I am a new mom to two with a tight schedule. My stylist Gennifer took great care-- explaining what she was doing and teaching me along the way. She gave helpful tips for some wild knots I explained I had been having (post partum hair is a struggle). She did a special moisturizing treatment and my hair is so soft from the treatment she did. You can tell she knows what she's doing, has great experience, and is up to date on her knowledge. She is also Rëzo trained! I had the best experience with Gennifer. Another note- the salon itself is relaxing and beautifully decorated. It has clothes that I wish I had the time to try on after my cut! I did a partial balayage back in July (starting out small since it's been a while) and have been getting glazes every 7-8 weeks. My hair has never felt healthier. Ever since Tom - I've been visiting on a routinely basis with trims and glazes and I love the way my hair feels. I trust Tom completely with my hair and now during every visit I will just ask him what he thinks would look good and go with that :) Whenever I have a special event, he'll make sure he dolls me up. He's amazing, he's the curl and color expert! Salon is pretty spacious, clean and can get very busy on the weekends - you definitely need to schedule an appointment. Then I was told that the May 21st slot was taken. I requested my $25.00 back and surprise - no response. Another Black owned business that takes advantage of other Black customers. This was really poor business practice guys. If the May 21st appointment wasn't available then say it. Instead it feels that you're hard up for $25.00.

I used to be one of Tamara's regular clients (love love LOVE her!), but when she left, I decided to continue coming to get my hair done by the owner named Nadine. Long story short - Nadine and her current staff are very personable and do great work, but I have to deduct stars from my previously perfect 5-star review because she charged me DOUBLE what I used to pay Tamara...for the same salon and services, just a different stylist. I've been a loyal customer for years and I chose to continue coming even after Tamara left, so for Nadine to charge me double without the courtesy of telling me beforehand doesn't seem right. I'm unaware if Tamara was giving me a discount while she worked here, but if she was, Nadine could've at least notified me of the price change when I made my appointment with her. If she did, I would've considered changing the services I was getting done (pass on the deep conditioning/hair mask, get my color done there but go elsewhere for a cheaper haircut or vice versa, etc.). As much as I love how my hair looks when I get it done here, I think I'll be going elsewhere from now on where I won't feel jipped.
