The staff is amazing, and the Directors (Kathy and Maria) are friendly, approachable, helpful and just all around fantastic. Their hours are such a perk, 6:30 to 6! And the location, being on the corner of 139 and route 80, is super convenient. I don't have a worry in the world when I leave my daughter there in the mornings, that's a wonderful and priceless feeling.

Why we picked WCC - The HOURS! 7:30am-6:00pm! It was very difficult to find anyone open early and late enough for me to commute and handle traffic. Working 8-5 this availability is amazing. - The calendar - This center is only closed for major holidays and doesn't have any vacation weeks that you are still paying for. Cancellations or delays for inclement weather are also less than some centers (typically following the Woodbridge Town closings). - NAEYC Accreditation - Standards of this accreditation are strict and requires continual assessment. I wanted to know my child would be in a place that was implementing best practices and a process of continual quality assessment. - Rates and availability of part-time programming - Rates are competitive and the part-time programming I needed was available at the time of enrollment. - The environment - Our first visit felt comfortable and welcoming - and a bit old school. Why we stay at WCC - All of the reasons we enrolled continue to be relevant - Staff keep getting better and better! Each teacher offers a different skill set to complement the team and demonstrates how much they care about their work and my child every day. - Communication with teachers and the Director is excellent. Even at the end of the day, or during busy times, no one is ever "too busy" to discuss my child. The week's activities are always posted in the classroom so I can take a peek at what's coming up in the curriculum. - Enrichment programs - included in the daily curriculum are partnerships with the Woodbridge Library (next door), JumpBunch, and more. - Location - the playground and surrounding grounds offer a beautiful environment for outdoor play. The police station is adjacent to the center and their proximity gives me great peace of mind. - Parent Board - the Center was created by parents who work for other working parents and that hasn't changed. The Board is active, open to feedback, and ensures parents with children at the center always have a voice. We look forward to more years to come at WCC. I highly recommend anyone in Woodbridge or the surrounding towns look here if you are in need of a high quality early childhood program for your child(ren).

It was a truly magical experience. It was so magical, in fact, that I considered commuting to DC from New Haven so that I wouldn't have to take the kids out. The teachers are beyond wonderful, and deeply committed to fostering a love of learning through play. They also had the most epic healthy, home cooked food program. The kids play outside in all weather and really learn to embrace nature, and the teachers cater the programming to their curiosities and interests (we had a whole segment on bats :). All in all, this was a truly formative experience and we miss our Alphabet friends so much!

My daughter is only three years old. She did not hit the child or do anything to him, but for some reason, the mother became offended and approached my wife. On top of that, my wife is pregnant, and this woman threatened her, saying that something was going to happen to her if she did not control her daughter, and that because she was pregnant, something could happen to her as well. My wife felt unsafe and immediately went to the owner to explain what had happened. The owner basically said that he could not do anything. How can someone go to a children's establishment, be threatened by another customer, report it to the owner, and be told that nothing can be done? My wife was threatened with comments suggesting that something could happen to her and her pregnancy, and the owner did absolutely nothing about it. I do not recommend this place to anyone, especially families with young children.

I had always had a good experience with the staff, and I have always considered the owner to be a very respectful, polite, and professional person. Unfortunately, this most recent visit was completely different and honestly left me shocked, uncomfortable, and extremely concerned for my daughter's safety and my own. I brought my 3-year-old daughter, as I normally do. At one point, my daughter approached another child because she wanted to play and took a toy the child was holding. She is THREE YEARS OLD. Of course, I immediately stepped in and asked her to give the toy back. Children are children. These kinds of small situations happen all the time, and as a parent, I handled it immediately and appropriately. What I absolutely did NOT expect was the mother's reaction. She spoke to my 3-year-old daughter in an extremely rude and aggressive manner. I chose to ignore it because I did not want to create a scene or ruin anyone's day. But then it became MUCH more serious. The woman approached me directly and told me that I needed to "watch" my daughter because her son is autistic. I completely understand and respect that every child has different needs, and that was NEVER the issue. The issue was the way this woman chose to address my child and, more importantly, the threats she made toward me afterward. She told me that if anything happened involving her son again, I would "see what she was going to do to me." She then noticed that I am pregnant and made comments that made me feel personally threatened and extremely unsafe. At that point, I immediately went to the owner and explained exactly what had happened. I told him that I had been threatened and that I was prepared to call the police because I did not feel safe. The owner recommended that I leave and offered to refund my money, which I did not accept. I left because I had no intention of putting myself or my 3-year-old daughter in a potentially dangerous situation. And honestly, THIS is the part that bothers me the most: I was the person who ended up having to leave. I did not threaten anyone. I did not insult anyone. I did not physically confront anyone. I did not create a scene. I simply corrected my 3-year-old daughter and asked her to return a toy. Yet after being confronted and threatened by another adult, I was the one who had to remove myself and my child from the environment. I have been coming here for YEARS, so writing this review genuinely disappoints me. I never expected to have an experience like this at a place where I had previously felt comfortable bringing my child. I want to be very clear: this is not about the child being autistic. I have respect and compassion for children with special needs. This is about an adult choosing to aggressively confront a 3-year-old child and then making threatening statements toward her mother, who was visibly pregnant. A place where parents bring their children should be a place where families feel SAFE. No parent should have to worry about another adult threatening them or their child while simply trying to enjoy a normal outing. I sincerely hope management takes situations like this seriously because parents should never have to choose between staying somewhere they paid to enjoy and leaving because they are afraid for their own safety. After this experience, I personally would think twice before bringing my child back, because I can no longer say that I feel completely safe there. It is incredibly disappointing to go from having years of positive experiences to leaving a place feeling threatened and unsafe. Parents deserve better. Children deserve better. And no one should have to tolerate threats simply because they brought their child somewhere to play.

There were so many interactive and hands on play areas. They even had an animal exhibit. There is a water play, music, engineering, area (and more). They have a lot of Open Ended play and they offer some real cool opportunities to let your child explore their imagination. They have an Art room, a Animal exhibit room, a doctors office area that looks EXACTLY like a doctors office, an kitchen area built to look like a kitchen, a place to put on a play with stage lights and so much more. We loved the new changes so much we got a family season pass. This is not only the perfect place to bring kids on a weekend but a cool place for parties. They are a non-profit Childrens Museum but put ALOT of thought into making it more like an experience than anything else. Bring your kid (s) and you wont regret it. Just be aware though that parking is accessed from the street behind the museum so it might be confusing at first. Enjoy
