This is a cool quirky little place that we stopped at ! I bought this cute handmade backpack The guy running the place was very nice and helpful ! Thanks !!!!

    Homemade carrot cake!

Homemade carrot cake was the BEST! I also had homemade chicken salad and the kids stocked up on road snacks of moonpie, combos and whoppers. This is a great spot to stop! Clean, friendly and good food! Allow time to shop the jewelry counter made by local Navajo people.

I ask "who makes the food" and Larry said he bakes the pie and the carrot cake from scratch.

Founded by Lebanese immigrants, Bashas' now boasts a family of over 150 grocery stores and specialty markets in Arizona, New Mexico, and on the Navajo Nation. As a Southern Nevada resident, this Kingman location was the closest to me, so I bookmarked it and finally visited earlier today. Here are some highlights: CUSTOMER SERVICE: I was greeted warmly by multiple store employees, and the overall customer service was impressive. AMBIANCE: The store was clean, easy to navigate, and unfussy. Upon arrival, I beelined to the produce, deli, bakery, and specialty items section. The bakery was bustling with activity, and I later discovered through the Phoenix subreddit that Bashas' is renowned for its baked goods. FOOD SELECTION: My primary focus was on Bashas' unique snacks and store brand items. I was particularly surprised to find muscadine jelly, a staple from my childhood in the Southeast. Additionally, I noticed several Bashas' store brand items on sale or at very reasonable prices, such as honey roasted peanuts priced at two for $5. I bought a few to assess their quality and determine if I'll be a repeat customer.

I was starving and out of options, I had to go here. There was one guy working, and a line about 12 people deep. He had stepped away for a five minute break and came back totally overwhelmed. The menu sounded good, and I was excited to get pizza. "We are out of pizza." I wanted soup: "we are out of soup." Basically ANYTHING that was hot and had to be cooked they were mysteriously "out of." Okay, fine. I asked what they DID have, and he said "sandwiches and chips." I got the roast beef sandwich and grabbed a seat and waited. And waited. And waited. Poor guy was working all alone. I watched as he made sandwich after sandwich, touching so many gross surfaces and food / handling money with the same gloves on. Yuck. I finally got my sandwich, which was ridiculously overpriced and very, very low quality. The bread was stale and crumbly, and the roast beef was almost all fat. Nasty. I'd rather just bring my own cooler with my own homemade sandwich in it that be subjected to the Golden Nugget deli again. Yuck.

I made an online order for a pickup and use my gift card, my brother-in-law who was in town was going to pick up our sandwiches. For some reason when I put the order through the it asked if I wanted to sign up for their club and get a free 1st time sandwich and receive point. I did, and that's when everything went down hill. I couldn't find the order that I paid with the gift card and showed I never placed an order. I called the store and immediately Tracey checked for my order and let me know they had not received it, however he was concerned about the card being charged, asked if he could speak with his manager and get right back to me. My brother in law showed up at JJ's right after I got off my call with Tracey, and told me that Cassidy the manager immediately apologized for the confusion and any inconvenience we had with trying to order and made sure he left happy. He told me they were very attentive apologetic and most importantly professional! It is wonderful to know that there are still people out there that take pride in their jobs and know EXACTLY how to treat customers. Thank you again Cassidy, Tracey & Isaac for taking care of our issue with absolutely no attitude and incredible professionalism! WE WILL BE BACK SOON!

The good: seafood Alfredo had good flavor, plenty of shrimp and clams. Linguine noodles were cooked good. Garlic bread with marinara sauce was good. Calzone was really big. All serving sizes were LARGE. Every dish was served piping hot. Service was a little slow. I don't think the server was experienced. The place looked generally clean. It's a small family restaurant that has been in business for a long time. I don't think they are five star worth but definitely better than three so I'm going to rate it at 4 stars.

The first problem, the waitress was not very attentive, when she took our order, she forgot to bring our drinks, so we had to remind her when she brought our food. The second problem, the food was terrible. Mother ordered lasagna, I got the Alfredo. Her lasagna tasted terrible, like someone had mixed barbecue sauce into the marinara. My Alfredo's sauce was way too oily, due most likely due to having too much butter. Third problem, drinks. The water tasted like it came from the tap, mother's water did not have any ice, and her Raspberry Tea was warm. Fourth problem, the cook was more focused on the ball game than actually cooking food. Fifth problem, the menus are not up to date, mother wanted Diet Dr Pepper as it said in the menu but the waitress said they didn't have that anymore.
