I took my Schnauzer to Hartman for his entire life. At least 1x per year he'd get some sort of…read moregastrointestinal issue, usually a little blood in the stool. Almost a decade of charted issues and routine check ups. Somehow, his back tooth got bad enough that it got infected. Took him in on a Thursday and the vet prescribed him NSAIDs. Now, at this point, I have no idea. I'm not a vet. I trust the professionals. By Friday night he is puking up blood. Hartman closes at 5pm, this happened literally at 5:15 pm. So I hope for the best and plan on taking him in on Monday. He wound up having to go to the emergency vet because he started wailing in pain toward Sat night. Come to find out, NSAIDs are not good for gastrointestinal sensitive patients and is ultimately what caused his internal bleeding. Why was he prescribed NSAIDs with his charted history. A simple google search of "should you give NSAIDs to someone with GI issues" returns a resounding NO. Yet they did and my dog is no longer here because of it. My GFs dog, who grew up with my Schnauzer, was a long haired Daschund. After he was 10 years old, Hartman said over and over that his teeth were getting bad but at his advanced age, wasn't a good idea to be put under. Fast forward SEVEN years later of this being the same narrative when we would take him in and say "maybe we need to pull some teeth here". Nope, he's too old for that. Well, finally, his teeth abscessed and Hartman finally agreed to put him under and do some surgery. They cleaned his teeth and pulled a few and assured us he should be on the right path. Less than a month later we were back in their office because his mouth was worse. The infection was so bad it had eaten away some of his upper pallet and was rotting through the outside of the skin (see below EDIT: couldn't post due to it being graphic because his little face was THAT BAD). They FINALLY realized they fucked up and referred to us to Memphis to a vet that specializes in dental issues. They were appalled at his condition and could not believe that he had been under the care of a licensed Vet, much less Hartman who they take referrals from all the time. This vet is like a bad PCP. Cookie cutter diagnosis, always by the book even when the patient presents with obvious symptoms, nope, by the book. One dog died due to their negligence and my other dog suffered needlessly for YEARS with infected teeth because the book said it was risky to do a teeth cleaning on a dog that was 10. He lived until 17 AND HAD SURGERY AT HARTMAN at 17 years old. Had they taken his teeth more serious (and shame on me for "trusting" the professionals against my better judgement, a mistake I will not make again) my sweet little guy would have had a much better quality of life in his golden years. **I kept this all to myself for a few years until I realized they are paying to be promoted on Google as a top result. Please take your beloved animals anywhere else**

In my experience, there was a strong focus on the financial side of the business while employee well-being and morale seemed to be an afterthought. One of the most concerning aspects was the lack of professionalism. I frequently witnessed and endured management speaking negatively about employees to other employees, as well as showing confidential information on her computer, cell phone, and in person. which created an atmosphere of distrust and anxiety. Instead of fostering teamwork, it felt like people were constantly worried about becoming the next topic of conversation. The workload was excessive, expectations were unrealistic, and many employees were pushed to the point of burnout. During my time there, the practice lost nearly its entire staff within about a month. Rather than addressing the underlying issues, management appeared to simply "refresh" the staff with new hires. Unfortunately, I saw some of those new employees questioning whether they wanted to stay within their first week. Every workplace has challenges, but a high turnover rate and consistently low morale should be taken seriously. I hope leadership takes an honest look at the work environment and makes meaningful changes, because the employees and patients deserve better. The practice manager also frequently made demeaning and insulting comments about employees and former coworkers. I witnessed her ridicule a former doctor by mocking the way he excitedly flailed his arms after recognizing a mutual client his father knew. She then insinuated that his behavior meant he was autistic, using the term in a derogatory way. Regardless of the doctor's background or personality, mocking someone's mannerisms and using a developmental condition as the basis for a joke was unprofessional, disrespectful, and contributed to an unhealthy workplace culture. Another concern I had was the strong emphasis placed on recommending dental procedures. It often felt as though dentistry was viewed as the practice's primary source of revenue, and I frequently saw pet owners encouraged to schedule dental procedures that, in my opinion and based on what I observed, were not always clearly medically necessary. This created the impression that financial considerations were sometimes prioritized over individualized patient care, which made me uncomfortable as both an employee and an advocate for my patients.

When the results of the biopsy came back the Vet left a lengthy voice mail and told me the results had been emailed to me. Not sure why they did not just say please call me so we can discuss the results. Yesterday I took April for a follow up and stitch removal when the tech came to get her I said I needed to speak with the vet as well. Unfortunately I was told by two office staff members the vet was not there and one suggested I had not stated when I made the appointment that I wanted to speak to the vet. So basically their poor professionalism was my fault. I am transferring my dogs care and would recommend that you consider wisely as you choose a vet. I have learned my lesson.

The Dr was very knowledgeable and was able to give us several options to explore to correct the problem with our cat. We got an xray, anti-vommiting medicine, antibiotic shot and a warm water enema. Our cat seems to be in good spirits and back to her normal self. Glad to know we have a competent vet close to our house. We will use them in the future if needed.

These people did me right. My dog Charlie had heart failure and was dying and I had stayed up all…read morenight trying to comfort him. I was desperate the next morning calling every Vet I could find to help me and they all turned me down. I showed up about 7:30 in the morning at Pallone's Vet clinic in Rosebud and I waited for someone to show up that worked there. The Nice ladies there were walking up to go in to the building and I stopped them for help. I told them I did not have an appointment and I was desperate to put Charlie to sleep because he was suffering. They were so gracious to get me in first thing without an appointment and took care of Charlie. We did not euthanize Charlie but the Vet said we could try some medication to make him better and I agreed. At no fault of the Vet, Charlie was to far gone for any medication to work and he died later that day. I will remember the Good will and compassion they showed me and Charlie that day.
