Churchill's on Cherry is the definition of an elevated experience, tucked away in downtown Macon. When we first walked in downstairs, I honestly questioned if we had the right place. It felt understated, almost too quiet. Then we spotted the staircase, and those steps just kept going. Once we reached the top, all doubt disappeared. What awaited us was an elegant, thoughtfully curated cigar lounge that immediately impressed. I don't smoke cigars and typically avoid smoking establishments altogether because the smell lingers in my hair and clothes. To my surprise, Churchill's is extremely well ventilated. When we left, I didn't smell like I'd been in a cigar lounge at all, a huge win in my book. My husband is a bourbon lover and has been searching for a spot worthy of inviting "the fellas" when they're in town. I won't say his friends are pretentious, but they are gentlemen, and this is absolutely a place for men with class and prestige. Churchill's boasts a vast selection of premium liquor, easily the largest and most impressive bourbon and whiskey collection I've personally seen. The photos online truly don't do this place justice. The ambiance has a moody, blues-club vibe, upscale, sexy, and refined. I almost forgot I was in Macon. Smooth jazz instrumentals played in the background, setting the tone perfectly. Every detail was intentional, even down to the restroom, which was immaculate and elegant. Customer service was stellar. Genesis, our bartender, was jovial, attentive, and incredibly skilled. Despite the bar being filled to capacity, she made every guest feel like they had her undivided attention. One of the owners also made a point to greet each guest personally, welcoming us with warmth and genuine hospitality, a touch that never goes unnoticed. Since we had just come from dinner, we stuck to drinks. I ordered my favorite cocktail, a strawberry lemon drop martini, and it was made perfectly. My husband enjoyed an Old Fashioned that was equally well executed. No matter how premium your liquor selection is, it means nothing without quality ingredients and knowledgeable bartenders -- Churchill's has both. I can't wait to return so we can try the food. A few things to note: there is a 20% gratuity automatically added to each bill, which was well deserved in our experience. They are card-only, no cash accepted. And lastly, make sure you're sober enough to make it back down those stairs when you leave. Churchill's on Cherry is a gem for Macon. Classy, refined, and done right. I've been looking forward to visiting this establishment for a while and finally got to stop by for a puff with family. This is one of the nicest cigar lounges I've ever been to. Everything here is on a premium or luxury standard. The bar has a large selection of top shelf liquors (lots of Bourbon) and the food is top notch. We didn't come for dinner but we did order some drinks from the bar and some tasty appetizers. The lobster bisque, lobster bites and salmon bites were all delicious. I had a Woodford Old Fashion to drink with my cigar, it was perfect. Our server gave us the right amount of attention and definitely made our experience great. If you are ever in downtown Macon, Ga you should stop by and have a relaxing and luxury experience. read more

Ladies this one is for you! Churchills on Cherry is the epitome of upscale charm. The ambiance is sultry and sophisticated-think rich leather seating, dim lighting, and smooth jazz setting the mood. It's the kind of place that inspires you to elevate your style and energy. Be prepared to climb a few steps to get in, but trust me, it's worth every one. I visited on Ladies Night and had an amazing experience. The lemon drop martinis, crafted by Genesis, were hands down the best I've ever had-truly unforgettable. The small plates were equally impressive. I tried the salmon bites, sliders (not pictured), and meatballs, and the meatballs especially stood out. If you're in the area i definitely recommend checking out Churchills! I enjoyed the experience! The ambience is really nice, the decor, lighting and feel is an overall vibe! The outdoor patio is really nice also! I'm not a smoker so I can't advise you on the cigars outside of the fact that there is a charge if you bring your own cigar so it's seemingly better to purchase from them but a nice gentleman I met advised that this was normal with cigar lounges. Our server didn't seem to know the menu well and was not very attentive! We sat at the bar and the bartender was amazing he ensured we were taken care of! We didn't have much interaction with our server after she took our order. The food is made to order and we were advised that the chef was ready as he recently returned from vacation! I enjoyed the salmon it was flavorful, the rice and veggies were prepared well!!!! I tasted the salmon bites and because my friend didn't want it I used the remoulade sauce for my meal! Churchills has nice variety on the menu! I suggest you view the menu in advance because it may be a bit pricey for some and the automatic 20% gratuity caught a few off guard although it's on the bottom of the menu! I can't even begin to describe what a jewel this place is. My husband loves cigars. We're in from out of town so we google cigar lounges. This place shows up. We check it out. And we are BLOWN AWAY. Elegant, beautiful, relaxing...those words don't even touch it. They have a full bar with an epic selection of alcohol, a fantastic humidor, and the service is top notch. Usually when I visit a city/town I always search Yelp for all the cigar lounges in the area. Churchill popped up and looking at the pictures I was looking forward to stopping by. As a cigar smoker I was impressed with the vibe I felt when I walked I.aesthetically the lounge is warm and inviting, the bar has many options when it comes to your drink of choice. The staff was attentive but since it was me and one other person we were the only ones in the lounge so a lot of the staff was standing around on their phones. The food menu was impressive and the food was good. Now for my assessment on what I know and that's cigars. Once I saw the humidor I made my way to it. I judge all places that sell cigars based on how the humidor is. I was first surprised at how small the humidor is compared to the rest of the lounge. After seeing the bar I was expecting the humidor to reflect the same amount of options. To be honest I was expecting to see some high end cigars (Opus, Spectre by Cohiba etc.). They do carry Liga's No. 9 which is one of my normal go to's but was very disappointed when I felt the cigar for firmness and the cigar was hard. I checked a few more cigars and found them to be the same. This could have been a one off, but thankfully I had my portable humidor with me so I smoked one of my cigars and put the ones I bought away. Other then the prices (food and drink was a little high) overall a pleasant visit but will stop in one more time to check the cigars and add to my review. But I would most likely see what other lounges Macon has to offer cigar smokers. read more
