About myself: Play Riverfront anywhere from 4-5 times per month. Not a member but often play with…read moremembers. Pros: Riverfront is typically in good shape. For a course south of the Hampton Roads tunnels, Riverfront is usually a good bet that you will have decent tee box, good greens (with some exceptions), and clean fairways. Staff are generally friendly. Cons: Grounds crew is oblivious to the players. Typically find them with headphones on and unaware of their surroundings. Always have a problem with bunkers, bunkers are rarely raked and players don't do the course any favors by cleaning bunkers after use. Expect high load of divot marks on the greens. Normal to have to fix divot marks before a putt. If you are off the fairway, come to expect to have to hit off unmaintained areas (dirt, pine straw or debris). Maintenance ends at the fairway, rough is typically cut similar to fairway. If there is any rain the night before and you have an early tee time, expect no range as it is often closed. Unacceptable: The manager (Brian) is unfriendly and unloyal. How he maintains his job is not understood by members and players that know the staff. Example: Today I witnessed (why I decided to write a review) a twosome that went out for the first tee time (7 AM). Within the twosome were myself and a member of 5+ years that plays golf at Riverfront upwards of 4 times a week. We were provided awareness that a tournament would be going out at 8:30 and that it was starting on the back nine and stretched to hole 12. No additional direction was given. We reached hole 16 and ran into the tournament beginning play. Unfortunately, we folded in between the tournament groups and tee'd off on 16. We were met at our ball by a marshal. The marshal stated we needed to wait until the entire tournament went through before we picked up our play again....so other words wait 1.5-2 hrs for the entire tournament to go through. We let the marshal know that was unrealistic and that we would be able to fold into the group, finish our two holes and not hold anyone up. The marshal was favorable to that course of action, but the pro shop returned with an answer of we would shut down the cart until they leave. We finished 16 and then headed into the pro shop. Going into the pro shop the member requested a 9-hole rain check believing that was a good compromise to an unfortunate situation. He was offered by Brian, $5. Considering the long wait, we would have had to finish our round, the poor management of tee times (there was a twosome behind us) and the fact we were unable to finish our round that we paid for, we thought this was a good compromise. Brian disagreed to the point he ended up refunding the member over $800 for the remainder of his membership at the club. So, a long-term member, who spends over $500 a month additional at the course, and the upwards of $400 I spend at the course a month were not worth a nine-hole rain check due to an inconvenience on both the course and ourselves. In closing: I am sure this review will be met with the same professionalism and loyalty as presented today. Unfortunately, this professionalism is normal for management. If you want a decent course to play and have to stick south of the tunnel, no doubt Riverfront is worth the time. Do not expect you to be at the forefront of the management's concerns. Customers at Riverfront are not always right!

We had been looking forward to playing this course for weeks now. We get there and pay our money, 40$ a piece for 18 not bad.. The starter never said a word so we grabbed a cart and got our bags and headed to number 1. Approaching our tee time we headed towards the box, only to be stopped by a group of 4 saying "we are in a tournament" y'all can't play ahead of us. So we waited and waited for multiple groups in the "tournament" to go ahead of us. We finally flagged down I'm assuming the course manager for the day. And asked how many more groups are left in the tournament? He barked his reply, " y'all are not playing number 1, if y'all wanted to play y'all should not be on 1 go to 10" long story short being out there for 3 hours we only played 7 holes because they packed the course with tournament people and continuously over booked people knowing it would be slow. The attitude of the staff at the course was not welcoming and not appreciated. And ultimately it was a waste of money. I understand golf can be slow sometimes but usually everybody tries to keep the pace of play steady. It was just poor course management and they seemed to not care at all about the non tournament players that day. I will not be back for a long time, as I can go elsewhere and be treated with respect and have a better time.

Broad Bay is mainly known for it's beautiful golf course, but the pool with recent enhancements is just what they needed. BB does offer tennis too. Broad Bay Country Club is located off of Great Neck Rd. across from Cox H.S. It can get confusing finding the pool from the main entrance which is Stonehaven. Turn onto Lords Landing from Great Neck (may need to pull a u-turn if approaching from the North) and make a right at the wooden BB sign and drive up the hill. Parking is just past the pool and pretty plentiful even on swim meet days. The pool is six lanes 25 meters and is rectangular with no bump outs for diving etc . Deck space is limited. A wooden arbor area on the road side allows for limited seating and has a baby pool. Depth at the shallow end is approximately 3.5 ft and deep end 7 ft. A new large area opposite the road had a new slab put in to level a previous space off. It now boast a large canopy over the entire space and is used for events as well as seating for swim meets. It nicely done with hanging chandeliers and fire pit.. Also a new wooden structure was recently built outside the pool to post results and put up fliers of all sorts for the club. The pool sets on beautiful real estate right off the golf course. I have always found the grounds surrounding the pool to be well maintained. If you are a member of the club this is really a great space for a family to enjoy. I am not a member of this club, but from my four years of helping around this pool I would recommend checking them out for membership.

Didn't say why or if there was a last minute issue, just "he was told that, sorry" No call or note or anything to save us the commute.. luckily we ended up going to riverfront and they were able to get us in- I'd say if you're looking to play in Suffolk just hit up River front or Suffolk golf course. The club is very easy to locate, but it is way off the beaten path of Virginia Beach Blvd. Turn onto Little Neck Rd. and travel approximately five miles to the club on the right. There is great signage which will guide you in to their lot. Plenty of parking is available for members. However, on swim meet days, or events it is strained. Overflow has been at the church across the street. Behind the main house is a huge open air grass space for holding out events that could be tented. The pool complex is very nice. As you walk in you will see a guard shack on the left the main building on the right. The clubhouse has a kitchen, a large open air meeting space with fireplace and restrooms. It is nothing fancy whatsoever, but it's well maintained. Smaller type of indoor events could be held here. There is a nice large splash pool for kids in the middle that offers different depths and a mushroom sprinkler. Also included is a small tube curly slide that is a huge hit with the kids. The main pool is rectangular with no bump outs. There are two diving boards, a one meter and a meter and a half spring board. The pool is six lanes 25 meter guttered pool and it's a real beauty. The concrete deck space is massive allowing for very large swim meets to be comfortably held. Little Neck swims in the Dolphin Division of the Virginia Beach Swim Team and goes by the name "Blue Dolphins" They are consistently the largest swim team in the VBSL with over 225 swimmers. You must be a member of the club in order to swim on the team. LN is very good team that wins titles. The officiating crew led by Meet Referee Bill Gill does a great job preparing the pool for dual meets. This is my forth year assisting the team and I have found their volunteers to be accommodating to visitors. The club has always run a first class swim meet and most years host the final championship meet "All-Stars" of the season. Although I cannot vouch for the tennis portion of this club I can tell you the aquatics portion is really top notch and many of the members I know personally friendly. If interested in a tennis/pool club this is one of the nicer one you will find in Virginia Beach.

The reward zone was lacking some cool prizes so if you're looking to redeem something cool, you'll be severely disappointed. They have 4 food stalls and they had burgers, pizzas, nachos, sandwiches, boba, wings, etc. They even had adult beverages too! Prices were pretty standard. I was just excited that they had nachos :-) They also have a small jungle gym area - I think mainly for kids between the ages of 4 and 12 which was a nice touch. As far as the skating rink, it's not small by any means but it's not huge either. I was able to skate without having to dodge too many people. I am sure towards the evening hours it can get a bit crazy! I would love for them to take song requests which I think would be fun. Prices for the skate rentals was very affordable especially since it wasn't time constricted. Something was off about the vibe of this place for me - it almost seemed like it wasn't "popping" to me. Was missing the wow factor and I didn't feel excited? This is a cool place to check out if you don't have anything else to do. Looks like a good place to have a kids birthday party though.
