Amazing versatility of activities for all ages. Stroller friendly. Their water park is fun!

What's not to love, it's beautiful, free, and clean. The water park is perfect for parties, which we did last year for our 3 yr old. You do have to get there early and reserve a picnic table under the pavilion. The playground is great from the soft landing flooring to the different age zones. I just love this no cost option for the kiddos where everything is so expensive for nothing in comparison. Oh and the merry-go-round( for a minimal fee) and the beautiful wooded walking trail is a great addition too. read more

Loved this park and so did my kids. Lots of fun areas to play and explore. The trail was awesome and adding the musical instruments and scavenger hunt kept the kids entertained. The bathrooms were clean and great so we could wash our hand before leaving. Would definitely recommend. read more

Our fave place in the warmer months! Do not forget to bring water shoes. THEY WILL DENY ENTRY if your children do not have proper water shoes so keep that in mind. Bring a picnic lunch and eat the picnic tables by the trail and little theater stage area. Great place to bring visiting family for a free/fun time together! read more

Such a nice playground set up right next to the splash park and it has picnic tables all around the sides so you can sit and eat since I think you can't bring food into the splash park. The playground is actually split into different play areas for different age groups which is pretty awesome since my little guy is so young. I hate to see him get run over by the older kids. The ground is made up of that rubbery turf so I'm not too worried if he falls. The area for children 2 to 5 actually has a shaded cover over it which is pretty awesome especially since the sun can get to be a little too much for the younger kids. This will definitely become a place for us to frequent with my little one once he's old enough to utilize the equipment. read more

What a fun time for kids of all ages! I have been here multiple times with my daughter and she loves it! I brought my 8 month old here and she loved splashing in the water. Make sure to have good water shoes because I've seen adults slip and literally fall on their heads. The splash pad is right next to their outdoor playground and makes for a great break in the water fun. read more

This is a fully accessible elevated playground with lots of play value and learning opportunities. Very large area. Noisy at times but that is to be expected. Great year round. Next to an accessible water spray area, a townhouse, party pavilion and carousel. Lots more opening soon. read more

My 2 grandkids & I absolutely love this amazing gem of a playground/forest/splash park/picnic area/Merry-Go-Round. Yep, it's all that & more... There are even some cool musical instruments, an amphitheater, a treehouse & animal sculptures that are part of a fun scavenger hunt game built into the lovely forest/walking trail. How I wish I had discovered this treasure of a FREE playground right in my Lee District back when my grandson (who's now 8) was a toddler! Note: Make sure you remember to come equipped with water shoes for the little ones when you visit the water splash park in the summertime or they won't be allow in (for their own safety). read more

I have a 1 year old and 2 year old and they both loved it. I wish we found this place sooner. There is more than a playground! There is a merry go round, a paved walking trail, and a spray park. On the walking trail we played in puddles, saw a turtle, and enjoyed the birds. So many options here for the kids to explore and get outside! read more

This playground is newish and next to a splash park that is quite popular. You can even self reserve the gazebo areas for parties for free if you get there nearly enough, which is unheard of in this area. The playground is in the large Lee district park center area and is much nicer than the smaller kids area on the grounds (although that has a covering during the summer which is nice). The age range is older but you can definitely have the younger kids too if you are careful. Lots of big animal statue type things and a lighthouse and themed play areas so kids of all ages love it. read more

Lee District's new playground, tree house, and splash park are great fun for the kids! The playground is extensive and features areas for both older and younger children. Its base is made of a soft, springy rubber mat to keep kids safe. There is ample seating for adults as well. The splash park is fun for the entire family and has lots of water features to keep the kiddos entertained. It can be slippery, so it pays to listen when the lifeguards say not to run. Large grassy areas and a picnic pavilion adjacent to the splashpark and playground can be reserved for parties. An older (covered) playground, volleyball court, tennis court, and tennis practice walls are located in the same park. The courts have timed lights for after-dark play. Notes: Entrance to the splashpark is FREE! However, water shoes are required (they really do help keep you from slipping). The rec center front desk sells them for $10 a pair (although you might get a better price at CVS or Wal-Mart). read more

One of my favorite playgrounds in Virginia area for my 5 year old. They have restrooms available, a large walk through tree house that's cool and I think it's fairly safe. There is also a water park for smaller kids but it was closed. Definitely worth checking out. read more

While there's some construction going on at this location, the playground is not effected by it. Very well done and safe assortment of play gym for kids of various age groups. Besides having a Chesapeake Bay Monster (Chessie) there is also a pretty cool pirate themed boat that was a hit. The appropriate ages are labeled on the equipment. It was pretty cold out, we will definitely return in the spring! read more

Love the splash park and playground area! I take my 4 year old here weekly and she loves it. They splash area is a great way to cool off during the summer. And when my daughter has enough of the splash area, we go to the playground, its before the splash area. They sell Italian ice for $3 in between the splash park and playground. They have restrooms and family restrooms. The staff are very nice. read more

Great place to spend the day! Lots of shade, areas for activity, safe. Beautiful hikes that are set up for exploration and education!

I went to a children's birthday party here and it was great! The soft and flexible ground looked really safe for kids. The play ground had lots of fun and different activities for the kids. Lots of benches and area to relax there. Plenty of parking. My only complaint was that the bathrooms were closed because it's November. I'd like to see the water park part of the park during the summer as it looks like kids would have a blast there read more

Playgrounds for every age right next to each other, an amazing layout with tables, bathrooms, a water park, an amphitheater, an interactive nature trail, and a beautiful lookout overhang. We really enjoy Chessie's Park. The kids have a great time, although if you have little ones, they are hard to keep track of from below. Especially if you have two like I do. Luckily my older one is self-sufficient, but not my younger toddler. So be careful. Overall, there are plenty of parents around to be a second pair of eyes but you never know. read more
