Came here for the second time for the "Zombie Thrill Ride" but it's sad to say that I think I'll take a hard pass on this next time. Last year, I came here the night before Halloween so the lines were incredibly long. Came here using a Groupon discount so I didn't mind it much. The large crowd was lively and so were the workers. The ride itself went by pretty fast but half way through the ride, my paintball gun jammed. Came here again this year for the Zombie thrill ride. This time my group and I decided to come here on a night where the lines weren't so long. We also used Groupon again so the price wasn't so bad. However, despite the short line ... the wait seemed to go on FOREVER. I think this was due to only having one "hayride" open. It was also a lot less lively and there was honestly no "thrill" to the ride and the ride itself only took about 10 minutes or so. On the plus side ... my gun did not jam but for the wait and money ... I don't think the zombie thrill ride was worth it. Gotta still check this place out during normal hours :)

Went paintballing today for the first time, had a blast! I went with 19 others from work. I will definitely be coming back...I am hooked!

We went here for a birthday party. Granted it was raining and cold...but the kids didn't care. I wish they had some sort of a fire pit for the winter days. It was about 10 kids in the party. All was going well HOWEVER, their masks kept fogging up...so in return instead of telling the children not to shoot if they couldn't see...a child inadvertently just starting shooting all around and my son got hit in the back of his head and neck, which caused a lot of pain. Now this was a party with 9-10 year olds so I understand how it could have happened. With that being said...if they have a party for younger children...I really think they should have full helmets to avoid injuries such as this one. I signed a waiver but I think just knowing the age group...better equipment should have been offered. Not to mention they forgot to get the cake for his friends birthday party but offered candy instead which the kids loved. Overall, it was ok and the kids had fun...but I really wouldn't recommend coming here if it's raining with children. And although they say they play rain or shine...one of the hosts said the reasons some of the kids guns were getting jammed and not working...was due to the rain . If you have children here that are younger than 11...I wouldn't recommend it unless they have full head gear. I won't be back.

OMG... there are not enough words to describe the experience at Ballahack. I suppose it should be…read moresaid that I do not have experience here on a week two week basis, dealing with their normal airsoft field and events. My experience is solely from my recent encounter at their rev omega event. The staff at check in and gun rental and check out for purchasing products as well as the floor. Staff assisting me in choosing proper eyewear, etc. were beyond friendly, amazing people, and so personable you could easily imagine having at length conversations with any one of them. The staff on the field, the People, ensuring that everyone is having a good time as well as following the rules, as well as ensuring that everybody is staying healthy were outstanding. Also personable. They were caring, kind, and interesting. They were interested as well. Sharing stories from previous events, sharing, anecdotes of Ofield actions, as well as things that have happened in the area. Fishing adventures on the pond. Everybody was amazing. The role players in this event, I do not know if they are employees, or if they are just friends of the event, but they were all truly amazing. Swamp sniper, the person most people come out to see, though I can't honestly say if that's true, but in my experience, we came in because of my sons longtime following of his YouTube channel, was awesome. He was so friendly, he was so eager to offer advice, he was super kind. When I made a mistake, he was just an all-around genuine guy. I can't say I can make it here yearly but we'll do our best.

The staff can only do so much to police things of course, but there are huge red flags that are just ignored by staff. Wouldn't ever bring my kids to here. I am a local, and have been playing on and off at this field since 2014, and you can tell along with the improvements, that it's gone downhill in other ways such as the details listed above.

Supposed to be a field paint only field, yet you are getting hit by paint brought in from Dicks Sporting Goods, or tournament paint by the local teams who apparently have a pass to circumvent the rules. Which if you shot the field paint you would understand. The field paint has to be the seconds or thirds from a Friday run, golf balls don't have this many dimples on it. Barrel breaks and curve balls galore, all while opposing teams shoot lasers at you, because they are apparently Gods children. If you are a walk on, beware the children of God will be gunning for you with all of their fancy equipment and fresh tournament paint Some of the fields are literally just piles of trash drug out of somebodies yard and arranged in a not so organized fashion to be bunkers. Some of the fields really pose a credible injury risk. The one half decent field they had was torn down. The management and staff, well some of them try. The manager there, he has tried to help, but quite obviously is paralyzed by piss poor ownership with his own agenda. Some of the other staffers try to help as well, while others have quite obviously given up and are there for either perks or the mediocre paycheck I am sure they receive. Don't even think about playing a scenario here. The owner stacks the odds by bringing his "professional" team out and arranging them all on one team to completely sweep the people that are there to have fun. The most fun of the scenarios are when it's over and you leave. The actual owner of this place is really in it to just further is personal agenda. He has no real intentions is furthering the sport or bringing in new faces. Back in the early 2000's when this place was under different ownership it was absolutely a blast to play here. Could never find parking because it was always packed. Now you are generally left waiting for people to show up to play against. Just save your money people, 15 minutes further the other direction are some great parks in southern Maryland and Northern Virginia if you want to experience real paintball

I have played fields all over the country and I found this one to be in the top 90%. I would have given the field 5 stars but there was constant issues with the air. If you used 3000, you were set. If you wanted 4500 you were out of luck for much of the time. The manager was fighting an uphill battle with so many players and tried everything he could. He did a great job and I felt he was embarrassed and sorry about the issues. The manager did a great job to keep all of the players happy and the refs were fair and focused on fair play and safety.

They have an awesome Groupon deal for $19 that includes: - All day paintball - standard rental gun (Tippmann 98) - goggles/facemask - unlimited air refills - 200 paintballs We had 14 people in our group and reserved play time from 10AM til 1PM one Saturday. Please arrive at least 30 mins before for the check in process (this is very lengthy). We didn't arrive until about 9.45AM and we did not get onto the field to play until about 10.40PM.. Since the staff was short handed that day and we started late, the owner? (older gentleman that seemed to be VERY chill, if you catch my drift) said he didn't care how long we stayed and told us not to worry about anything (and we didn't have to). Since we did have a reservation, that meant we had a referee for each game and were given first choice as to which field we wanted to play. The fields: we played on 5 different fields which were all very different and were designed for specific types of games. We had one field where there was a run down school bus, ice cream truck and over turned car and one large field (half the size of a football stadium) where there were towers/bridge in the middle along with trenches, which was super fun for capture the flag. We also played on this field where we had to storm a house that was nestled on top of a hill and there were four people in the house preventing people from approaching it. Myself, along with a couple of people on my team, had issues with our guns but we were able to get new ones; it was a little frustrating but I knew these type of problems happen. There are breaks in between in each game to rest and reload up on paintballs. This is a very fun paintball place an I would recommend it. It's a nice drive from Richmond, but not that far. SN: on weekends it can get very busy because they also share the same space with walk ons and people who play airsoft.
