On the other side of that wall is another seating area for those, who want to sit and eat. Some wall sockets available there also. They do have a deli area, with some ready items. There are also screens in front of the cooking area, where you can place your order, pay and wait for your call, when done. The parking lot was not too bad. A good place to park for the night. Not congested.

This is a convenient place to stop for a truck driver, there are about 15-20 truck parking spaces…read more The store is clean and well stocked, the lounge area is VERY comfortable with about 15-20 individual reclining armchairs. If I had the ability to rate the store and restaurant separately, the store would get a higher rating, probably 5 stars. However, the restaurant brought it down. I ordered the 290 Plaza Breakfast Plate which is supposed to be one each of bacon, sausage, and egg, plus a slice of toast and fries. The sausage is basically a hot dog and the egg was overcooked (I ordered over-medium and it was rock-hard). The fries were instead a McDonald's style hash brown patty. In addition, they tried to overcharge me. The menu showed a price of $3.99 and they tried to charge $4.99. When I pointed out the error they told me that the menu was wrong. They were reluctant to honor the posted price until I said I didn't want it anymore. At that point they finally changed it to the posted price. Many people might say "it's a truck stop, what do you expect?" I have been to truck stops all over the country and many of them have great service and great quality...that's what I expect. I will definitely stop here for drink refills and snack purchases, but won't be using the restaurant anymore.

I've driven through Giddings on a few occasions and I always stop at this Conoco for gas. It's…read morevery simple: they always have the best priced gas in town. In fact, their prices are usually lower than any city along this stretch of road from Austin and Brenham - - and that includes the entire city of Austin. I'm specifically talking about 87 Octane, not the premium gas. During this time frame the lowest price (for 87 Octane) in Austin was in the $3.63-$3.65+ per gallon range. Other places in Giddings rangeed from $3.65 to 3.72+ a gallon, but these guys were at $3.59. YEEEE HAW!! And there's none of that gimmicky "get a gas discount if you spend 5 bucks at our store" bologna where you end up overpaying for their items while underpaying for gas - - which balances it all out. But for an 18 gallon tank I'm saving about $1.10 or more per fill - - and that's a nice cold drink on a hot Texas day. It may sound like peanuts, but the way I look at it is there's no justification to overpay from something when I can get the same thing w/ the same quality and same performance at a cheaper price. I fill my tank 3x a week, that's 12x a month. So over the course of a year we're talking almost $160 saved, and that's a lot of peanuts. Now I don't suggest you frugal-ones commute all the way to Giddings (from Austin) just to fill your tank to save a few bucks, cuz by the time you get home you'll probably have to go back again very soon (if you have bad gas mileage) and refill it. That could put you into a vicious cycle, like that movie "Memento". Just ask Guy Pierce (actually - you can't - he probably won't remember). As you know nothing is perfect, so a couple of other items to mention: - it's always quite busy with a queue of cars and trucks and trailers waiting - the squeegee windshield cleaning fluid is dirty and unsanitary. It's just water that's probably not changed out, so it smells rotten. Windshields and windows don't have any feelings, and they aren't rated on smell, but still - - it's a bit on the nasty side. Maybe I'm asking for too much, but regardless, the consistently good gas price keeps this place at 4-stars. YEEEE HAW!! Way to go Giddings!

Window squeegee water is brackish . Gas nozzles are worn down and barely work, and sometimes don't stop pumping for safety reasons I rarely go here only if desperate.
