doubt because we do enjoy their food but this is the third time of DISAPPOINTING SERVICE! The service at this place should be an example to all restaurants, from door to table and out again. My server was all smiles, humble, helpful and attentive. Not in a fake please tip me well kind of way either(although I did) but as if he really took pride in what he was doing. It was so refreshing! Every time we go to OKC we go here as it is walking distance from the hotel, and it never disappoints !! Amazing food, even more amazing service !! Everything from the chips and salsa and queso to the drinks and food was once again on point. So glad this was good this time once again as this was more than likely our last trip to OKC. We had the shrimp fajitas, and the beef and potato fajitas. Husband had a margarita and I had a drink with a corona bottle in it and for the life of me I cannot remember the name !! Stayed at Comfort Suites () and walked across the parking lot to Zapata's for dinner. Was not disappointed. They offer a true authentic local flare! Excellent service Kevin! You made sure we were taken care from our marg's to the completion of our desert! (my fav! :) We started off with great Margs, complimentary chips and salsa: which were fresh, and tasty! (To the folks that like hot spicy salsa - you may want to add a kick of hot sauce.) Hubby and i split a burrito dinner and found it flavorful and satisfying! We're from So Cali..LA Area and I've never experienced the hospitality that they shown to us..I came to Oklahoma..Ft Sill to see my Son graduate from Basic Combat Training and our flight had been delayed to LAX..so we got a hotel and went to Zapata's Restaurant! The food is decent, but I've had other issues that cause the poor review. 1 - My order came out wrong. I think the cooks mixed up my flautas with my co-worker's. On a busy night I might let this slide but there were only 2 tables of people when I was in. 2 - Twice I have been here and they have overcharged me for my Corona. The window next to the door is painted with a huge "Corona $3.00" sign... Presumably to draw customers in. The first time I had the issue, I mentioned it to the cashier, and I told them it wasn't a huge deal but I wanted to point it out. They are either overcharging people in the cash register are the painting on the window should be removed or changed. Today I went again, and it has been probably a year since I was there before. Once again, the Coronas were billed at $4 each. My friend spoke Spanish and so she was able to ask the cashier about it. The cashier explained that the windows were painted by a previous restaurant and that isn't their prices. Look... I don't know how long the current restaurant has been in this location, but it has been at least a few years because I have been there multiple times over the last three years. Even if they don't want to pay somebody to repaint the window, they should just have the paint taken off. It's false advertising, plain and simple. I don't appreciate that. It's not even about the money at this point, but the principal. I likely won't be back because there are lots of other honest businesses in the area to choose from. read more

The best Mexican in town! We love it soo much we stop it every time we are in Oklahoma. The Micheladas are the best we have had with a lime covered rim. Food is delicious!! Recommend the La Parillada is a huge amount of food and the flavor is ridiculously good !! read more

My family and I came here on Sunday afternoon before trick or treating. All the tables were dirty. Our waitress was rude when taking our drink order. She took our order and decided not to deliver our drinks and clean tables instead. She looked at us with this hateful look. Other people came in we waited almost 30 minutes just for our table set up of chips and salsa ECT.. Still no drinks. Other people that came in after us got their stuff before us. I was livid. We walked out and left to go to San Marcos and we ended up spending almost 300 bucks and our server got a very good tip. I'll never eat at this trashy ass shit hole place.
