I've been here a handful of times. The staff is absolutely awful, I have never had a problem until the old woman helped me one day. There is one employee who is a wonderful man trying to do his job in a pleasant manner. However, the woman is by far the most inappropriate employee I have ever interacted within a business establishment. Her service was an absolute waste of time. She charged me $40 over and was very uncoperative in fixing the issue she had caused, infact almost trying to misplace the blame but failing because the only person to point the figure at was herself. I am a 19 year old and I was trying to purchase items for my state board in hair school, I was trying to make a purchase of $20 and ended up spending $63 and leaving the store with nothing other than utter disappointment. Once I left i Called them and was told I could come back and get my items this is when she is wasting energy in breath By yelling about absolute nonsense. the young gentleman next to her seemed highly irritated with her attitude as she was also yelling at him. He was amazing, kind, and willing to help the situation to my benefit in order to resolve her mistake. if I was the owner of thjs place I would fire her immediately and save any other normal employee in tha building and customer from having to Put up with her attitude. read more

I absolutely love this store and all of the workers have been nothing but extremely friendly and helpful every single time. They have even given me random discounts on top of their already low prices. They sometimes have crazy customers that they stand their ground with but those Karens bring it upon themselves. Been a customer here for over 10 years. The selection here is FABULOUS and does not compare to other beauty stores! They also have a frequent shoppers card so that will entice you to buy more, and as a result, save more! Incredible selection of cosmetics, beauty accessories, hair products, hair accessories, extensions, wigs, and jewelry. They sell a few other items but those are the most popular. Employees are very helpful and friendly. They have great prices for extensions and a great variety of hair quality, length, type, and color. Cherry Beauty is conveniently located right off of 696, so it's easy to exit the freeway and get back on if you live far! read more

Customer service is horrible. Walked up to check out counter and the worker continued her conversation on her cell phone for 3 more minutes. Purchased 8 bags of hair the day before only to be told I could not receive any amount of cash refund in return. Although I explained I lived 40 miles away and that a store credit would not be convenient. Men workers seemed uninterested in aiding in item location within the store. This is your typical Black beauty supply. This particular time I came in for a wig. I was headed on a trip and needed a quick style because I didn't feel up to dealing with my own hair. I walked in and looked at wigs without one person greeting me. I stopped a customer and asked their opinion and finally an employee chimed in. I wasn't horribly bothered by this as it is a typical beauty supply. But the three stars are for the employees not assisting me with finding a wig or at least the brand that I was looking for. The positives were that they have a great selection on hair and wigs. They even had a edge control that I have never heard of but worked wonders when I sampled it. I will be back due to the selection but not for the services. Also I did notices they had better prices than some other beauty supply stores when it came to wigs. read more

Prices for skin and hair care products are not as cheap as they used to be. The store carries a wide variety of cosmetics, hair supplies including extensions, weaves, and wigs. The employees are helpful and knowledgeable about the products. Plenty of parking and always a quick check out. read more

I love this beauty supply! I have been going here for over 15+ years and it's because they usually have what I'm looking for and have a large inventory! I sometimes go in there for one thing and then start browsing for things I didn't even realize I needed. The owners are super helpful and always asking if you need assistance and will usually open another register up without question if a line develops. The only downside are the prices of some items... they are a little higher than I have seen online and at others beauty supplies. read more

I used to enjoy going to this store for wigs, nail polish and nail art. However, the last 2 times I went in there I was shocked at how dusty everything was! I mean GROSS! It's bad enough that they have a crap selection of nail art and every bottle of nail polish had a thick coat of dust! I think someone could walk around with a feather duster it would take a few minutes and then maybe they would sell more. They accuse their paying customers of theft. I was there today and purchased a coin belt, earrings and something for the hair. I couldn't decide if I wanted to buy two belts and besides against it. I want home with my purchase and tried some outfits on with the belt and decided I wanted to go back and get another one. One very mean women refused to sell it to me and accused me of steeling the other belt. I tried to explain to her that I was there a couple of hours ago and purchased it and now I wanted to buy a second one. Well she refused to sell it to me and accused me of steeling the other belt. I tried again to tell her again that I had already bought it and taken it home and offered her my credit card to look it up and she refused to check. The stupid cashier said she didn't remember me. The other worker that got involved was the manager of clothing and she refused to let me buy it as well cause I didn't have a receipt. Well we started fighting and the manager actually grabbed me accusing me of trying to push the other women which I didn't do. I was angry and was pointing my finger at her. I ended up having to drive home just to return with my receipt. I have never in my life been treated like this. I was traumatized . The owner was kind and made them both apologize but only cause they were forced to. I will never ever enter that store again and I recommend you don't either it you don't want to be treated like that. It was awful. She made a real scene in the store making me look very bad. I just had one of the worst experience in customer service with the Cherry Beauty Department. Short of it is I purchase Shea Moisture conditioner by mistake instead of the hair smoothie (ok my fault). When I went to return the unopen product (with the receipt) I was told that because it was over 2 weeks they would not expect it for an exchange. After trying to plead my case I got no where. I said in vain that this was poor customer service and that I would not be coming back as a customer I was took "it doesn't matter and we dont need you!" WOW who doesn't need a customer. You mean to tell me you ha r some much money coming in from our community that the individual does not matter. What I really heard was I dont value you at all and it it were up to me I would not sell to anyone that looks like you (if I did not need the money). I went to Cherry Beauty Supply in Oak Park (10 mile and Coolidge), this is where me, my sis, my mom spend hundreds of dollars on beauty supplies. In fact, my sis just got a wig sew-in on over a month ago paying $150+. Well, on this one particular trip to Cherry I went in and bought some hair color, as I was driving out the lot, I was opening the box to see the instructions at the stop light. Well the bottle was open and splashed dye on my clothing, seats etc. I took it back right after it happened and told them it was opened and that it splashed all over me showing them my hands etc., and that I just wanted to exchange it, do you know they treated my like I was a criminal, smacking their lips and indicating they did not believe me. They did not want to even exchange it nor did they offer me an apology. I spoke to the manager about it to no avail, so I refuse to shop there again and I told them I was going to let everyone know how poorly they treated me. They didn't say sorry or nothing they treated me like I was trying to steal a $5 box of dye. I am a professional with a very good job (I am a psychologist) I do not need to steal a $5 box of hair dye from Cherry Beauty Supply. I believe race was a factor in this. I know others who have said they have experienced similar attitudes from some of the staff there. Just because I am black does not mean that I am going to steal. read more
