Having had our fill of rich (albeit delicious) French food for several days, we needed a change of flavor profile. Enter Le Royal China. We got there just as they opened and were greeted warmly. We were promptly seated and after a short time reviewing the menu, we ordered a parade of dim sum goodness. It was a perfect meal, including the hot tea, to brighten up a cold day. Under a little layer of meat was a delightful medley of noodles, bean sprouts and above all ACTUAL SPICE! There was nothing better than soaking the spring rolls in the sauce to get them a little soggy and spicy. Finishing my meal off with a little cup of lychee was perfect, too. If I go back I think I would order the same thing without any meat.

Seating is cramped and we were seated by the door, making it very cold as people came in and out. Luckily, there's seating upstairs as well. A lot of people come, many of them locals, which is a testament to how authentic the food here tastes. They also use ALOT of oil so this place isn't for the healthy. Seriously there is a pond of oil at the bottom of every dish when you're done. But the oil is what makes the dishes so so good.
