I rarely rate gas stations but need to here. Hubby filled up the tank and I used the restroom. I have never seen more SPOTLESS a publicly used restroom at a gas station in my entire life. There's nothing scarier than a dirty public restroom - ladies you know what I mean. The store too is VERY nice - lots of cute Arizona souvenirs. When driving from Vegas to Phoenix, this is my first stop for a bathroom/snack break. The bathrooms are open to the public and relatively clean. Yesterday, half way from Las Vegas to Phoenix, I pulled in to a gas station with less than a quarter of tank, only to find that I didn't have my wallet. In the middle of the dessert, nobody accepts apple pay and the gas station wouldn't accept a credit card over the phone. Not only did the gas station give me $20 of free gas to get home, but they offered me water and food on them...and then, while trying to figure out my plan, I heard a knock on the car window. A woman I'd never met, reached out with $13 cash...saying that the woman in the station told her what happened and she wanted to make sure I had cash for an emergency. I am floored by their kindness. I was moved to tears by their unquestioning support and generosity. Please help me to make them feel the gratitude and faith that they gave me yesterday. (I was the slightly panicked, curly haired brunette driving a white Mitsubishi Mirage). And if you're ever in Kingman, stop by and support their business. read more

Stopped by here twice in one day since we were driving from Vegas to the Grand Canyon and needed a pit stop and some snacks and drinks. On our first stop there early in the morning, the cashier asked if we were headed to the Grand Canyon and after we said yes, he gave us a coupon for the iMax theater there (for a movie about the Grand Canyon), but we ended up not watching the movie. The women's bathroom was surprisingly clean and didn't smell bad, so I was happy about that. The prices for their items were pretty cheap (but I'm comparing to Hawaii prices). The employees were nice both times we stopped there and I really liked that the first time wasn't a fluke! read more

I would advise you to create a training program on working with customers who are people of color for your employees. I came in a few days ago after filling up my tank to use the restroom. When I came out, I looked around at the snacks and realized I left my wallet in the car so I walked back to my vehicle. While walking back I felt someone watching me so I turned around and saw a young woman (employee) watching me, standing from behind the sliding doors. When I walked back inside, I went to the drink area to see if there was a certain Yerba Mate I liked which there wasn't, so I looked at any other beverages I might like to bring with me on my camping trip as well. Again, I felt someone watching me and when I turned around, there again was the same exact employee pretending to sweep all of the sudden right behind me. I talked to her once I paid for the items to assure her that no, I can afford to pay for a bag of chips. She's one of your new hires from Michigan. I'm not big on writing reviews as you can tell, but it was pretty blatant as to what was going on. As a POC I experience this quite often but never to the point of someone even going up to the door to watch me walk out. Hope you can have a good conversation to not let this happen again. read more
