Hire a property lawyer before you go anywhere near this agency…read more Their agents (which include the owner's daughter) will lie about material aspects of the property; as soon as they have received your money (and their fees) they will ignore their contractual obligations. They are grossly irresponsible when it comes to the safety of their properties. -My flat failed Gas Inspections because of a missing part. -An electrician doing work on the property for the landlord/agent informed me that every light-bulb and socket in a large 2-bedroom flat was dangerously wired through a single, overloaded circuit-breaker. Martin & Wright rented the property after me without repairing the issue despite being aware of it. Most seriously, they are dishonest to the point of criminality when handling deposits. -They will refuse to return the money for months beyond the statutory period. -They will ignore repeated written requests to identify which Deposit Protection Scheme they are a part of; or provide proof that deposit money was kept in a separate account. These are both legal requirements. -They will deduct money for imaginary expenses and provide no proof. In my flat with unsafe electrics, they nevertheless deducted over 100 GBP for lightbulbs. They charged for additional cleaning when they initially provided the flat to me while it was still a building site. They will ignore your legal rights: -Jay Hayden told me on multiple occasions he would enter my rental property without my permission solely for the purposes of viewings several months before the end of my tenancy. His harassment was incessant even after he was made aware of when the property was available. He was hostile when I asserted my rights. Mr. Hayden will tell you often he has done this job for a very long time. Yet he shows no familiarity or respect with relevant tenancy law. Again, if you find a flat you love and Martin & Wright represent: Hire a property lawyer and let the lawyer deal with these charlatans. It will still save you money.

This winter we moved from the United States to London. In the process, we contacted various estate…read moreagents in the Finchley area of London to find a rental home. There are so many agents in the area that most only had a single house for us to look at, but Winkworth had a number of properties of interest to us. I chose two of them for a viewing. As it took me a while to get a UK mobile, I ended up calling them on a Tuesday morning at 10.30am, and they were able to meet me to view both properties from 11.15 to 12pm. Very fast on such short notice, especially considering the fact that many of the agents we contacted never got back to us at all, even after multiple attempts, so Winkworth stood out as very responsive with excellent customer service. Both properties were excellent, and Sean did a great job answering my questions and explaining the neighborhood and the various features of the house. Although we ended up choosing a different property in the end, we viewed a total of 15 houses and Winkworth's two properties were -both- in our Top 3, so that speaks very well for the agency. We would certainly have been very happy living in any of these three! Great neighborhoods and beautiful, well maintained homes. In short, we recommend using Winkworth if you're looking for an agent to find you a property or manage a property you own. They've got various offices in the area, which makes it easier to find what you need! Thanks Sean!

They offer flats and house to let or for sale in the chic area of Swiss Cottage, Maida Vale and the surrounding communities. Most of their properties are refurbished and well kept. I came here in search of the flat when I was new to zone 2. They are kind and seek to accommodate everyone whether you're looking for a simple flats or your wildest luxury dream home!

I paid two-week deposit for a flat one month before I was supposed to move in with three agreed terms. Once I signed the paper work, they emailed me to change the terms. I also had a conversation with the landlord who asked me all the weird and personal questions such as if I have friends to visit me or if my family visits me and how often etc. To this I replied, "I do have friends, and my mother comes and visits me in the summer for a couple of weeks from abroad". He said that they are not allowed to stay in the studio for more than 3 days and if I did not like this new additional term, he doesn't want to give me the flat but he will return all the deposit. I thought that the "rules" were rather odd and unfair so I emailed the angecy and said I cannot take the flat with all these changed/disageed terms. The Global Realty not only defended and made me aware of my rights as a tenant (as an agency should do) but went along with the landlord to make up a lie and that I was intending to bring in the entire family from my country to live in a studio flat, therefore they have the right to keep the deposit as a compensation. So they stole my deposit and never gave me the flat. I had already given a month notice to my flat I was living at that time and obviously I did not appreciate what happened afterwards. I ended up suing them but once they've got the money it's difficult to retrieve it especially without any recorded proof. So be aware. One thing to note is that my law firm has found that their lawer is listed in the website called "Lawyers from Hell" (name & shame equivalent for lawers). Shame on them.

We worked with an awesome guy called James from…read morethe Golders Green branch, who helped us get the key to our new house within 4 days from our first viewing. He was really nice and easy to work with. But of course once they have you as a customer, things go downhill. Once we were getting close to the end of our contract, they kept sending us very annoying emails telling us to renew our contract or give notice. In reality, we had (and wanted) the option of reverting to a month by month. I told them this in EVERY SINGLE EMAIL. But instead of responding, they would just send another email two weeks later saying that we had to renew or give notice. Finally the landlord emailed me and said: "Hey what's up, JAC strattons says you're being vague about the contract!". I immediately responded and explained that we've told them over and over, in clear terms, that we wanted to continue month by month. The landlord wrote back and said they were perfectly happy for us to do that, no problem at all, and they had no idea why JAC Strattons was being so weird. Well, by that time we'd already started looking around a bit at a few homes, and found a great place, so we ended up giving 30 days notice. Had JAC Strattons not been so pushy and non-responsive, we probably would have stayed here longer, so the landlord definitely did not benefit from their behavior. Furthermore, once the viewings for new tenants started, the landlord was working with two real estate agents. The other one was super friendly, polite and respectful. But JAC Strattons' people were always very pushy, even rude, and demanding to come over with far less than our contractually guaranteed 24 hours, and very early in the morning too. Fortunately the place got rented out after just a few days of multiple viewings per day, but I'm quite sure our very nice landlord never gave them permission to be so pushy, especially with regard to our right to 24 hours notice. If I were a landlord, I would not work with JAC Strattons.
