I am very reluctant to ever give bad reviews. I went to Cherry street hookah about a month ago. I brought my own tobacco because there selection was subpar. They charged me full price and up charged me a premium price. It took 30 minutes to get my hookah. The hookah was dirty, i could taste mint and licorice. My tobacco was Spice chi and Banana custard. I hate both mint and licorice. I told the waitress and she brought me a new hose and it still tasted of other tobacco! The waitress never came back to give fresh coals or ask if we needed anything. There were only two other guest in the place. I have been smoking and making hookah for years. This is a lace could be amazing if they had better customer service, better choice of tobacco and a better ambiance. BYOB is a great concept, but just know you can only bring liquor, no mixers are allowed, very odd. I went there twice and both times same issue. My tab was $35 for 1 hookah, no coal changes, with my own tobacco. To the owner; your place could be packed daily if you found the right servers and added some better tobacco choices to the menu. Fumari and Tangiers are way better tobacco than Starbuzz. True hookah lover will thank you and you will see regular customers. Also try having your employees do regular coal round every 10-15 minutes. Might want to try serving hot Tea as well. I lived in vegas 10 years and from California. This past Friday night, a friend suggested that we check out Macon's newest - and, in my opinion, first "real" - hookah lounge. I'd managed to miss the opening announcement in the Telegraph (http://www.macon.com/2012/08/16/2139986/hookah-lounge-opening-in-downtown.html), and had no idea that such an establishment was opening. I was thrilled at the prospect. I've been a long-time "hookah enthusiast" (if that's even a thing), ever since an introduction in college. Since my undergraduate days, I have spent many relaxing evenings in a multitude of hookah lounges, and have often lamented the lack of a proper lounge in my hometown. Sure, other options exist around Macon, but none with the atmosphere and quality that I was accustomed to. When I walked into Cherry Street Hookah, I felt as if I'd just walked into to one of my favorite west coast hookah bars. The decor and atmosphere (while a work-in-progress, according to the proprietors) is fantastic - not too loud, not too quiet, with a sleek modern-industrial feel quite conducive to a relaxing evening. The hookah experience is fantastic, with top of the line equipment, excellent shisha selection, and plenty of great options (try a fruit top) to enhance your experience. To top it off, the gentlemen who own Cherry St. Hookah are pleasant, engaging, and fun to hang out with. In just a few short days, Cherry Street Hookah has become my new go-to place for downtown nightlife when I'm just looking to relax and have a conversation with friends without the noise or smoke of the other downtown nightlife establishments (yes, it is a hookah bar, but they have a great filtration system and DO NOT ALLOW cigarette or cigar smoking - hookah only). My boyfriend and I are fans of hookah and though we've walked past this place several occasions, I always chose not to go in, until the other night and I'm so glad we did! We were there about 7 on a Sunday and there wasn't but another couple in the building and I was thinking to myself, how have they stayed open when no one is in here? I was wrong again. By 8, most all the sections were full. There are several flat screen TVs on the walls, comfy black leather couch seating and chairs, red walls and exposed brick, and an overall laid back environment. It was like walking into another world (no offense, but it is Macon.) The gentleman greeted us promptly at the door and gave us a menu with the shisha selection. They sell al-fakher and starbuzz. You get your own disposabe plastic tip for the hoses. We chose the house blend and it was delicious! Had a minty taste to it. Lasted about 2 hours on one bowl and the host was on top of changing our coals. He also showed us how to make bubbles ($2). I highly suggest doing it because it brings out the kid in you! They do not sell liquor or beer but have soft drinks, energy drinks ($4), and water ($2) for sell. I had brought in a drink from outside and they didn't have any problems with that. I also thought it was a nice touch when he brought out our drinks on a serving platter. Made me smile :) I read the reviews with people who were dissatisfied, and I'm willing to bet it was because they didn't read. On the back wall it has their pricing information plain as day and states on the menu that gratuity and tax are included. Pricing starts at $14 for two people on one hookah and then an additional $6 per additional person on the bowl. I suggest if you have more than 3 people, just go on and get another hookah. This was an excellent hookah spot with good prices and great service. Despite being a very low business day, the employee there was incredibly passionate about his work and was extremely attentive. I'm a bit of a hookah whiner, but I had nothing to whine about. The coals and ice were changed more frequently than I could complain about. Will go again, big fan. read more

Okie so let me start my review by saying they do not serve alcohol but encourage you to bring you own beer/alcohol boooo. Okie the service is average nothing mind blowing very slow but nice folks. So we wrap up the night and the waitress comes to our area with a iPhone attach to it is a small credit card device and I know it's 2013 but those thing make uncomfortable. Then starts calculating the bill on the iPhone calculator and I realize she added her own desired tip onto the bill. As I'm watching her calculator I never see her add .15% they also charged us 1$ for red solo cups of tap water and Ice. Oh and explain to me how my friend who bough 2 hookahs for 12 dollars n paid 6$ for extra person bill was 54 dollars? Yea right robbery and no detail receipt to explain the charges. This place is bad news I'd stay away and all 11 people who I rolled in there with will never return. This is a super cool place. They have comfy couches and lots of seating. The prices are super good. We paid $37 for premium tobacco (magic dragon) and it tastes delicious. We also got bubbles (super fun to blow smoke bubbles), an icy tube thing, and coconut coals which burn pretty good. Refills are only $6. We each got our own tip. The hookah is huge and hits really The bathrooms are decent too. They play rap most of the time; the music is loud enough to enjoy, but not over the top. They have some food choices (mozzarella sticks and wings) and beverages (nonalcoholic). They also have flat screens to watch while you smoke. It wasn't too busy when we came on a Thursday night. So I've been here about four times now. I really do like the place but it some respects it's not quite five stars. I love the seating, I love the actual hookah they have but the coffee and music is pretty bad. The music gets so loud I can't actually talk with my friends without shouting. This may be what some people like but I'd rather have a more chill environment. Other than that this place is great. I still strongly recommend. I'm a once a week customer of this establishment. So, I guess you can imagine that I am huge fan of this place. And I am. I just don't give out 5 star ratings very often. Let's go through all the things that matter at a hookah place: They use high quality coals and tobaccos. The tobacco is correctly packed with generous portions. The seating is generally pretty comfortable and conformable to any reasonably-sized group you wish to entertain here. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable and prompt. They bring out new coals on a regular basis. Just a tip, though. Arabic coffee is a completely different descriptor than coffee brewed with Arabica beans. "Arabic coffee" describes the process by which the coffee is brewed in the traditional Middle Eastern method which renders it a very heavy, very bitter experience. To those of us with advanced palates, it's a wonderful mixture of tastes and textures, but it is quite often not favored by those who drink "dessert coffees". So, just don't go in there with a completely ignorant mindset and complain about how the coffee tastes--you're getting EXACTLY what you ordered. Your palate just isn't conditioned to understand the complex subtleties of this coffee. read more

I actually downloaded an app and made a yelp account to write this review. Absolute WORST experience ever. Servers were rude for starters, and getting Sat took 10 minutes itself. Drinks were canned and expensive and two bucks a can!! ALL of the hookahs in the entire store had a one hose attachment only... no matter the amount of people using it (3)... We ordered the cheese sticks for 6 dollars and received six crappily made, blown out cheese sticks about 20 minutes later. When signing the check (before I even received my food, mind you) , it's highlighted to leave 20%.... normally I prefer to leave more than that... but c'mon... don't just expect and act so dreadful. read more

So I am a big hookah person and know it very well. I went on a weekend around 10 pm and get what I usually get, Mint hookah with coconut coals. I want to start off by saying that the hookah was perfect and tasted amazing. The hookah prices were great and the experience was wonderful. read more

Bad experience for a party of 11. Cover charges were not a problem, however adding to the bill a dollar for red cups, your own amount of gratuity, .99 cent frozen pizza costing 10.00 and served on cardboard ,old hookah that when advised tasted by 3 waiters then told its not bad after I told I traveled the world and always go to hookah bars cherry never taste like black licorice, hot coal dropped on our feet by the black male waiter according to the women checking us out with her iPhone, waiting 1 hour to be served completely, and dropped coal never being picked up off the floor. The decor is nice I love the exposed brick and the setting. I need more knowledge of hookah from the staff. Better service is by knowing your product and giving the patriot all information in the beginning so no hiding fees will be inquired at the end. I have own hookah at home from Germany, California , New York and Iraq so I will visit again once they have aged and have more knowledge of service and hookah read more
