I've been going to Mana's for over 30 years. The owner is awesome. Even though wait staff is always changing, they always seem to hire great people to help here. I've been coming here so long that I can go in and the owner already knows what I'd like to order. I would say it's very well worth going to, for nothing else, the great people. read more

I haven't been here in 25 years and it's still the same (delicious and very fair priced). I had the Juarez combo - two enchiladas hard beef taco and a beef tostada for $8.49! What! I was visiting here often when I was a college student at Texas State... It's still so affordable and delicious. Let me tell you, I generally judge Tex Mex place by their salsa and this one is a winner. It definitely has a kick to it. Solid Tex-Mex with a casual, hometown style that is very inviting. It is liking visiting your best friend's aunt's house who insists that she feeds you because you're too thin. This is an old school family restaurant. It's like eating in someone's home. Service was great, food delicious, and prices are super reasonable! The salsa actually had a kick to it which is excellent. It's situated in a neighborhood. Parking is available in a small parking lot out front. We weren't sure if we would make it before closing so we called our order in. We got there about five minutes before closing and told them how we used to eat here as kids. They asked if we wanted to eat there instead. We agreed and they seated us and brought us warm chips and salsa and two Topo Chicos. We had ordered two orders of guacamole enchiladas (one to eat now and one for later) and a Mana's Special (combination platter). Everything was as good as it was 20+ years ago. Stopped in Mana's on a roadtrip through Texas based on Yelp reviews and we were not disappointed. The enchilada verdes, salsa and guacamole were all delicious. In fact, we liked the salsa so much we purchased a jar to take with us. The food was served very quickly and was just what we needed on a cool, rainy day. Our server was helpful, attentive and personable. Note that this is a BYOB restaurant (something we don't have in our state). One of the reasons Yelp is so valuable to me is being able to stop in family operated restaurants off the beaten track, which we never would have found on our own. read more

I got the distinct impression that white people are not given the same consideration as Hispanics after the two tables seated after us were able to place their orders before we could get anyone to take our order. We just found this gem today thanks to Yelp and I believe we have a new favorite! I absolutely love American cheese enchiladas and since moving to Luling from the Austin area have not found anywhere close to home that comes close to Enchiladas Y Mas until now! The restaurant is small but very cute and clean. Staff is excellent and I love that it is a family run small business and we are supporting locals! We will be back soon! Loved this hole in the wall Mexican restaurant. Outside it looks rough. Inside it looks loved. The chips were nice and chunky. The salsa had a great kick. This wasn't mild, but it was great. The queso was amongst the best I have had. I ordered the Chicken Mole but about half way thru the wait was informed they ran out of Mole sauce. Would have liked to have known that earlier, but this is way too small of a spot to have everything in quantity. Instead I ordered the taco plate. Next time, I'll just order three tacos. The tacos were the best I've had in a LONG time. I went all over New Braunfels looking for the best taqueria and this would definitely rate amongst the best. The rice was above average, but the refried beans were terrible. They really need a new supplier or recipe on this one. I'd go again and maybe try the mole or tamales but definitely the tacos are a go to item. read more

In my college days, this was a great place to get a cheap diinner late after a night with friends. In my older and wiser days, I wonder what was wrong with me back then. This is a restaurant in a mobile home, so ambience is negligible to say the least. It's basic Tex-Mex. So long as you prefer quantity to quality, you're in good shape. The enchiladas are the best of the lot, but you may be better off in the frozen section at HEB depending on the day and time you visit. The migas are absolutely wretched, badly scrambled eggs with tortilla strips and Velveeta and tomatoes on top. I can usually troop through anything, but I left these mostly on the plate. Super lunch special. We each had the Juarez Combination. They only charged an extra $1 to add beans and rice to an already filling plate. Ice tea (which actually tasted like tea) included. The food was very good. Crispy taco with flavorful meat. Enchiladas good. Chalupa loaded and had really tasty tomatoes. One star off for the chips and salsa. While ok, they weren't impressive One star back for the HOT FRESH HOMEMADE tortillas. We were impressed by the service. A single person, serving, bussing, cashiering...and all with a smile. Don't judge a book by its cover. This place may not be located in the Taj Mahal, but the food is incredible! $7 lunch specials here that will feed the hungriest of people. The salsa is amazing and has just the right amount of heat. My husband loved the queso so much he had to order more with his meal. It's worth driving just a little further off the highway, literally just a few more blocks. Thanks for the great meal while we were visiting San Marcos. Worth the search. One of three very good San Marcos Mexican places and, by far, the funkiest. My sole complaint was taco meat that was WAY too salty. Other items were not noticeably salty.
