8/19/23 Had to fuel up before our next Costco gas area (which is about 200 miles away)-This Chevron was convenient with 12 stalls of fuel stations. Today was $5.299/gal. Staff actually tote around a cart to fill up the buckets with soapy water-nice! He has the system down! Picked up water & snacks as well. The restrooms were decent, no paper towels, just the hot blowers-watch out for germ-harboring machines! Fairly, decently managed by McDonalds. The outdoor restrooms are managed by Chevron-those I'm not sure what the conditions are. Staff at the register, she's efficient, not friendly, not rude, just blah. The market/convenient store at Chevron looked more popular than the market across from them. Nice pit stop, although, the longest wait was at the women's restroom...par for the course, only 2 out of the 3 stalls we're working. read more

This was the first gas in 25+miles so I figured it would be a rip-off (which it was) but it was still cheaper than the next station 5-miles, or so, down the road. DO NOT USE THE RESTROOMS HERE! Restrooms were gross. There was blood on the floor of the men's restroom as well as piss. You could tell that the blood has been there for sometime as it's been walked on and smeared everywhere. The woman's restroom was disgusting according to my wife saying that woman left bloody tampons on the floor. The staff here definitely didn't care to clean any of it up. Which I do understand to a point it's someone else's blood but try to make an effort to clean it up. We definitely won't be stopping here again because of this. read more

This is a good stop when traveling from Southern California up to Norcal. The restrooms are fairly clean and the people working there are helpful and nice. This is not always the case at the travel stops along the 5 freeway in California. While they don't seem to have a lot of refrigerated food choices, they do have basics like hummus and prepackaged sandwiches. And the gas pumps are pretty clean for a gas station and they seem to work correctly every time I've stopped at this gas station. If you need to get gas, use the restroom and grab A quick bite to eat, I would recommend this stop! read more

Restrooms are not the best they do Have 3 women's stalls but no soap or toilet seat covers. Gas prices are higher than other stations we saw along the road but they know they will het us to pay for it if you need it. A typical off the freeway gas station that offers convenience and takes advantage of that fact by charging commuters higher gas prices. We began the first day of our road trip vacation by having to stop for gas, purchasing snacks, and utilizing the facilities. Several businesses share the same area along with a few other competitive stations such as 76 which happened to be a few cents cheaper. There is plenty of space and pumps to accommodate travelers, so waiting was not an issue. This Chevron has the Extra Mile Mart on one side and a McDonald's on the other. The rest rooms were clean and a nice relief to us all. Nearby, is an Apricot Tree Restaurant and even a little store that sold fruits and nuts. We didn't have time to visit any of these other places, but all in all, stopping here was not a bad experience and might have been a fun place to explore further if we weren't in a hurry to continue our long drive ahead.... read more

I've never written a review about a gas station before, but my recent visit to this Chevron / Extra Mile / McDonald's warrants a review. I was road-tripping with my family through California, and we stopped here to use the restrooms and pick up some snacks for the car ride. The women's restroom was stocked with toilet seat covers, toilet paper, and hand soap. And the kids all found snacks they liked in the convenience store. My aunt had a medical emergency while using the restroom. Extra Mile employee Angelica called 911 and stayed with us to ask if we needed anything while waiting for the ambulance to arrive. She was calm and level-headed, and was of great assistance at a very stressful time. So thank you very much, Angelica, for helping us out! Your kindness will never be forgotten. read more

WORST BATHROOM EVER. I will also be rating the McDonald's that's attached with the same review. Doors were locked with no sign. You had to go through the McDonald's. A deer trail of blockades leads you to the only accessible bathroom: the mens room. A little odd but when you have to go, you make do with open urinals and a single stall and hope for the best. Open the stall and be welcomed by a full bowl of piss, filled to to rim and overflowing. Suffice to say, I touched as little as possible and feel like bathing in sanitizer after that biohazard. This place totally monopolizes on being stuck in the middle of butt f*ck no where. After speeding through Coalinga on the way back from L.A. (because nobody in their right mind wants to stop in a town that smells like poo), I felt bad that I hadn't stopped once since we left L.A. and we were at a 1/4 of a tank. But $3.53 for REGULAR gas? shoot man I was so kicking myself after we passed Patterson and it was $2.83 over there! I love me some Chevron gas! This chevron is located off the freeway headed near the 580w. Tons of pumps but seems to be the busy "rest area". There is a Shell gas station across the street but who needs that when they can have Chevron with Techron? There is a McDonald's and Mobil near the Chevron as well which I think is SO convenient when taking a road trip and in need of food! I learned from doing my first road trip that whenever there is a gas station that is in the middle of no where,..be prepared for the prices to be high! Man oh man! There is an Extra Mile convenience store and a McDonalds all in one building with the gas station. There is a good beverage selection including 4four different flavors of Naked smoothies and a variety of juices. The soda fountain in the Extra Mile store has four different diet soda options including Diet Coke, Diet Dr. Pepper, Diet Mountain Dew, and Coke Zero. The drinks in the McDonalds are all $1 no matter what the size. They are cheaper than in the convenience store but the only diet soda option is Diet Coke, so you get what you pay for. I bought a Rockstar sparkling Energy peach soda which kept me awake the rest of the ride home. There are also four flavors of icee. Yes, I was quite thirsty on this stop, can you tell? There is a all point ATM if you need cash. The restrooms are outside, and there is a shady grassy area with picnic tables just South of the restrooms. Ok, well if you're here on the day before thanksgiving or something (as I have been) and the line for the bathroom is ten deep for hours on end, what are you going to do? Expensive gas? Well, it is a Chevron, and its in the middle of nowhere. And there are like three other gas stations right around it, so they keep each other somewhat honest. But if one of them has cheaper gas, you can go there. This is my standard pit stop for driving between the Southland and Sacramento (Grandma) or South Lake Tahoe (Parents). I like Chevron gas, they have all of the snacks and drinks you could want, plus a McDonalds if you go in for those kind of shenanigans. Also, there are some seperate bathrooms that are detached from the building out in the parking lot, much shorter line there then for the ones inside if you are passing through here during the busy times. read more

I'm also employed at Chevron Extra Mile ( in another location) . Attended a funeral out of state, long trip home , stopped here for topping off tank for last two hours home. Area at pumps dirty, trash all over, lots of oil stains. Cashier not friendly, I asked for a bag and she pushed the bag at me so I could do it myself. Not busy and no partition so no excuse for poor customer service. I tip $$$ everywhere I go so she missed out and If she hates her job then she needs to quit. Restrooms dirty and trash full . I bailed Interstate 5 and was going to do Highway 99 - so I came to Firebaugh. I like to drive through Firebaugh because it is one place in California where one can wonder if they have finally found "the end of the earth". Did you know that steam boat paddle wheels use to go up the San Joaquin River to Firebaugh from Sacramento? Well, they did and it is one of those bits of information that is as astonishing as finding Grizzly Bears in Napa... but those things happened when California was a toddler in American history. Yes, tons of pumps fueling up car loads of travelers with worried and lost looks on their faces giving doubtful glances at this place called "Firebaugh". When I was a kid, Firebaugh was the end of the earth for me. I could not dream of being more remote and lost than living in Firebaugh. I still feel that way when I go there. Have you had a poison oak rash and wondered about that the discomfort being enjoyable because of the pleasure of scratching? Firebaugh is kind of like that. Valley fog drove me back to Interstate five. I had forgotten about that depressing cold-to-the-bone fog that hangs in the valley. Cars having head-on crashes in thick so fog thick all sound is instantly absorbed. Glad I came to Firebaugh so I could remind myself why I don't live in the valley any more. read more

I'm right there with Dietrich S. -- the place is at least on-par with any other gas station on the worst of days, but more often than not, I've been able to tend to the bio-break and/or food/snack break without too much hassle or disgust. This most recent visit - and there's been dozens amongst the trekking from the Bay Area to SoCal / Disneyland over the year - is no exception, even if the restroom line was six deep (and that was just for the mens). Heck, not even a bus in sight. But the clerks remained calm, helpful and polite, and one employee was keeping the restrooms tended to, so no harm there. Prices are in line with where you are (75+ miles from the last traces of the Bay Area/Tracy, and another 40 or more before the cluster of services at Highway 41), so like it or lump it. Or go to the deserted Taco Bell across the street and roll the dice there. read more

The woman working here tonight at 2:30 am put up a closed sign while us and several other customers tried to come in to buy food, etc. She was in there while we all waited outside for quite a while and didn't let anyone in. We were on a late drive back in to town and this was the only place open. Put us behind schedule a bit, online it said it was open. Frustrating. Not sure if there was a good reason closing for a period of time out of the blue like that while customers were trying to come inside to purchase. Pass forward a week later the Chevron corporate confirmed to me that it was indeed a $20 bill, after they reviewed the camera, that I had handed to cashier and NOT a $5 bill. The Chevron corporate said that the store manager will contact me to give me the money back and give me a gift card for my inconvient but I have NOT heard from the manager. The whole point to this review is that I want everyone to be careful with this place. They are very rude and cheat u of ur money.
