Teff has much less calories, more fiber, gluten free, and what I believe will eventually be the next quinoa or chickpea superfood fad. And no, I'm not a hipster. Chickpeas & quinoa taste like sand to me. Teff is sour soft goodness! They have fair priced spices from fennel to cardamom to tumeric to koset to mimitas...hopefully I spelled everything right lol. There's a lot more I can't even translate. They only set you back $5 per pack. They also have some Ethiopian coffee stuff. It's a store with juice, ice cream, scratchers etc as well. Maybe I should have cancelled the new order after, but I didn't know. I feel like the photo worker could/should have done something. There's been certain products I've wanted to buy multiples of, but they didn't have enough in stock. It's annoying when I order things for pick up and need to meet the minimum, but they don't have enough items I want. It also took a while for them to restock. The customer service at the first store was fine, but they made a mistake with my order: I was given a 1.85 lb portion of Denny chicken and fried rice instead of the Boom Boom shrimp and fried rice I had originally wanted. Since I will not eat the chicken, I brought it to this location for an exchange. While processing the exchange, the manager at this deli served me less than a pound of Boom Boom shrimp and fried rice in return for the 1.85 lbs of food I had brought back. Because I was being significantly shorted on the weight, I politely asked for an extra scoop of fried rice--a simple request that other staff members have always been happy to accommodate in the past. What makes the situation even more absurd is that the deli throws all of this food away at 4:00 PM anyway. Yet, the manager refused my request, citing strict portion weights, and ultimately decided to deny me service altogether. It is incredibly frustrating and completely unacceptable for a Fortune 500 company like Safeway to deny a customer service over a small scoop of rice that was about to go in the trash, especially when I was just trying to get a previous mistake fully corrected. Shocked by his refusal to resolve the issue fairly, I took a photo to document the interaction. The manager then used the photo as an excuse to double down on refusing to help me. Since he was so determined to deny me service, I ultimately decided to let him--but insisted on receiving my full refund in quarters. If he had simply accommodated this minor request to make the exchange fair, I would have left a happy customer. Instead, he escalated the situation unnecessarily.
