Today, employee proceeded to try and fight me. came out to the pump and shouldered me. The day before I had an incident where he could not manage to help me, so I left without gas. This Chevron station just off of North MLK is in a good location to fuel up anytime you're low on gas. Just down the street or a few blocks away from several apartment complexes and residential neighborhoods, it's easy to stop by anytime of day. Unfortunately, the gas here is tragically overpriced, sometimes over a dollar more per gallon than some other gas stations. There are also the occasion sketchy people that may approach you and ask you for money, although that's much of North Portland in general. It's a decent place to fuel up if you're almost out of gas, but otherwise there are better locations. read more

The worst gas station. Even with no cars, it takes ten minutes to get an attendant. I'm not sure what scam they're running, but BOTH times I've come, they've taken my card at the pump, and then asked for more money claiming my card didn't work, even though both times authorization went through and gas was pumping. The first time, he made me still go inside to pay. They tried charging me three more times inside in addition to my already paying outside. The second time, I asked for $30, and the attendant stopped pumping at $20 even though it was still pumping claiming my tank was full. He refused to pump my gas, and walked away. My tank was half full. He wouldn't pump anymore gas unless I let him charge me again even though I paid for $30 already. Oh and I was sexually harassed. Rarely, must I fault someone for trusting me too much. But there comes a time for everything, yes? I roll into Chevron ready to buy me some fuel and perhaps a diet coke beverage, and I get out of the car and tell the kid at the pump what I want and that I'm going to pay inside. Please note- I drive a killer wagon that I like very much but I have messy tendencies and I have whole heap of crap in both my back seat and the trunk section (ask any of my friends; don't depend on a ride from me, I have too much stuff in my car) Like, enough to make me look kind of like a hobo who's been living in her car for a year...you know shoe boxes, a gas can, some crutches, a handful of hooded sweatshirts, a fishing pole, an old boot, empty sardine cans...what I'm getting at is that I'm not like, driving a Lexus here; you know nothing of my bank account. SO, as I dilly-dally (ran through an alley) in the mart the kid comes back inside and I go to pay the cashier. Alas and alack, I don't have my debit card. It's in my coat pocket at home! And I don't have any cash. So I say "oh nuts, nevermind" and start to leave and the kid's like "I already put gas in the car." Huh. Well I wish you hadn't. I realize I asked him to, but in my experiences, one pays for their gas first because of the obvious ability to get away quickly if you're trying to steal it. Right? So the two dudes just stare at me blankly. I clearly have no way of paying them at this exact moment, so what, you're the manager here, tell me what to do. Do I need to go wash dishes in the back? Fuel some customers? Have a carwash? What? He eventually asks me where I live and can I leave my license and go home and get money. I don't really want to drive across town w/o my license...am I being crazy? (I also have a taillight out and am super paranoid about getting pulled over...with reason). Again...blank stares. Well...I suppose I have no other option. I sigh loudly. I drive home and get my card and come back and when he runs my card and he tells me it's declined and then laughs. Not funny, guy. I had my worst gas station experience ever at this Chevron last year. I usually pay with cash (I'm old school) and I asked for $30 worth of gas. The attendant didn't set up the machine properly and it went until full, which was over $50. He asked me to pay it and I refused since I only asked for $30. He then offered to split it with me and I stood my ground since it's wasn't my fault he doesn't know how to operate the equipment at his job and I wasn't about to pay for his mistake even though it did result in more miles of driving for me. Unfortunately, this conversation went on for some time as he kept trying to negotiate with me and told he that he would have to pony up the difference so the night's drop wouldn't be short. He was trying to convince me that he would be paying for my gas that evening instead of me paying for my own gas. It was a guilt trip worthy of my mother. Thankfully, I have built up my guilt trip defenses and know how to retaliate. Thanks for the training, Mom. I paid the $30 I asked for and drove away livid. I was so irritated by the whole situation I called the next day to speak to the owner. The owner seemed more concerned with knowing exactly how to reprimand his employee than apologizing to me for my unpleasant experience. It's safe to say I will never get gas there ever again. read more

The week of Jan 25th 2016 the attendants at this station have been over-pumping what you request and pay for in advance with cash and then demand more money to cover the over-pump. This happened to both my girlfriend and I this week. DON'T GO HERE!! read more

Please save yourself the money and bs and go to another gas station. This place is right by my house but I only come here when desperate. Why? The service is extremely rude. They yelled at me today because I pulled up with the gas cap on the wrong side (I was in a rental). When I tried to laugh about it to the guy afrer circling around he stared at me angrily like i was purposefully trying to make his life harder. Snatches money out of my hand. I figure, hey this guy is probably having a rough day so I try to give him a few bucks for a tip, which he turns his back on without ONE WORD. lol like I'm sure you get tips all the time with that attitude. Overpriced always so overpriced! Not to mention last time I went there to get a bottle of water for my wife and they overcharged me I told the clerk it was marked another price brought him the tag from the cooler which said 2.20 and he still charged me 2.35. If it wasn't for my wife I would have left but since it wasn't I got it. My recommendation is don't go here unless you wanna get ripped off even if it's chevron gas this place has been overpriced and needs to lower their prices. read more

Two gas attendants here are very courteous. One not so much...raps on the passenger side window and expects you to hand him the gas card through that side of the car, rather than coming to the driver's side, talking on the cell phone while pumping gas, tosses the receipt on the passenger seat rather than handing it to the customer. No "thank you", only a scowl. Unfortunately one employee can ruin the customer experience that the rest of the team has worked hard to build. I have lived in this neighborhood for near 20 years and come to this gas station at least two or three times a month. Why? I have no idea. The help is often rude, incompetent, unapologetic. The staff inside have been her the entire 20 years and are of no use, no help, no value whatsoever other than to take your money and say they are sorry. Which they are not sorry. They just want you to leave. The gas is the most expensive gas in town, the service is by far the worst service in town. I have had it. I am not coming back here anymore. read more
