We keep hearing from friends and neighbors that this place is worth checking out...so after an early Friday morning playing 9 holes of golf, we decided to head out to Chepo's. The place looks pretty spacious inside which you can't really tell looking at its exterior. We were seated promptly and presented the menu. We zeroed in on their breakfast items and I ordered their Huevos Rancheros while my wife tried their Boko Breakfast Burrito. We also ordered coffee with our meal. The coffee served had a chickory flavor to it, reminiscent of flavors from New Orleans. I haven't had a decent huevos rancheros since my college days in So Cal where I, together with other ROTC cadets, would order it from the college cafeteria after our early morning workouts...so I was looking forward to trying it at this joint. The huevos rancheros was very good, although the "hot sauce" needed more heat so I had to ask for a spicier green sauce. The refried beans, over medium eggs, fried potatoes and the crispy bacon were all on point...and the freshly made tortillas were done right. My wife also enjoyed her breakfast burrito although she had to "deconstruct" it so she can eat it with a knife and fork. All in all, a very satisfying breakfast that we truly enjoyed. Breakfast for 2 came out to under $25 with tip.

Hooray for free chips and salsa with a decent burn!

This place is usually A-Ok to fandom for me, and today was perfect. Asked if there was any caldo left, meaning the advertised $5.99 special: cup of caldo + barbacoa taco. Ended up with a proper bowl, not the teeny cup, and no taco plus a lemonade for under $9 after tax. I will say it's the first time I've gotten a single tortilla in a tortilla warmer, and I regret NOTHING. It helped me clean up the last of the bowl quite nicely. Lovely clear flavorful broth, spoon-carvable big chunks of squash, carrot, potato, beef plus a beautiful garnish ring of sweet corn in that caldo served sun-hot on a rare near-freezing day. I drank broth until there was some room in the bowl, then stirred in my side bowl of rice and squeezed in the lemon. Perfect. Good, unobtrusive service from one lady tending near a dozen tables today. I still recommend stopping here when parking is available in this limited corner lot.

Everything we got was so super good. Inside was nice and clean and the people are nice. Salsa was a 10/10 along with the chips. Def will be back will. It was a pricey, total bill was 27 not including tip. parking lot needs some work but other than that great place.

Chips and salsa were good. Reasonable prices. Service was great. I thought tortillas were a little bland. Worth a try.

San Martians have incredible gem here. We had the breakfast barbacoa and pork chop plates plus a lengua taco. First, the lengua taco came out on warm corn tortillas, and the lemgua was tender and in sliced bite siced chunks. By itself, it was pretty good - with ANY of their salsas, even better. The wife had the barbacoa taco plate: barbacoa was all meat, great tasting but not greasy. I had the pork chop plate and I i must say, it's one of the most flavorful and juicy pork chops I've had. Both the barbacoa and pork chop plate came with delicious refreid beans that had tons of flavor. The other side that came with the plates were potatoes. Therese were freshly made, soft and pillowy and nicely seasoned. You know how you know your food is os perfect? When you dont have to add salt or pepper and here, this was the case here. And let's not skip over their homemade salsa. There's at least 8 homemade salsas of varying flavors and heat level. All are outstanding and you should try them all. Even their hottest ones have so much flavor you'll want more even though your mouth may be on fire. Heat and flavor - they've perfected each and every one of their salsas. Super impressed with todays breakfast as we'd been longong for some great Mexican breakfast plates. Wont be traveling to San Antonio for breakfast anymore - thanks for saving us a trip Toma Taco!
