Just a little irritated. I use the Terrible reward T+ and went in to cash in my Free Modelo, Red Bull, and Monster Drink. No one knows how to use the redeem rewards to scan the merchandise. Also they couldn't enter my T+ number to get rewards loaded to my app after purchase. Now I have 3 items set to expire on 2/14. This is not the 1st or 2nd time this has happened. Chevron... train your people if your going to advertise T+ rewards. I've lost out on at least $25 worth of drinks Ive earned. THE LAST NAME BRAND FUEL STATION ON EASTBOUND LAKE MEAD PARKWAY North Shore Drive and Lake Shore Drive are the country roads that take me to the place where I belong: The Lake Mead National Recreation Area. To enjoy the country roads and hiking trails of the Lake Mead National Recreation Area, I need to be supplied with both car and human fuel. Lately I have been fueling up at the Terrible's Chevron off of Lake Mead Parkway at Pawnee Lane. If anything I strive to emphasize in this review, it is that as of April 30, 2015 ; this is the LAST name brand fuel station on eastbound Lake Mead Parkway before Lake Las Vegas and the Lake Mead National Recreation Area. This is really the Last Chance Gas Stop. This Terrible's Chevron is not terrible. It features three fuel islands with decent room for cars to maneuver. The only thing is that many of the cars fueling up here are towing boats. This leads into the fact that this is a Chevron that is popular with the Lake Mead boating community. I usually see boat owners in the convenience store buying fuel for their boats or fuel in the form of beer for a good time on Lake Mead. The convenience store is a grand size shop that offers the conveniences of an ATM, snacks, hydration, and necessary commodities. Before my adventures out on the country roads and trails of Lake Mead, I stock up on hydration. I usually purchase two 32-ounce bottles of Power Ade Zero with a 44 ounce Coke fountain beverage. The Freestyle Coke machine offers over 100 varieties of Coke beverages. I fill my cup with Glaceau Fruitwater. I have come to the conclusion that this is the perfect beverage to start off an adventure. When I first pour it into the cup until several minutes later, it is a refreshing berry tasting sparkling beverage. As it warms up in the sun, it changes into a warm Crystal Light tasting beverage. When I fill up here in the Spring of 2015, my eyes glance at a landscape in transition. Currently I could see across the Valley to the Strip. This is changing as bulldozers turn this desert into the Cadence Master Planned Community. When my eyes look at the edge of the property, they see the Lake Mead Parkway Trail which in effect also makes this Chevron a bicyclist and pedestrian stop. Generally speaking I rate this Chevron three stars. However, if you are headed into the Lake Mead National Recreation Area nearing empty on car and people fuel, you'll most likely rate a stop at the last name brand fuel station on Lake Mead Parkway before the Lake Mead National Recreation Area and Lake Las Vegas five stars. read more

DRIVER BEWARE: I frequently feel up at this location. Several times in the past I have noticed while watching the tank fill up that the numbers will randomly jump up, an increase of $.10-$.15. Today when I went to fill up, as soon as I swiped my card it started ticking the numbers by, as if I had already begun pumping the gas. I went inside to ask the woman to cancel the transaction and she told me I had to cancel at the pump. I go back out to the pump and it won't allow me to cancel the transaction because it's already ticked off $.12. So I requested it print the receipt and go back into the store because it won't print at the pump. Explain to the lady I have not even begun pumping gas and it's already charging, she tells me no it's canceled and I said I would like a copy of the receipt which Shows it was canceled because this is not the first time that this has happened, she prints it up & there was $.12 charged to my card. Exasperated, she goes in the back and gets the manager and the manager comes out and makes a big fuss and announces to everyone as she hands me my $.12, "here's your twelve cents." If it charges an extra $.12 in under three minutes on a pump that has not even been turned on, imagine how much every transaction is being overcharged on a full tank of gas. That's potentially 1 to 5 dollars per person who fills up at the station for gas that is already overpriced. read more

Gratuitous review to get an FTR... FTW! Yes, I need an intervention. I stopped by this gas station on the way to the Lake Las Vegas CMYE last month. My car was badly in need of gas (which is why one usually stops at a gas station), and horrendously in need of a car wash (due to my insane solo trip through 50+ miles of dirt gravel road out at Death Valley). In a city that can push the limits of garish design, Terrible Herbst's gas stations stand out. From the early 80's styling and font choices of their signage to limited parking this particular location is one that could use a renovation. Getting in and out of the station while pulling a trailer or boat can be kind of tight. And while they have two doors for the C-store, the one on the South side away from the gas pumps with open parking spaces tends to be locked. You end up having to walk to the other door which can be a pain on windy days. This location does have a Coke Freestyle machine....and that is the main reason I stop here. The automated car wash...while functional, is not easy to get into, and the equipment looks a bit dated. It does the job but if I want a car wash I'll drive a half mile down Lake Mead to another Terrible's location with more modern equipment installed. If my son is in the car he freaks out at this car wash while the other one down the street doesn't bother him at all. 3 Stars. Stopped off here to top off my tank when I first moved to the Las Vegas area a few weeks ago. The gas was only a few cents more than the prices of other gas stations I saw that day so I decided it wasn't worth it for me to go to another station since this one is really close to my house. (Yeah, that is a run on sentence...so!) I only pumped a full tank and everything worked as it should have so no complaints. I got what I expected. read more

This chevron is not at fault but the new one at 780 E. Horizon Dr property. This place has been open for maybe 2 months now or 3. Well I have been in there at least 8 times now. There is no pricing on anything so when I ask what the price is for something they get mad at me. I have seen 8 different people since I have gone in this place. Every single person I have conversed with in this location had been rude with an attitude. I was really happy to have a chevron open right around the corner from where I live. I purchased gas at this station. it was uneventful, put my card into the pump. put $17.77 of gas in, my receipt said $17.77 and I left. no one else was getting gas at the time. I got home and see that this gas station sent two charges to my bank, one for the correct amoun of $17.77 and another Incorrectly for $119.49 -- the first thing i did was call my bank. they stated they obviously could not tell if the wrong pending charge for $119.49 would go thru or fall off in a a few days and that If Chevron (Terribles Herbst) called or faxed the bank with a request to remove the incorrect charge they would release that immediately. i called the gas station directly and got the manager. when i explained what happened she said, "so, why are you calling me? I didnt do it". I said you know i am a paying customer and you could at the very least act like you care and give me some decent customer service, like be nice and cordial, offer me a phone number to call. she just got more rude. I then called the Chevron home office and they hung up on me when i said i thought she was misunderstanding what actually has happened. read more
